Blood Legacy Chapter 134: 132. My soulmates

8 min 48.5K views

Such a happy, emotion-loaded scene this was. Their parents and the other two royal families huddled at Darius and Nathan's sides, all of them so cheerful and content like one big family. It was pretty obvious that they were all so excited and relieved to have him back. Darius. My first soulmate. The one who'd miraculously returned from the dead, resurrected by the power of our very bond.

The first heir. The one meant to be their next ruler.

I could see why. Why he'd been chosen by fate itself. He exuded power. His presence was so pregnant and imposing amongst his peers, making him stand out. He was even a few inches taller than the king himself, his aura so virile and masculine. He was a beast, in every sense of the word. Made to rule. To dominate.

*To conquer.*

I couldn't stop myself from admiring that panty-dropping smile gracing his lips as he stared down at the woman who'd pushed him into this world, his enchanting black eyes holding nothing but sweet adoration.

"My sweet little baby," she whimpered out with the softest and most endearing voice, her slender arms wrapping around his torso as she pressed her cheek against the middle of his chest.

*Uh, ma'am, he's a freaking hunk. He could break us all in two if he wanted to,* I almost giggled after that silly thought, smiling instead as I watched her close her eyes and sigh with contentment, Darius' arms wrapping around her as he pressed a kiss over the top of her head.

*Aww*. Nope. Let's not start the waterworks again.

"Son, you have no idea how happy we are that you're alive and that you're here now, with us," his father said from where he stood by his side, his gaze searching and still filled with bewilderment as he continued,

"But...We can't comprehend how...How is it even possible?"

His mother slowly pulled herself away from his embrace, taking a few steps back to look up at him, all of them suddenly staring at him with unbridled curiosity as they eagerly waited for his answer.

He simply smiled, his bewitching gaze finding my own.

"She's the reason,"

Hmm? Huh-what?

I blinked, suddenly feeling so self-conscious as every single pair of eyes averted towards me, their gazes rather curious and surprised.

I watched him leave their side to approach me, my cheeks flushing with heat from all that unwanted attention I was now receiving. It felt kinda awkward and embarrassing.

But he didn't seem to mind that they were all still staring at us as he wrapped one arm around my waist. And with that sexy smile still gracing his lips he leaned over and pressed a sweet and lingering kiss over my lips, making my heart do a somersault. Damn. What was up with these guys and their knack for making me squirm under their parents' scrutinising gazes?

"Mother, father. She's my soulmate. My real soulmate. The one chosen for me by the Goddess herself," he proudly said, his seductive gaze never leaving my face.

I audibly gulped, my hand clutching onto the front of his crisp white shirt as I dared take a timid glance at our peers, offering them a forced and tiny smile. Damn. This was so much more awkward than I ever thought that it would be.

*Ugh. Damn you, Darius! And your annoying, momentary lack of decorum!*

His smile deepened as if reading my thoughts, taking my hand in his to give it a soft kiss as he calmly addressed them,

"Come. Let's go inside. I will explain everything,"

**

And explain he did. He told them everything. Every single detail. About his big and damning secret. The real reason why Clarissa died. Why he'd chosen to end his own life. His miraculous resurrection, the discovery of his magical powers. The way he'd felt our bond, his visions about me. Everything. Absolutely everything. Even about that tiny scar in the middle of his chest that remained, marking his skin as a reminder that he did in fact die.

"I still can't believe that you're here, that you're with us," his father -the king- softly murmured as he peered with wonder at said scar.

"This is...so incredible..."

They all approached to have a look at that tiny scar, one by one as they expressed their awe and bewilderment at the shocking facts. However, my gaze remained trained on Jasmina, the one I remembered to be David's baby sister as I couldn't help but notice how insistently she kept on staring at Darius' bared chest and abs, seemingly rather focused on ogling his muscles instead of observing his scar.

*What a thirsty little bitch we are*, I muttered under my breath with a hint of disdain, unable to squash that twinge of possessiveness suddenly gripping at me. He was mine. Mine and only mine. I wanted to growl at her, scratch her face and gouge her eyes out for daring to gaze and even lust upon what was rightfully mine.

*"I see that our wolfy nature is already starting to rub off on you, love,"* I heard Nathan let out a small chuckle from right next to me, my brows furrowing as I turned to peer at him.

Wait...I...haven't...How...?

My eyes widened a little, hesitating to believe that he could've...

*"Nate? Y-you're...can you hear what I'm saying right now?"* I tentatively sent out through the thin string of our bond, suspense building up within me as I waited for his answer.

*"Loud and clear, love. Loud and clear,"* he stole a glance at me from the corner of his eye, throwing me a wink as he subtly smiled.

I almost gasped out loud, fighting back a smile of my own. I really missed this, even back when I was still mad at him. I'd missed our secret conversations, the way we could freely talk in each other's mind whenever we pleased to. It was so freaking awesome. Not to mention that he was the best gossiping girlfriend I'd ever had.

*"Xoxo, gossip girl,"* he sent through the bond with a girly voice and I almost lost it, on the verge of breaking out into a fit of laughter. *Shit.*

I slapped a hand over my mouth and he gave me a little nudge, making me turn and throw him a narrowed glower.

"I apologize for lying like that to all of you. I cannot express how sorry I am," Darius' soft and guilt-ridden voice drew my attention back to what was happening, watching him button up his shirt as he faced his parents.

Thank God. I really didn't want that bitch's eyes to linger a single second longer on my mate's body. It bothered the hell out of me.

"I knew it," David's dad, Dominic, suddenly commented from where he sat sprawled in a comfy chair, making us all stare at him.

"I mean, I did suspect that Clarissa was not, in fact, your destined one," he casually added, however with a pointed look in Darius' direction.

"Human or not, you guys lacked that chemistry. That special connection. There was no palpable trace of bond between you two. Only fleeting infatuation,"

"She," he suddenly pointed towards me and I unconsciously took a step back as I startled with surprise.

"On the other hand," he smoothly added, "Has basically been here a few minutes now, in our midst and we can already feel that special energy thrumming up between you two,"

My eyes widened and I blinked a little, unnerved to notice the way everybody was staring at me now. Some with curiosity, some with pensive frowns.

"Hell, I can even taste it,"

"However," he added after a moment,

"We can also feel that her bond with Nate is still in place,"

My cheeks quickly filled up with heat at the sound of that. *Fuck.* I knew that this would come up at some point. I hadn't expected it be so swift though.

This was a very private subject, for all three of us. I mean, we had accepted it as it was. Complicated. And yet functioning so smoothly.

We'd gotten used to it, now that my connection with Darius was also very strong and they seemed to co-exist so peacefully within me. There was no conflict. No struggle. Just two separate bonds, connected to the same soul. But we knew that others would find it difficult to digest or even understand since we were the first ones to ever find ourselves in such situation. Mates were rare for the werewolf race, as both Nathan and Darius had told me so many times before. You could barely get one, if you were lucky enough. I wasn't a werewolf though. But I had two of them. Not one but two Alpha males, peacefully sharing a bond with the same female. It was unheard of.

"Lysander said that it had broken. That it was fading away," Dominic's brow raised a little as he peered between the three of us.

"Yes, it's still there," Darius calmly said, without a single trace of disdain or even sadness. "And we'd agreed not to interfere with it. Whether it will fade completely or linger, I will happily accept either outcome," he added, a kind smile forming on his lips as he turned to look at his brother with nothing but love in his dark eyes.

"Because regardless of the fact that I am her first destined soulmate and he the second, he was still the first one to love her. The one chosen to fill the void I had so selfishly created. And first or second, it was still the Moon Goddess' choice to pair him with her. Her decision to create this sacred bond between them," his gaze trailed between us with that sincere and adoring look still glinting in his eyes, making me smile, despite my jittering nervousness.

"And we, as her humble creations, we can only honour and respect the Moon Goddess' will. This blessing she had bestowed upon us," he turned to look at each member of his pack as he spoke with a little bit more passion, exerting his innate ability of leading and persuasion as before they even knew what they were doing their chins were already dipped, with their fingers touching the middle of their foreheads. A gesture of worship towards their sacred Goddess, as Nathan had explained to me some time before.

"Praised be the Goddess," the king murmured, followed by the rest of the royals.
