Greg says, “You can have him. I want peace. I don't want this shit anymore. Do what you need. If you can come through on your promise, how will you feed?”

“We still need blood; nothing can be done about that,” Vincent replies.

Alec suggests, “If you have people who want to donate blood, we can keep on tap so to speak, that will work. Then we don't have to hunt them.”

Greg nods, “I think we can do that. We will be in touch.” He looks back at Dylan. “Do what you want to him.”

I heard Quinn growl in pleasure at that. I stared down Dylan and smiled. “Looks like you have a date with a wolf.”

“I dare you to touch me. My men will…,” Dylan says.

Quinn interrupts, “Be dead before they can take a breath. You forget we are stronger and quicker than you humans. Why do you insist on starting shit with us?”

Vincent asks, “Can I watch? I want to make sure he's dead after he had his men attack us.”

Quinn grins wolfishly, “Sure. You can even help.”

“I'll give that pleasure to Nelly. Love…” Vincent trailed off.

I smirked at Dylan, who looked worried now. Oh, a wolf dismemberment doesn't scare him, but I do. That says something about myself. I smile to myself. “Thank you, baby. I couldn't possibly take all the fun away from you. Why don't we do it together?” I suggest.

“Aww...you two make me sick,” Quinn teases. “Ugh. Ok, meet me at my pack territory in 2 hours.” When he goes to grab Dylan, he whispers to me, “I do secretly love that you and Vincent are together. Doll, just remember when he fucks up, I am here.” He winks. I nod as Quinn and the other guy drag Dylan out.

I turn and look at Vincent. “So you think we can get the covens to agree to releasing the humans?”

“If I made it an order, yes. They won't like it but it's for the best for all of us,” he replies.

“I can't believe it's almost over.”

He smiles, “Me too. Have you given it much more thought about Tara’s baby?”

“Yes, but l'm still on the fence. I'll let you know soon.”

He smiles, “We have time. No pressure.” He picks me up and sets me on the table. “I wish I could give you that.”

"What? A child?" He hangs his head low, avoiding my gaze. I gently lift his chin, forcing him to meet my eyes. "You have given me life. You rescued me from the depths of darkness and brought me into the light. Your love and support have been my guiding light, unlike anything I have ever known.

If sacrificing the idea of having a child means I can devote all my love and attention to you, then I am more than willing to make that sacrifice. You are my everything, and I will always choose you."

As his gaze meets mine, a smile spreads across his face. The intensity of his stare causes my heart to flutter and my knees to weaken. In that moment, I realize that my love for him surpasses any other connection I have ever felt. He is the one who holds my heart in his hands, and I am forever grateful for his presence in my life.
