Darkness Chapter 39: Way Of The Wolf

Nelly and I are on the way to Quinn's territory. He took Dylan there earlier today, and we have been invited to help torture him. I'm interested to see how the wolves seek justice. “Quinn. What's up, man?”

Quinn smiles. “Good to see you. Our guest of honor is right this way.” He sniffs for a moment and blinks rapidly. I look at him for an explanation, but he just shakes his head. I guess he thought he smelled something, but it was nothing. “Nelly, you haven't seen what we do to people who cross us, have you?”

“No, I haven't,” she replies.

Quinn grins, “You will enjoy this, you both will.” We walk out to a clearing, and in the middle is Dylan chained by his neck to a tree trunk, and he's got two wolves circling him, nipping at him. He's got cuts all over his body. I'm enjoying listening to him scream and cry as the wolves toy with him.

“Ahhhhhh. Stop, please. I'm sorry!” Dylan whines.

Nelly scoffs, “Yeah, that's an empty apology. I remember that's how you apologized to me when you fucked me over.”

“You were just jealous I left you for Cat,” he hisses.

Quinn gasps, “Wait, you had a relationship with this pussy?”

Nelly rolls her eyes. “I wish I could say no, but it was young and stupid.”

Dylan says, “You just miss it, that's all.”

Nelly laughs. My queen is about to rip him a new one. “Oh, yes I miss your Smurf dick failing to give me an orgasm and me having to finish myself off in the bathroom.” She looks at me as she bites her lip. “If you think I'll trade his monster díck for yours, you are sadly mistaken.”

Quinn claps, “Oooohhh. I like this challenge. Let's see if he really is as tiny as you say he is!”

Nelly winks at Quinn. “Get a magnifying glass and tweezers.”

Quinn wipes tears from his eyes, “Shit. You are brutal and I fucking love it.”

“I can let the monster, as you call out to play,” I say to Nelly as I raise my eyebrow.

“Mmmm, no. That's for only me to see,” she replies.

I pull her close, “All yours, baby.”

They strip Dylan, and Quinn starts to laugh. “Damn dude, she wasn't kidding. You have wee little pecker. How do you please a woman? I mean seriously.”

“He doesn't. That's the thing. You wolves are doing women a favor,” she says.

Dylan yells, “You bitch! Why don't you let me off this leash and I'll show you how tough I am?”

She cracks her neck. “Go for it. I'll take you out and won't break a sweat.”

Quinn wiggles his finger at her, “Uhhh. No. He's ours to play with.”

Nelly pretends to nip at his finger before she looks at Dylan, “Damn. Sorry, Dylan, but I do look forward to seeing how the wolves play with their food.”

Quinn smiles, “We don't play, we stalk.” I walk over to Nelly and wrap my arms around her as we watch the wolves toy with Dylan a little more before Quinn gives the command. Two wolves lunge at him and rip into his body. It's not long before he is torn to shreds. Ok I thought we were bad but damn the wolves are ruthless! I am glad that I have packs on my side. 

Quinn looks at Nelly and me, “Why don't you guys come in for lunch, and we can talk?”

“Sounds good.” We went into his pack house. It's surrounded by other wolves all over the place. It's very interesting, not much different from our hordes, but the dynamic is different. We sit down on the couch as we are surrounded by his pack who eye us suspiciously.

A little girl jumps into my lap and looks at Nelly. “You're pretty,” she says.

Nelly smiles, “So are you. What's your name?”

“Sally. What's yours?”

“Nelly.”

“My mommy is with sky people,” Sally says.

Nelly replies, “I'm sorry.”

Quinn explains, “Our belief is when a loved one leaves us, they rise to become part of the stars to help illuminate our paths for the future.”

“That's a beautiful way to see it,” she replies.

“My mommy is up there,” Sally reiterates. 

“I'm so sorry, sweetie,” Nelly says. She is amazing with kids. I need to convince her to keep Tara’s baby. She would be the best mother for it.

“Can I kiss you?” Sally asks her.

“Oh course,” Nelly replies.  I look over and the little girl instead of kissing her cheek she kisses her stomach. “Why would you kiss me there?”

Sally smiles, “For your baby.”

Nelly shakes her head. “Oh, sweetie, I can't have children. Vampires can't.”

Sally sighs, “Oh. Ok.” I watch as the girl crawls off my lap and walks towards a man who l assume is her father.

Nelly asks, “Was her mom one of the ones attacked?” Quinn nods. “That's horrible.”

“Yeah. Can I speak privately with you two?” Quinn asks.

“Sure.” What the fuck is going on now? We follow him to a den. We sit down as he leans against his desk. He's grinning a little too much for me. What does he know that I don't? “What is it, man?”

Quinn grins, “Sally is right. You are pregnant, Nelly.”

“It's not possible, I am dead but not dead,” she replies.

“Yeah, we can't have kids, man, you know that. If she were still human, there would only be a slim chance.”

Quinn looks me in the eye. “Yeah, but you guys are having a baby. Vincent, you were a lab rat. Who's to say they didn't do something that allows you to have children that the scientists didn't know? Or maybe Nelly’s parents did something to her too?”

“You are such a fucker. Stop!”

“I'm not joking. I noticed it when we grabbed Dylan, but I pushed it aside. But as we were walking to the tree, I smelled it again. Nelly, you are a couple of weeks along,” Quinn explains.

Nelly shakes her head. “That's not…”

Quinn interrupts, “Listen, I have a heightened sense of smell. I would trust me on this.”

Nelly rolls her eyes, “Whatever.”

“Dude.” There is no way. Quinn is fucking screwing with us, right? Is his reasoning plausible....yes... I guess. I was tested on anything that could happen, and Nelly didn't turn from that wolf attack when she was human. Holy shit! Nelly is pregnant!
