Darkness Chapter 48: France

**Vincent**

It's been a month since we got to my chateau in France. It's quiet, secluded, and perfect to raise our family. I know Nelly is anxious to go home after the baby is born, but we can't take that chance. I haven't told her yet, and yes, I am afraid of my wife. I'm not ashamed to say that. The wolves that came with us from Quinn's pack are settling in. They have plenty of space to run and have taken the small staff houses that sit off the chateau. Said they feel like they are in a cave. I guess I can see their point. Nelly is starting to show, and I can see the glances from my people. “Hey, baby.”

“Hey, handsome. How are you?” she asks.

“Good. I wanted to talk to you about something.” She gave me a nod. “I think we need to tell the horde.” 

She puts her hands on her bump and looks at me and smiles. “It's time. I see the glances. I can't hide it anymore. They should know.”

“I'll gather everyone today. Also, I need to fly home next week. We have a council meeting, and I will meet with the new rebel leader with Quinn.”

“Okay. When do we leave?”  Oh Fuck! I'd rather have my balls in a vice right now than tell her she's not coming. Does anyone have a vice? Shit! “I'm leaving Monday.”

“Wait.... I'm not going?”

“Nelly. Look at yourself. You are 3 months pregnant. You can't hide it, and some people want you dead just for that fact.”

“Vincent!”

No! I will not waver on this. You are staying here. End of discussion." Well, looks like I'm about to have my ass handed to me. Ever tick off a pregnant woman? Try adding in the fact that she's a trained killer vampire, and you'll understand why I'm terrified of her.

Nelly bellows, "FINE!" and storms out of the room. Nope, this is not good. When a woman says "fine" in an argument, it means you better sleep with one eye open if you want to keep your limbs intact.

"Nelly! Please, you have to understand it's not safe for you or the baby."

"Oh, I heard you loud and clear, dear husband. You're not asking, you're dictating to me - your wife, mate, and mother of your child - what you want me to do, and then you expect me to follow orders like I'm one of your damn slaves. I'm not your pet anymore. I'M YOUR GODDAMN WIFE! Sleep in one of the guest rooms. Your inflated ego won't fit in our bed at the moment. Oh, and Vincent dear... I hope you like your hands," Nelly seethed.

I stood there staring. “Cause that is the closest action you will be getting for the remainder of my pregnancy.” FUCK! FUCK! FUCKIDY FUCK FUCK! Motherfucking, damnit!  Did I fail to mention she had been insatiable the last several weeks? Like she has to have it 3-5 times a day. I mean, there are days I can't keep up. Now she has cut me off from that. Quadruple fuck!

It's Monday morning and I'm getting ready to leave with Alec. We will be gone for a couple of days. The horde was told about Nelly and they were all so supportive and have been great helping her and have done exactly what I had hoped, which is protect her. She is after all their leader just as much as me.

I knock on the door to our room, and she doesn't answer. Yes, she was true to her word and kicked my ass out. I took the room across from ours, which we had been working on as the nursery. Several nights, I heard her moans coming from the room. I mean, seriously!!! I know I'm better than her hands or one of those damn toys she thinks I don't know about. I try the handle and it's locked. Well, fuck me!! Wasn't expecting that. “Nel, baby... I'm leaving. Please open the door.” Nothing. Well damn. “I love you, baby. Please, call me if you need anything.”

I waited a few more minutes, hoping she would come to the door. Nope. I walk away and head to the airfield. “She still isn't talking to you, is she?” he asks.

“No, and it's pissing me off.”

Alec smirks. “She's a stubborn woman.”

I grin. “Yes, she is Alec, but I wouldn't change it for anything.”

**Nelly**

I hear Vincent knocking. I'm so pissed at him. He has no right to tell me what I should and shouldn't do. Honestly, I wouldn't have gone, but l just wanted him to let us discuss it and not dictate to me. Now he's leaving and l'm lying here crying. He hurt me deep. “I love you, baby...please call me if you need anything,” Vincent says before I hear his footsteps get quieter as he walks away.

I throw the covers over my head and try to get the image of him out of my head.

Try as I might, I couldn't. I couldn't get he beautiful hazel eyes that looked at me with such love out of my head or the smile that melted my soul or that damn sexy ass god like body. In addition I was so damn horny that I had to resort to pleasing myself and let's face it. Nothing compares to him. He knows exactly how to turn my body on and ignite me. “Ugh!!! Damn that man!!!”
