The Abandoned Luna's Journey to Power Chapter 17: The Dawn Of Homecoming

Cindy's POV:

Jewel stepped instantly in front of me, fearless as she stared down Hannah. "You will not disrespect Ms. Cindy! Your pack's bullying has gone too far. Don't you have any shame?"

"Hah! An Omega daring to talk back?" Hannah sneered at Jewel, then turned her greedy, threatening glare on me. "Cindy, if anything happens to Grandma, you'll pay with every penny of your inheritance! And those clothes and jewelry? Our war pack bought them. Give them all back!"

"Those were gifts Ms. Cindy gave you out of kindness!" Jewel's voice trembled with anger, refusing to back down. "You're so heartless and ungrateful! Return everything you took from Ms. Cindy!"

Hannah was stunned for a moment, then exploded with rage fueled by humiliation. "You, a lowly Omega, actually dare to defy me? Cindy, do you really think you're the Luna of the Duskfang Pack? Just wait until James comes back; he'll drive you all out. Then you'll be nothing but homeless outcasts!"

The she-wolves behind her growled low and grimly, trying to overwhelm us with their presence. Their thick, dirty pheromones filled the air, stirring my wolf spirit.

"That's exactly what we want," I sneered, stepping out from behind Jewel, my eyes cool and steady on the furious Hannah. "Keep the clothes and jewelry. Wear them, lose them—I don't care. They're tainted anyway. But from now on, if anyone in the Duskfang Pack touches what's mine, they'll answer to me."

My words carried the weight of an Alpha's power, pressing down on them like a heavy stone. Hannah's eyes widened, her chest rising and falling with fury, but no words came out.

The she-wolves exchanged uneasy glances, their confidence crumbling under my unshakable presence.

"Cindy, you're way stronger than they ever were," Diana's voice rang deep inside me, steady and sure. "Those greedy hyenas don't deserve to face you."

Hannah flickered with uncertainty, trying to hold onto her pride but unable to meet my gaze.

She ground her teeth and shouted with desperate bravado, "You just wait! Cindy, you'll regret this! The Duskfang Pack will never let you go!"

With a sharp motion, she signaled her pack and stormed out of Moonwhisper Residence, dragging her bitterness behind her.

The door slammed shut with a final, heavy bang, signaling her last act of defiance.

"Ms. Cindy ... " Jewel looked at me, worry clouding her face.

I squeezed her hand gently, determination burning bright in my eyes. "Don't worry, Jewel. Their time is over."

I picked up the Soul Breaker claw gloves, the cold metal sending sparks through my fingertips, igniting the long-dormant fire deep inside me.

"Pack your things, Jewel," I said softly. "When King Ryken's order comes, we leave. First stop—Moonridge Heights. I'm going to see Elder Selvaryn."

It was time for the world to remember Cindy of Northmere's Silverpeak Pack once again.

Priscilla's POV:

Hannah stormed back from Cindy's place, tears streaming down her cheeks, furious and accusatory. Cindy hadn't shown the slightest bit of remorse; she had even struck Hannah and talked back with arrogance.

My blood boiled, pounding in my head like thunder. I was already furious over the loan contract Cindy proposed, and this just pushed my anger through the roof!

"She's completely lost it!" I shivered, my wolf spirit roaring fiercely inside me.

But what hurt even more was the matter regarding Rupert, the werewolf doctor.

After all these years of friendship, there was no way he'd just abandon me because of something Cindy said. No way. She must be plotting behind my back!

"Quick! Send someone to Rupert's place. Find out what's going on. Tell him I'm sick and need him to come immediately!" I ordered, urgency thick in my voice.

The messenger came back fast, looking pale and uneasy, stumbling over his words until I pushed him to explain. Finally, he relayed Rupert's assistant's message exactly, "Dr. Garraway said, ‘I'm extremely disappointed by the Duskfang Pack's actions. From now on, I cut all ties with them and won't step foot on their land again.'"

It felt like my head exploded. Darkness blurred my vision.

"Extremely disappointed?" I shot up, fury exploding uncontrollably. I grabbed a glass from the table and slammed it down hard. It shattered everywhere. "Cindy! That venomous snake! She's trying to destroy me!"

The other female wolves in the room erupted with curses all at once.

"Cindy's so heartless! Mrs. Priscilla treated her with kindness, and she stoops so low for some money!"

"She even dares insult the werewolf doctor? What else would she do? A woman like that doesn't deserve to be Luna!"

"She's so vindictive. No wonder Alpha James wants to marry Evelyn!"

In the middle of the chaos, the Grand Elder, Robert Black—an imposing old wolf with white hair and a commanding presence—walked in with a grunt. Immediately, the room went silent.

His cloudy eyes scanned everyone before settling on me. "I've heard what happened. Ultimately, this falls on James as Alpha. Cindy's complaints might make sense, but I thought it was just a small tantrum. Cutting off Mrs. Priscilla's medicine? That's crossing the line."

He paused, then looked at his young grandson. "Go find James. I want to ask him why he can't even control his own Luna, yet thinks he can lead the Duskfang Pack."
