The Abandoned Luna's Journey to Power Chapter 336: Prince Niall Wants Viola
Cindy's POV:
"Holy crap!"
Viola jumped like a cat that just got its tail stepped on. Her bright red hair looked like it was about to explode into actual flames.
"That creepy, 200-year-old, wrinkled-up old pervert wants to marry me?!" Viola shouted while frantically brushing off her clothes, like something dirty had touched her. "I swear, I'll tear his castle down brick by brick and slap that old man's face until it's purple! The nerve! He's a total scumbag!!"
I was so shocked my scalp felt numb. I felt a mix of pure rage and extreme disgust.
So that was why Katie hated us. She thought we were clinging to that old lecher, Prince Niall, and that it caused Sephiria to be cast aside and tortured.
The whole thing was this ridiculous.
The room was filled with Viola's furious yelling. She paced back and forth like an enraged lioness. The whip in her hand creaked under the tight grip.
"Gross! This is so gross!" Viola's eyes burned with anger, like she wanted to rush back to the royal court right now. "He tortures the wife he's been bonded with for decades until she's half-dead, then immediately goes hunting for young girls? Does he think every she-wolf in this kingdom is part of his harem?! That rotten trash! I'm going to break his third leg!"
I stood by the bed. I wasn't yelling like Viola, but my whole body was shaking from pure anger.
Deep in my mind, Diana spoke in a cold voice. "Cindy, use your smart brain. This isn't just an old creep in heat. This is a power hunt."
I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down. I started connecting the dots on the timeline.
"Something's not right," I said in a low voice, cutting off Viola's rant. "Viola, think about the timing. Prince Niall targeting me wasn't random."
I looked out the window at the gloomy snowfall, my eyes sharp. "Last year, right after I returned from the Southreach in triumph, King Ryken used the excuse of 'preserving the Silverpeak bloodline' to give me an ultimatum: I had three months to choose a mate at the Royal Court, or he'd force me to marry Prince Niall!"
Viola stopped in her tracks. Katie and Carla both looked shocked.
"King Ryken... used Prince Niall... to threaten you?" Viola gasped.
"Exactly," I said through gritted teeth. "That's where this all started! King Ryken wanted to force Adam to make a choice, so he threw out the most disgusting option to push us. And Prince Niall, that old fox, obviously heard about it, or he smelled the chance for a political marriage himself."
I looked at Sephiria, who was barely clinging to life on the bed, and my chest tightened.
"Prince Niall wanted my family's military power and my fortune. To play along with the King's plan, he had to clear out his Luna spot as fast as possible. That's why he used that brutal Bond-Breaking Order and framed Sephiria as 'jealous'!
"Once Adam and I went public, the King got what he wanted, and Prince Niall's scheme fell apart. But a greedy old creep like him would never just give up." I looked at Viola and gave a cold laugh. "Then there's you. Top student, war hero, and a new Knight. You have the Blaze Pack backing you up. To him, you're just another prize to help him grow his power. So, he moved on to you."
That was the cruelty of royal power.
To them, it didn't matter that Sephiria'd been by his side for decades, and it didn't matter what I or Viola wanted. We were all just the chips in their hands.
