The Abandoned Luna's Journey to Power Chapter 351: Sephiria's Request

4 min 1 views

Cindy's POV:

"Cindy, come. Sit beside me," she said weakly, patting the edge of the bed.

I walked over and sat down beside her. Then I picked up the bowl of steaming soup and a spoon. "Sephiria, you look a little better today. Have more of this soup. It'll make you feel better."

However, Sephiria suddenly reached out with her thin hand and held my wrist as I lifted the spoon.

Her grip was weak, but determined.

"Nah. Those things can't save my life." She shook her head. Her eyes, which had been cloudy before, suddenly looked unusually clear, as if she had already seen beyond the line between life and death.

"Sephiria, what are you saying? You just finished half a glass of medicine. Rupert's medicine works. As long as you keep taking it on time—" I began to panic.

"Cindy, listen to me first."

Sephiria interrupted me. Her expression turned serious, carrying a kind of pleading that felt like someone entrusting their last wish before death.

"I know my own body better than anyone. The Bond-Breaking Order has already shattered the foundation of my soul. This body of mine is only lingering because of the medicine you brought. It's nothing more than the final struggle before the end. For me, death is not something to fear. It's freedom."

She looked at me as tears slid down from the corners of her eyes. There was reluctance in them, a final attachment to the world, and also a helpless, bitter smile toward fate. "I have to endure the pain of a torn soul every day if I continue living. I have to face the biting cold and the memories of betrayal again and again. That's the real torture."

"Sephiria..." My voice choked as tears blurred my vision again. I could not argue with her, because I knew she was right. For an Omega whose heart had been shattered and whose soul had been destroyed, sometimes living required far more courage than dying.

"Cindy, promise me something." Sephiria's fingers tightened slightly around my wrist. "If... if I am truly gone in the next few days, you must never seek revenge for me."

I lifted my head sharply and stared at her in disbelief.

"Why? They turned you into this! That vicious woman, Leanna, and that heartless jerk, Niall. Why should they be allowed to walk free?" I argued through clenched teeth, the anger in my chest almost burning away my reason.

"Because you can't defeat him."

A deep fear suddenly flashed in Sephiria's eyes. She glanced toward the tightly closed door, making sure no one was outside listening. Only then did she lower her voice. Her words were barely louder than a whisper, yet they made my heart pound violently.

"Cindy, all of you have been deceived. The entire Royal Court has been deceived. Even King Ryken has been deceived."

My heartbeat quickened instantly. A strong feeling told me that what she was about to say would be a secret powerful enough to shake the entire Royal Court.

"Prince Niall... he's not the useless man people believe him to be. He's not the idle prince who only cares about pleasure and throws away his reputation for a mistress."

Sephiria took a deep breath, as if every word she spoke was draining the little life she had left.

"All these years, he's deliberately created the image of a foolish, incompetent womanizer. He even accepted the blame for driving away his own Luna for the sake of a mistress. He did all of that to deceive King Ryken, to make the Royal Court lower its guard against him.

"What he's really been doing... is secretly building an army."

"Building an army?" I gasped, then immediately covered my mouth. My heart pounded like thunder.

Under the rule of the Royal Court, every lord's military force had a strict limit and was recorded. Only during wartime were they allowed to expand their troops.

If Prince Niall had secretly expanded his army on a large scale, it would be the same as treason.

"Where?" I asked with trembling lips. "The number of soldiers in Prince Niall's territory is fixed. How could he possibly hide a large army right under King Ryken's watch?"

Sephiria closed her eyes and, with great effort, spoke four words.

"Bloodridge Mountains."

Boom!

Those four words struck my mind like a thunderclap. My head spun in shock.

Bloodridge Mountains.

That was Princess Margaret's private territory.
