Cindy's POV:

When we left the palace, the bonfires in the square were still burning brightly.

I glanced back once more. Prince Niall was hurriedly helping his family into their carriage.

The composed confidence he had when he arrived, trying to stir conflict between the two princes, was completely gone.

Noah's kneeling surrender hadn't just shattered his scheme. It had become something solid and unbreakable, reinforcing Adam's status and authority in the royal court more than ever before.

Under the shadows of the night, Prince Niall's face looked dark and twisted, like he had swallowed something rotten.

"Don't look. It'll ruin your mood."

Adam's large hand covered my eyes, and he pulled me into our carriage.

The carriage moved steadily along the snow-covered streets. Inside, the heater gave off a soft, comforting warmth.

Astra sat quietly beside me, but I could tell his eyes were fixed on Adam without blinking.

Under the dim light of the carriage, I reached for Adam's arm and began to loosen his collar. "Let me see your injuries."

What had happened in the square had been brutal.

Even though Noah had been putting on a show, every strike had been real. Adam's throat and foreleg had clearly been bitten hard enough to draw blood.

"I'm really fine, Cindy." Adam smiled and gently stopped my slightly panicked hands. "Noah knew what he was doing. It looked dangerous, but we both avoided anything fatal. He went for the thicker areas, and I held back when I bit him too."

He loosened his collar slightly, revealing the spot where Noah's fangs had cut into him.

Sure enough, the healing ability of royal blood was incredible. The wound, which had looked torn open before, had already stopped bleeding and was beginning to form a thin scab.

"See? Just a surface wound. I'll sleep it off, and by tomorrow morning, there won't even be a mark." Adam waved his arm casually.

I looked at the injury. Even though I knew he was telling the truth, my chest still tightened.

I lifted my hand and traced the outline of the wound in the air, my voice soft with complaint. "Even if it was part of the plan, you didn't have to go that far. Do you know how it felt watching from the side? My heart was about to jump out of my chest."

Adam's expression softened. He lowered his head and pressed a warm kiss to my fingertips. "Sorry for worrying you, my Duchess. I'll be more careful next time."

"Wow..."

A quiet exclamation came from beside us.

We turned to look. Astra was gripping the edge of the seat with both hands, his silver-gray eyes shining with intense admiration, like he had just witnessed something divine.

Astra nodded hard, breaking into a bright grin.

The carriage entered Adam's estate. As soon as we passed through the gates, the rich smell of roasted meat and the sweetness of malt beer filled the air.

The entire estate was brightly lit, almost like daytime.
