The Alpha's Secret Mate Chapter 31: you deserve everything
Mabel's pov
I stepped into the bedroom and saw Adam standing there, already dressed. He looked up and smiled at me, his eyes warm and welcoming. I felt a sense of calm, knowing that he was there with me. I walked over to him, the floor creaking beneath my feet. I reached out and touched his arm, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath my fingertips.
He turned towards me, his eyes focused on mine. I could feel the electricity between us, the tension crackling in the air. We stood there, our breath mingling in the space between us. And then, he reached out and took my hand in his. I felt a shiver run down my spine as our fingers intertwined. I felt like I was falling, but in the best possible way. We stood there for a moment, just enjoying each other's presence.
And then, Adam pulled me close to him, and I wrapped my arms around him. I could feel his heart beating against my chest, the rhythm matching my own. I closed my eyes, savoring the moment. And then, he spoke, his voice low and soft. "You're the most amazing person I know," he said. I opened my eyes, looking into his. I felt a rush of emotion, and I didn't know what to say. But then, I realized that I didn't need to say anything.
As we stood there, holding each other, the world seemed to fade away. All that mattered was the two of us.
I pulled Adam by the hand and led him into the kitchen. "C'mon, let's make cereal for you to eat," I said, my voice full of energy. Adam looked at me, a little surprised. "But we were just having such a good conversation," he said. I smiled. "We'll pick it up later. Right now, we need fuel for our brains." He laughed and followed me into the kitchen. "What kind of cereal do you want?" I asked.
Adam looked at the pantry, considering his options. "I think I'll go for some Cheerios," he said. "A classic choice," I said with a smile. I grabbed the box of Cheerios and set it on the counter. I opened the cupboard and took out a bowl. Then, I opened the fridge and grabbed the milk. I poured some cereal into the bowl and then added the milk. I handed it to Adam, and he took a bite.
After breakfast, Adam and I sat in the kitchen, talking and laughing. It was a comfortable, easy feeling, like we had known each other for years. And then, I remembered something. I had seen something the night before, but I wasn't sure if it was real or just my imagination. I debated whether or not to tell Adam, but something inside of me told me I should. But, I hesitated. I didn't want to worry him if it was nothing.
I looked at Adam, a question on my lips. "Who's going to be Alpha now that you're no longer in charge?" I asked, curious to know the answer. Adam's face was unreadable, his expression neutral. "I'm not sure," he said. "The Pack will have to vote on a new Alpha. But that's not something we need to worry about right now. You're what matters to me." I felt a rush of emotion at his words
His words touched me deeply. I felt a rush of gratitude and affection for him. I reached out and took his hand, squeezing it gently. "Thank you," I said, my voice thick with emotion. He smiled, understanding what I meant. "You don't need to thank me," he said. "I would do anything for you, you know that." I nodded, feeling a sense of peace wash over me.
I thought for a moment, wondering what to say next. "I'm just so grateful that you gave up so much for me," I said.
"No one has ever done it for me before" I added
"I know it couldn't have been easy." Adam nodded, his eyes serious. "It wasn't easy," he said. "But it was worth it. You're worth it." I felt a lump in my throat, overwhelmed by his words. "I'm not sure I'm worth all that," I said, my voice barely a whisper
Adam reached out and touched my cheek, his eyes filled with compassion. "You are worth it, and so much more," he said. "I know that I don't deserve you, but I'm so grateful to have you in my life. I wouldn't change a thing." I blinked away the tears that had begun to form in my eyes. I felt so grateful for Adam's presence in my life, for his love and support. I wanted to tell him how much he meant to me, but I didn't know how.
I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. I felt so much, but I couldn't find the right words to express it. Adam seemed to understand, though. He stood up from where he sat and walked over to me, he pulled me close, wrapping his arms around me. "You don't have to say anything," he said. "Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what." I took a deep breath, letting his words sink in. I felt like I could breathe again, like I could face anything with him by my side.
I looked up at him, my eyes meeting his. "I love you," I said, the words pouring out of me. "I love you so much." He smiled, a smile that reached his eyes. "I love you too," he said. "More than anything." I felt a sense of peace wash over me, a sense of safety and security. We stood there, holding each other, our hearts beating as one.
I looked up at Adam, my eyes meeting his. He leaned in, and I closed my eyes, ready for our lips to meet. His lips were warm and soft, and I felt a spark of electricity run through me. Our kiss was brief, but it was full of passion and heat. It left me wanting more
