Mabel's pov

I made my way to the kitchen and began to prepare dinner. I was still thinking about Adam, wondering what he was doing. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was different, that something had changed. But I pushed those thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. I began chopping vegetables, the rhythmic sound of the knife on the cutting board calming my nerves.

As I chopped the vegetables, I started to feel a sense of peace wash over me. I could feel my stress melting away, and I began to feel more relaxed. I was lost in my little world, focusing on the task at hand.

I was completely absorbed in my task, and nothing could distract me. I didn't notice the time passing or anything else around me. I was in a state of flow, completely at ease. It was only when I finished chopping the vegetables that I realized how much time had passed.

Adam's pov

I stepped out of the house, closing the door behind me. I took a deep breath, feeling the cool evening air fill my lungs. As I walked to my car, my mind drifted to thoughts of her. I couldn't stop thinking about her, about the way she made me feel. But as I got into my car and started driving, I forced myself to focus on the task at hand. I had an important meeting that I couldn't afford to miss.

I drove down the road, the streetlights passing by in a blur. I tried to focus on the task at hand, on the meeting I was about to attend. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop thinking about her. I couldn't stop thinking about the way she looked at me, the way she spoke to me. But I knew I had to push those thoughts aside, at least for now. I had a job to do.

I stepped out of the elevator and onto the 7th floor. The staff members all bowed as I passed by, and I gave them a brief nod in return. I made my way to the meeting room, my mind still preoccupied with thoughts of her. I pushed open the door and entered the room, where several of my colleagues were already seated around the table. They all looked up at me expectantly, and I took my seat at the head of the table.

As I looked around the table, I could see the concern on my colleagues' faces. It was clear that they were worried about the state of the company. "We need to buckle down and work harder than ever," I said. "We need to be innovative, we need to think outside the box. We need to do whatever it takes to turn this around." There was a murmur of agreement from around the table, and I could see that everyone was on the same page.

I began to outline my plan for how we could turn things around. I proposed new strategies, new ways of thinking, and new approaches to problem-solving. I could see that my colleagues were listening intently, and I felt a sense of hope rising within me. I knew that we could do this, that we could make a difference. I just had to lead the way.

After what seemed like hours, the meeting finally came to an end. I stood up, feeling tired but determined. I knew that we had a lot of work to do, but I was confident that we could do it. As my colleagues filed out of the room, I heard one of them say, "Thank you, Sir." Those words gave me a boost of confidence, and I knew that we were on the right track.

As I sat down at my desk, my assistant, Julie, handed me a stack of papers. "These are the meetings that you have scheduled for today," she said. I glanced through the list, and my heart sank. There were so many meetings, and I knew that I couldn't possibly attend them all. "Cancel the ones that aren't absolutely necessary," I said. Julie nodded and began to make the calls. I sat back in my chair, feeling relieved that I had made the decision to cut back on my schedule.

I spent the rest of the day in meetings, one after another. I gave my full attention to each meeting, even though I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. When the last meeting ended, I was exhausted, but I knew I couldn't stop yet. I went back to my office and sat down at my desk. I turned on my computer and began to go through my email.

I went through the messages, replying to each one with care and attention. Then, I turned my attention to the files on my desk. There were reports, memos, and other documents that required my review. I began to go through them, one by one. I was making progress, but I couldn't help but feel like there was something else I should be doing.

I packed up the files I needed to take home and walked out of my office, turning off the lights behind me. As I walked down the hallway, I felt a sense of relief. I was almost done for the day. But as I reached the elevator, I stopped and took a deep breath. I couldn't stop thinking about her, no matter how hard I tried. I pushed the button for the elevator and stepped inside. The doors closed, and I was on my way home.

I walked out of the building and to the parking lot. I unlocked my car, a silver sedan, and opened the door. I placed the files on the passenger seat and got into the driver's seat. I started the car and backed out of the parking space. I drove out of the lot and onto the street, heading towards home. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow on the horizon. I turned on the radio and found a station playing my favorite music. I drove, lost in my thoughts.
