The Lunar Queen Chapter 117

Lyric POV

I wake up to an empty bed. My body feels like it’s been beaten over and over again.

“Ugh Nova why haven’t you healed me?” I ask her.

She stretches in my mind.

“Because our mates will take care of us,” she says.

I lay in the bed looking down at all the bruises and bite marks.

This heat was brutal and completely exhausting. It should be illegal to be horny all day for seven days while literally feeling like an actual furnace. Complete hell.

And the crazy part is Nova would probably do it all over again tomorrow if she had the choice.

A few minutes later my mates walk into the room.

“Good morning beautiful,” Kairo says as he walks over and kisses me softly.

Cole walks over and kisses me then walks into the bathroom.

I hear the tub running. Did I say he has a gigantic soaking tub that I would just live in if I could?

He comes back in a few moments later and scoops me out of the bed gently and I wrap my arms around his neck.

Kairo starts undressing.

“Oh no I do not want to see either of those things for at least a week,” I say pointing my finger at him.

He laughs at me.

“Trust me love we all need a break after that,” he says.

“Good because if either one of you tries anything today I’m filing a complaint with Selene,” I grumble.

He chuckles and walks over and kisses me.

“We just want to help you feel better. Nova thinks you should be proud to wear all our love marks so we just going to help you and we can talk,” he says as Cole lowers me into the tub.

It smells like lavender and eucalyptus.

He pours in Epsom salt and then he and Kairo climb in with their boxers on.

Cole sits in front of me and Kairo behind me and they both begin massaging different parts of my body.

Kairo works from my neck down my back and Cole starts from my feet and up my thighs.

“We’re sorry for all the bruises princess,” Cole says.

I laugh.

“It’s not like I was complaining much, although a lot of it was heat dazed. Towards the end my mind was a little more clear, so i was willing” I say smiling at them.

“How’s my babies?” I ask.

They both go quiet.

Immediately my stomach drops.

They must feel my panic about to spiral because Kairo grabs my face to look at him.

“Nothing is wrong with the pups. Hannah just said something that you may not like,” he says.

Oh god this little girl and her visions are going to be the death of me.

“What did she say?” I ask.

“That you are pregnant,” Cole says.

I still for a whole full minute.

Did he just say pregnant again?

So when she said it that day in the dining room she was talking about the near future not later.

Fucking hell.

“So I’m pregnant right now? Is that what you are saying to me?” I ask because I was just pregnant. They are barely three months old.

“Yes love, but calm down,” Kairo says.

Cole’s eyes go wide.

“Wrong answer,” Cole says under his breath.

Nova immediately starts purring in my head while I seriously consider drowning both of my mates in this bathtub.

I glare at him because I heard it.

“Calm down? I literally just gave birth, and now I have to do it all over again. My babies will still be babies when this baby is born,” I say.

“It’s more than one,” Cole says so low I almost missed it.

“WHAT?” I shout.

“You have got to be fucking kidding me.”

“How many?” I ask.

Cole shakes his head.

“We don’t know. She just said babies.”

I can’t believe I am pregnant with more than one baby again.

This is like the worst joke ever.

I take a few deep breaths and close my eyes.

“Okay I’m fine. Anything else?” I ask.

I am absolutely not fine, but one problem at a time.

Cole smiles.

“Tell her.”

“I’m coming home with you love,” he says low in my ear.

I spin so fast to face him water splashes on the floor.

“For real?” I ask.

“Yes love,” he says.

“How?” I ask.

“My council reminded me you are a witch,” he says.

I slap my forehead.

“Duh Lyric a portal,” I say.

The relief hits me so hard my eyes actually sting. I hadn't realized how much I had been dreading leaving him behind until this moment.

I kiss him deeply and he growls into the kiss.

I’m so excited because now I will have both of my mates with me every day.

“Okay so then we need to get packing,” I say.

“Now?” Cole asks.

“Yes because Kairo has a lot of stuff,” I say.

We spend the rest of the day packing up all of Kairo’s things to be sent to the East.

I quickly learn that Kairo owns entirely too many things for someone who spent decades trapped in his Lycan form.

We had dinner in his room with the pups and we were all out as soon as we laid down in the bed.

The next morning Hannah is jumping on the bed in excitement.

“Hannah banana mama is still sleeping,” I groan.

“But mama, papa is coming home with us. I’m happy,” she says still jumping on the bed.

“I know honey but mama is tired,” I say opening one eye to look at her.

She just looks at me and keeps jumping.

Apparently my suffering means absolutely nothing to her.

Kairo comes up and grabs her off the bed mid jump and she squeals so loud my ears ring.

“You woke up mama. I thought we said don’t wake her up,” he asks.

“I’m sorry papa. I’m just excited you are coming home,” she says.

“I am too. Why don’t you go say bye to your friends while mama gets ready?” he says.

“Good morning love,” he says.

“Good morning my king. Where is Cole?” I ask.

“He went to see off your warriors. He said we can just go home through the portal,” he says.

I nod because he is right.

I get out of bed and head into the bathroom.

“Do we need to meet with your council?” I ask before I brush my teeth.

“Nope. We can leave whenever you are ready,” he says.

“What about Javier?” I ask.

“He will be coming with us if that is okay?” he says.

“Of course it is,” I say.

At this point our family grows every other week anyway. One more person isn't going to hurt anything.

I tie my hair into a messy bun and throw on the shorts and shirt I left out for myself last night.

Cole walks in just as I finish getting dressed with the pups and Javier.

“Ready to go?” he asks.

“Yup,” I say.

I grab my phone and send a quick text to Winter telling her to gather everyone to Cole’s office.

I walk to Kairo’s closet door and say the spell and when I open the door I can see inside Cole’s office.

When we step through the portal everybody gasps.

“Holy fuck you are hot,” Winter says to Kairo.

He laughs.

“Um who is this and why does he have a mark that looks like Cole’s?” she adds.

I smile.

“Apparently Kairo is our mate,” I say.

The silence only lasts about three seconds before everyone starts talking at once.

“Ours as in Cole’s mate too?” Leah says.

“Yes mom,” he says.

Leah smiles.

“Finally,” she says.

“Finally?” he asks.

“Yes. After everything with your uncle Selene said you were meant to do so much more and then she told us about the prophecy, but then she said the bond will be strongest when it’s complete and she showed you with two people. I figured she was wrong about it or something changed when you only found Lyric, but he was just hiding in the West,” she says smiling at him.

“I am so sorry about your parents. They were amazing people,” she says to him.

Then she takes his hand.

“You will be mine just like Lyric and Jonathan,” she says kissing his cheek.

Kairo smiles at her.

“Thank you,” he says.

“Okay so why the extended trip?” Winter asks.

“Oh our mate here went into heat literally the next day after Kairo marked her,” Cole says laughing.

“You know Iris and I were wondering why you were the only one of us who haven’t had their heat yet, and this is why,” she says pointing at Kairo.

“Well Ly, two Greek gods for mates. Look who’s winning,” she says grinning.

“I hate you,” I say automatically.

“Are you done?” I ask shaking my head.

“No because Summer would be shitting bricks to know you had two hotter mates waiting for you outside of the pack. The irony of it all is amazing,” she says.

“Okay now I’m done. Welcome to the chaos Kairo,” she says.

Almost immediately a few pups run past the office screaming while someone yells for them to stop climbing on furniture.

Kairo watches them disappear down the hallway and I have to bite back a laugh.

Yeah, he has absolutely no idea what he signed up for.

This is only the beginning. After everything with Summer and with Mason and then the potential war and being kidnapped by David, this moment right here with both of my mates and my family feels like all of that happened to lead me right here.

I look around the office at everyone talking over each other and smiling.

A few months ago I was chained in a basement wondering if I was going to survive.

Now Winter is making inappropriate comments, Hannah is hopping from lap to lap, my mates are both standing beside me, and somehow this became my life.

It's messy.

It's loud.

It's completely insane.

And I love every second of it.
