The Lunar Queen Chapter 90

Cole POV

He looks up and smiles at me.

“So you found her, does she even remember who you are?” He says smiling.

Even chained at my feet he still says her name like she belongs to him. Zeus slams against my skin so hard my claws almost push through.

Jonathan walks up the moment he finishes the sentence and his eyes go wide with anger.

He tries to move to attack him but Hunter grabs the shackles behind him pulling him back down.

Dominic walks over with Jace.

“All the rogues that we found in the cabin are malnourished, some have been severely beaten or assaulted. The pups need medical care and food. Two of the elders that were there didn’t make it and we found a girl chained to a bed inside the house” Dominic says.

The air around me goes cold. Pups. Elders. A chained girl. This sick bastard really turned this place into hell and called himself a king.

I look at Jonathan.

“His loyal warriors did what they wanted here” he says.

“How the fuck are you alive, I left you for dead. You have eleven silver wounds. How?” David snarls at him.

Jonathan smirks.

“The moon goddess didn’t want me to die and then my brother saved my life” he says.

David looks between me and him.

“You are his brother?” He asks through gritted teeth.

I walk closer and crouch down and smirk.

“He is my brother and my mate knows exactly who I am, she never forgot. She was faking everything with you” I say low to him.

His face drains instantly. Not because he lost her. Because she never wanted him to begin with.

He tries to lunge forward and I grab him by the throat.

“You don’t have anything. The bear King is dead, the witch is dead, my mate is back where she belongs and you are exactly where you have always belonged at my feet kneeling” I snarl in his face.

His pulse jumps wildly against my palm and for the first time since I met him I smell fear. Real fear.

“Pack him up and let’s get ready to head home. Burn this entire settlement to the ground” I say to Dominic walking back towards the medical tent.

Flames are already starting to spread through the smaller buildings behind us. Good. Let this entire fucking place disappear.

Tobias falls into step next to me.

“What are you going to do with him?” He asks.

“My mate deserves the opportunity to get her chance to get her revenge before he dies” I say to him.

He nods his head.

“Well we will be staying for a while because now that Lyric is here Tabby won’t leave” he says.

We both laugh at that.

“I hope you ready to hand the reins over because good luck trying to keep her away from Lyric, people are just drawn to her” I say to him.

That’s the thing about my mate. People don’t just love her. They orbit her.

When we get back to the tent Joshua is standing outside the tent.

“You can stand down she’s safe” I say to him.

He nods and takes a knee.

“Thank you Alpha but my wolf won’t allow me to move” He says and I smile at him and clap his shoulder.

“Come inside, she would like to see you, where is Henry?” I ask him.

He nods his head behind me and Henry is standing guard a few feet behind me.

I wave him over.

“Alpha” He says.

“Join us” I say to him.

When we step into the tent Lyric is holding our two boys in her arms walking around the tent.

The second I see her holding them something in my chest settles for the first time in weeks. This. This is what all the bloodshed was for.

“Omg Joshua, Henry I’m so happy you two are okay” she says walking to put the babies down.

She hugs them each.

She steps back and looks at Joshua and Henry.

“Do you guys really want to be my personal guards?, Joshua you should rebuild your pack, they all think you fell with the pack” She says.

I finally really look at him.

“Wait Alpha Joshua Hale of Black Moon Pack” I say.

He bows.

“Yes Alpha” he says.

“You don’t want to rebuild?” I ask “We can help” I add.

He shakes his head.

“My wolf has pledged his loyalty to the Queen and feels this is where we belong” He says.

He and Henry both take a knee.

“If you will have us my Queen, we would like to serve as your personal guards it will be our honor” Joshua says.

Lyric’s eyes glow purple and she takes both of their wrists and a purple crescent moon appears on their wrists.

Magic hums through the tent so thick it makes the hair on my arms rise.

“Now you are bound to me, you will be able to find me anywhere, sense me, feel if I am hurt, thank you for your service to me” her and Nova’s voice bleeds together.

Their eyes flash to their wolves.

“My Queen” their wolves say in unison.

“Okay where is my brother in-law his mate is waiting for him” She says and Jonathan walks into the tent and Seraphina jumps into his arms.

“I’m so happy you are okay” she cries in his arms.

Jonathan holds her like he’s scared somebody will rip her away if he loosens his grip even a little.

Lyric walks over to me.

“Can we go home now?, I need to see my sisters” She says.

I kiss her forehead.

“Of course princess” I say to her.

I don’t think she realizes yet how hard it’s going to be to get rid of me after this. She’s not leaving my sight for a long fucking time.

I’m so happy to have her back that I just want to stay here in this moment.

When we get back I’m locking her in our room for a week.

I step outside the tent.

“Our Queen and heirs are safe and the battle is over, I thank all of you for fighting by my side to bring my mate and pups home, let’s go home” I say to the wolves and they all howl in celebration.

The sound shakes through the entire settlement.

Victory. Relief. Home. Every wolf here feels it.

“Wait where is Ivana?” Lyric says urgency in her voice.

“Who is Ivana love?” I ask.

“She is David’s mate, she should have been in the house” She says.

“We cleared the house Luna” Dominic says.

“No, she has to be in there somewhere” she says panic lacing her voice.

The fear hits her so fast it slams into me through the bond.

She sees Hunter walking David to the convoy.

She walks over to them and David smiles.

“I knew you would miss me” He says smiling wider.

Her eyes glow purple and he’s being lifted off the ground.

The air around us changes instantly. Every wolf nearby goes dead silent.

“Where is she?” she snarls.

“You won’t find her” he says laughing.

She smiles wickedly at him.

“You think you can keep secrets from me?” she asks.

She walks closer to him and grabs his head and he screams out in pain.

Her eyes begin to bleed.

Blood drips down her cheeks and pure rage rolls off her in waves so violent even Zeus goes still watching her.

“You evil son of a bitch” she screams at him and before anyone can make a move she breaks his back mid air.

He screams in pain.

“you don’t deserve to live another second, she didn’t deserve you as a mate, you evil fucking bastard” She says before his entire body is ripped apart mid air.

Bones crack. Flesh tears. Blood sprays across the ground while wolves around us stumble back in shock.

She runs towards the house and I follow behind her.

She runs up to a room all the way on the top floor and bursts through the door.

She moves a table out of the way and the rug underneath it and a trap door is hidden underneath it.

She breaks the door and a girl is chained in there.

The smell hits me instantly. Blood. Fear. Rot. She’s been trapped down there for a long time.

She breaks the chains and pulls her out tears in her eyes.

“Omg Ivana I’m so sorry, I didn’t know he had you in here. He’s dead” She says and the girl breaks down crying.

“Thank you for searching for me” she cries.

“I told you I will help you and you are meant to be part of my life” she says tears in her eyes.

Even after everything done to her my mate still finds room in her heart for other people.

“Come on your mom is waiting for you” Lyric says taking her hand.

“Our mate is special” Zeus says in my mind.

“Yes she is” I say.

Now that David is dead we can finally move on with our lives.

But even as I look at my mate standing there holding another broken soul together, Selene’s words keep clawing at the back of my mind. One more obstacle.

I was hoping to torture him a bit before taking his life but my mate beat me to it.

And somehow I know David dying wasn’t the end of this. It was only the beginning. The second Selene said one more obstacle my mind went straight to Mason and the sick feeling sitting in my chest tells me I’m right.

One more obstacle.

And something tells me it’s already waiting for us at home.
