The Lunar Queen Chapter 69
Jonathan POV
I sped back alone to the pack, a gnawing doubt tugging at me. I’d signed up for this chaos, but now it feels wrong—especially with pups involved.
Not weak wrong—heavy wrong. The kind that sits in your chest and won’t move.
I told David that Seraphina’s claimed mate bond was fake, but it’s not. She’s my mate, and now I’m trapped.
Every lie I told just locked me deeper in.
I never imagined I’d be in a position to kill her.
I need to find a way to help the queen, so she’ll help us—help me.
Not everyone wants this war, but when you’re a rogue, packs see you as an outsider.
Like you don’t deserve peace. Like you don’t deserve a future.
Still, David’s losing it lately, though he still treats us like people.
Some of us just want to live quietly, with our mates and pups.
I can’t go to the king; he’d kill me on sight.
But maybe I can help the queen while she’s here—find a way to get her out, and maybe she’ll take some of us with her.
It’s a risk. But staying here is a death sentence anyway.
My mind drifts to the moment they brought her out—the paintings of Eloise only hinted at her beauty. Lyric, though, she is breathtaking.
Not just pretty—powerful. Like the room shifts around her.
I understand why David wants her as his mate.
I pull out my phone and call Seraphina.
“Hello,” she answers softly.
“Baby, I’m on my way back,” I say.
“Jon, my mom’s been trying to reach me. I can’t hide from her forever. She’ll figure out I'm here,” she replies frantically.
“I’ve got a plan. I need more time, but I have a plan,” I assure her.
Even if I’m building it as I go.
“We need to move fast, because if she gets the queen, everything’s over,” she warns.
“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure she stays with us. Then, she’ll help us,” I promise.
I have to believe that. Otherwise none of this makes sense.
“Why would she do that?” she questions.
“Because we’re going to help her,” I reply firmly.
“I’ll make sure she doesn’t get the memory potion when I get back. I’ll also try to find a way to swap out the magic blocker,” I add, feeling a surge of determination.
Every step has to be quiet. One mistake and we’re dead.
I can’t let this war take more innocent lives. Nobody else should die just so David can get what he wants.
“We have to get her out before she gives birth, Jon. If she goes into labor, getting her and the pups out will be tough,” she warns.
Shit, I forgot she was pregnant.
Not just a queen. Not just power. There are lives tied to her.
“That might not be possible; we’ll have to find a way after she’s had the pups—just in case,” I say hesitantly.
I don’t like that plan. Not at all.
“Look, we’re pulling into the compound now. Stay hidden. I’ll come find you soon,” I say, ending the call.
Time to put my plan into motion.
David POV
She was unconscious throughout the entire ride to the compound, giving me the opportunity to plan precisely how I want this to unfold.
Taking her memory is the safest option. If I mute her bond with Cole, she'll still remember him and the pups she carries. Removing her memory grants me a month to make her believe she is mine.
A month is all I need to reshape everything.
I smooth her hair from her face, admiring her beauty.
Up close, she is breathtaking. My father often spoke of Eloise's beauty in paintings, but this surpasses that.
This is better. This is real. This is mine.
I place my hand on her belly; her pups move fiercely. The moment I move, they stop.
Interesting.
They already recognize me as a threat. Good. Strong bloodline.
Upon arrival at the compound, the car halts. I take a moment to appreciate our progress.
Once she's accustomed to me, I will take her to the runes, Frances has already shown me how to reach them from the other side of the border.
Jonathan approaches and opens my door.
"Alpha," he says.
"Take her to the room we've prepared. I need to speak with Axel and Agora about our next move," I command.
"Yes, Alpha," he responds, carefully lifting her from the back seat.
Careful. Like she’s fragile. She’s not. She’s power.
As I head to my office, Axel and Agora are already waiting, good.
"Now, we move to the next phase of our plan: obtaining the magic for a full-scale attack," I declare.
"We have the Queen, giving us the advantage," I add.
"Where is she?” Agora asks.
"She is being moved to a secure location," I answer, watching her intently.
Too eager. She’s always too eager when it comes to the girl.
"So she is here?” she presses.
"She is somewhere safe, that's all you need to know," I state.
"Any updates on the council?” I inquire.
Jonathan enters just as I speak.
"One of our insiders reports the king slaughtered the entire council after discovering the Queen was missing. He took Frances’s daughter and his gamma to the cells. He's planning to torture them until the Queen returns to punish them," Jonathan reports.
I nod in acknowledgment.
"I didn’t expect him to kill the entire council," I say.
"He surprised me," I admit.
But not enough to stop me.
"In two weeks, we'll go to the runes to force her to unlock them," I affirm.
"What about the pups?” Agora asks.
"What about them?” I reply.
"What will you do with them?” she demands.
"We will raise them together," I state firmly.
End of discussion.
A flicker of anger crosses her face before she masks it.
There it is. She wants something else. Not the girl. Not the bond. The power.
I may need to use Lyric’s powers to uncover the witch’s intentions.
"Is that all, sir?” she asks.
"Yes, that’s all," I respond. She stands and quickly leaves.
"Axel, stay a moment," I call.
"The witch is plotting against me. I have scouts watching her because I need to know what she's doing behind our backs," I insist.
"Your son is still at the palace. What are our plans for him when the attack commences?" I demand.
"He has chosen his side," Axel replies.
"Very well. In two weeks, we march to the tombs and launch our assault," I conclude.
"Good. See you in two weeks, David," Axel says as he departs.
I want to visit Lyric, but I know she's probably still unconscious.
Later.
Let her wake up confused. Easier to mold that way.
“I link my little toy: 'Ivana, come to my office.'
Moments later, the door creaks open, and she slips inside, her heels clicking softly on the floor.
I lean back in my leather chair, unzipping my pants and pulling out my hardening cock, letting it spring free against my thigh. Her eyes widen, but she doesn't hesitate—good girl.
Not her. Never her. Just a placeholder.
"Suck my cock and then get out," I command, my voice low and unyielding.
She drops to her knees in front of my desk, her skirt riding up her thighs as she crawls closer. Her soft hands wrap around my shaft, and she leans in, parting her lips to take the head into her warm, wet mouth.
I close my eyes, imagining those stunning green eyes gazing up at me, full of submission and need.
Lyric’s eyes. Always Lyric’s eyes.
I tangle my fingers in her hair, gripping the back of her head firmly, and start thrusting into her mouth. My cock slides deeper, bumping against the back of her throat with each push. The wet, choking sounds of her gagging fill the room, spurring me on harder.
"Fuck, your mouth feels so damn good, Lyric," I growl, tightening my hold on her hair until she whimpers around my length.
Her muffled cries vibrate against me, but I ignore them, bucking my hips upward to force myself even deeper.
Saliva drips down her chin as she struggles to take it all, her throat convulsing around my cock.
The pressure builds fast, hot and insistent, and I pin her head in place, not letting her pull back.
With a deep groan, I erupt, pumping thick ropes of cum straight down her throat, making her swallow every drop.
Finally, I shove her off me, my cock slipping free with a slick pop.
She gasps for air, wiping her mouth, but I don't give her a second to recover.
"Get the fuck out," I snarl, pointing to the door.
She scrambles to her feet, smoothing her skirt with trembling hands, and hurries out, the door clicking shut behind her.
Silence settles back in—but it doesn’t calm anything. Not anymore.
