Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 13

When I first laid eyes on her, my instincts kicked in and before I knew it, I was throwing that guard into the wall. Though I know that my wolf has something to do with this, I cannot let on that I am not the one in control. “Damn mate bond, already causing trouble,” I say to myself in my head. The Alpha comes in and things begin to get heated. At some point, I sent my Beta to escort her to get her things because she was coming with us. When I made that decision, I did not know because that was definitely not the plan. Well, I could find something for her to do in my pack I guess, because I’ve already made up my mind to make Trinity the Luna. A mate will want to actually have that role and I cannot allow that because my pack needs no one else but me to lead them. 

While they were gone, I tried hard to reign in my anger towards what I saw them doing to the girl. I refuse to call her my mate. The last thing I need is to allow this bond to strengthen between us or give her any hope of us being together. Alpha Conrad was saying something, but all I could think about was the fact that my Beta and that girl were alone in her room. That thought had his feet moving on their own, and he followed her scent of caramel apples to her room. He stood outside as he listened to her tell his Beta about how they had treated her here and about an inheritance, but what intrigued him the most was what she said about being able to defy Alpha commands. No wonder she talked to him the way she did when he commanded her and also why she got so pissed. It seemed that there is more to his mate than he thought. 

Talon was right though. I didn’t like what I heard about how they treated her, but not because she is my mate. I do not condone that kind of treatment towards pack members. I’m quite cruel and ruthless. Some would even say that I am borderline sadistic, but never have I hurt my pack members. My job as their Alpha is to protect them, sometimes even from each other. I do not allow anyone to harm another pack member and any that do will be punished. We are a family and I understand that families do not always get along, but there is no need for violence amongst each other. Besides, if I did try to harm any of them, my mother would probably kill me. As powerful as I am, my mother is the scariest wolf I know, and she is one of the only people to have my utmost respect. 

Once all her things are gathered, she heads downstairs and I talk to Talon. No sooner than we started to discuss what would happen when we left here, then we heard a ruckus downstairs. “Damnit, can this girl not go five minutes without getting into something?” I said out loud to no one in particular. Talon and I make it downstairs in time to see her grab Amelia by the hair and drag her outside. Alpha Conrad and his mate move to interfere but stop when they see me glaring at them. She is my mate, which in their minds makes her my Luna. Therefore, they won’t risk angering me. This visit actually turned out to be amusing, but I am ready to get back to my pack now. 

Talon mind-links the warriors and drivers to have them gather our things and put them into the cars waiting outside. We stand outside and watch as my mate attacks and defends herself against Amelia. I’m quite impressed with her fighting skills and, with some training, she could be as good as my elite warriors. Maybe that’s what I could do for her. I’ll allow her to train and become one of my elite warriors. As I'm thinking this over in my head, I hear a ripping sound and look up to see that Amelia’s friends have joined in the fight and one of them ripped the back of Tiyanna’s shirt, revealing so many scars on her back. The only way that scars don’t heal all the way is if wolfsbane was used. 

My eyes turn black and all I see is red. Black, my wolf, is growling in my head and screaming at me to kill whoever did this to our mate. Talon is holding onto my arm and saying something to me, but I’m gone and all I see is red. A thunderous growl leaves my lips and everyone that isn’t my mate bows their necks in submission. I see Alpha Conrad and his mate each have fear on their faces and the girls holding my mate are trembling. Slowly, I walked towards them and grabbed my mate. 

“Who did this to you?” I asked her. 

“Can we just go?” she says to me. 

“Not until you tell me how you got these scars on your back.” my wolf says as he has taken over. I saw her wolf surge forward through her eyes. 

“They did this to us. The entire pack was involved, but mostly the Alpha family. They beat us, whipped us, starved us, put us in the dungeon, and on certain occasions they used knives and whips dipped in silver, which is why there are scars on our back.” her wolf tells me and my wolf growls in anger. 

“Give me back control, Black. Trust me, they are going to pay.” I said to my wolf. 

“They had better, or I’ll never forgive you,” he said to me.
