Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 72

(Past) 

During the battle, while the Rogue leader lay dying, he told us a bit of information that we found quite shocking and interesting. First of all, Cameron’s first mate was his daughter, and he was seeking revenge against Cameron for her death. A part of me felt sympathy for him, but that doesn’t excuse what he has done. I don’t believe for a second that she blamed Cameron or his father for what happened to her. I also do not believe that she would have wanted her father to kill a bunch of people in her name. Now I know that sounds weird coming from me, but my situation is different. Alpha Conrad was behind my parents’ deaths, and he will pay for that as well as his other crimes, which leads me to the second bit of information that he gave us.  

“Alpha Conrad is the mate of Trinity. That is how we received all the information on your pack and Luna. Also, with the help of Mark, your Luna’s ex-mate, so if you want to find Conrad, then start with her.” He said right before his eyes rolled back and his last breath was taken. 

“He already had a mate, and I doubt that he would be interested in Trinity after losing his first mate the way he did. I wasn’t planning on killing her, but she got in my way and my wolf was in control.” I said to Cameron. 

“Well, we’re both proof that having a second chance mate is possible. The more important part is that now we have a way of finding that coward.” he said. 

“Yeah, exactly my thoughts as well. How do you start all of this mess and then run away before the fighting starts? Then again with his track record it is to be expected. I mean he used others to kill my parents. He’s never done anything with his own two hands including manual labor.” I said. 

“Well, when we get back, after things settle with the prisoners, we can interrogate her and find out what she knows about his whereabouts.” said Cameron. 

“That’s her mate though, so she’d probably rather die than tell us anything. Hell, she’d rather do that even if he wasn’t her mate. She’d never say anything to help me when I’m the reason her fairytale ending with you didn’t come true.” I say back to him. 

“There are ways to get her to talk.” he says before we turn and head back to the packhouse to check on our injured soldiers. 

After we’ve made sure that everyone is okay, we head upstairs to our room to shower and change before going to the dungeon to have a little chat with Trinity. When we arrive, she lights up when she sees Cameron, but as soon as I step into her line of sight a scowl comes onto her face. I simply smirk at her and cross my arms over my chest. We discussed how to handle this situation, and the decision was to let him do all of the talking. Of course I’d rather just beat the hell out of her, but then we wouldn’t get the information we need from her. Though I did argue that it would make me happy, he still said no.  

“Why the hell are you both here? I have nothing to say to either of you, especially her.” she paid pointing at me. 

“I have nothing to say to you as well, but for whatever reason Cameron thought that I should come along for this little trip.” I said back nonchalantly. “Believe me, I’d much rather be somewhere else doing anything other than looking at your pathetic face right now.” I said to her. 

“Enough, both of you. I didn’t come down here to listen to the two of you fight with each other. Trinity, I need you to do something for me and maybe I’ll think about setting you free.” said Cameron. I turned and looked at him with shock on my face. 

“What the hell do you mean set her free? Cameron she will never be set free as long as I live and am Luna of this pack!” I scream at him. He turned to look at me with a cold look on his face. I hadn’t seen that look  since we finally mated with each other. 

“Maybe you’ve forgotten exactly who I am Tiyanna, so let me remind you.”  He grabbed my neck and slammed me against the wall near the cell. “I am the Alpha of Black Diamond pack and the most ruthless Alpha to ever live so do not let your title and our mating fool you into believing that I’ve gone soft at all because that mistake will be costly.” He let me go and I dropped to the floor gasping for breath. When I could finally breath without coughing, I stood up and looked at him with as much hatred as I could muster before telling him what was on my mind. 

“I haven’t forgotten who you are, but obviously you’ve forgotten who I am otherwise you never would have done what you just did to me. I’m your mate and the Luna of this pack and you will never put your hands on me again or I’ll kill you.” I said to him with as much venom as I could given that my voice was so hoarse. 

“Then maybe you shouldn't be my mate and Luna anymore. I mean I never wanted one anyway and if it wasn’t for our wolves, I wouldn’t have one.” He smirked while I looked at him with a stunned expression. How could he say this and in front of Trinity. 

“Cameron, you don't mean that so why are you saying this to me? We’ve been making great progress in our relationship, and I even gave myself to you. Please don’t tell me you’ve only been pretending just to take my virginity? I mean even you wouldn’t be cruel enough to do that to me, right?” I asked him with tears threatening to fall while I wait for him to answer. 

“Well, since you asked, taking your virginity was a bonus but not the reason I’ve been with you that was all my wolf. I needed a Luna to get the elders and pack off my back and since Trinity was no longer in the running due to you and your damn wolf, I figured that you should be her replacement. I had to treat you nice because of my mother and sister. Don’t look at me like that, I mean I’ve never told you that I love you or even share a bed with you other than to have sex, so how could you think there was more between us?” He said so coldly that the tears I’d been holding back fell without my permission. I turned and ran from the room but not before I say something that looked like hurt in his eyes or maybe that was just my heart wanting to see that he cared.
