Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 26
Within minutes, I hear wolves howling all around me and I know that I am surrounded. He doesn’t even want me so why is he going through all of this to bring me back? None of this is making any sense to me. I stop running and drop my bag and wait for him or one of his warriors to step out and take me back. A grey wolf comes out of the woods and walks to me while shifting back. He’s a handsome man with sandy blonde hair and a bulky physique, and he has some power rolling off of him but not as strong as Talon or Cameron. I’m guessing he is the Gamma. He smiles at me before extending his hand to shake and introduces himself as Gamma Eric.
“The Alpha told us to bring you back miss Tiyanna. Please come with me.” he says politely.
“Is everyone here polite except for the Alpha and so-called future Luna?” I ask him.
“Uh, well, I guess that depends on who you talk to miss. Now, please come with me.” He grabs my arm and I sigh grabbing my bag, but as I bend to grab the handle, a huge black wolf barrels into Eric knocking him away from me and pins him to a nearby tree.
I know the wolf is my mate, but why is he acting this way towards his Gamma? Through the bond, I can feel anger and something else but I can’t put my finger on it and nor do I have time. Cameron is snapping and snarling at the man and if I don’t do something he’ll tear his head off. Quickly, I drop the bag and shift into my silver wolf just in time to slam into Cameron before he kills his own Gamma. He quickly recovers and turns to look at me and begins to charge when I see his eyes go from green to black symbolizing his wolf has taken over right before his jaws clamp on my neck causing him to barrel into me and the force sends us rolling further into the forest.
Once we stop rolling, my wolf stands up and takes a defensive stance in case he tries to attack us. When he gets up, his wolf slowly walks over to mine and licks her muzzle before rubbing his body against her and she purrs and prances inside my head. “Well, it seems like your mate wants you at least.” I say to her inside my head. “He’s telling me that our mate is scared and that’s why he doesn’t want a mate. It has nothing to do with us.” my wolf says to me. What could he possibly be scared of? I ask myself.
Deciding to let them spend some time together, I try to think about what is happening between Cameron and myself. If I’m honest, right now I don’t think I have time for a mate. My priority needs to be making Conrad and that pack pay for their mistreatment of me for all those years. My mind wanders to how good my life was before my parents died. The pack was thriving and everyone was happy, not to mention we barely had any rogue attacks. I remember asking my father to train and he said that he would start my Beta training soon but he wanted me to focus on school for the time being.
After about an hour, I feel my wolf starting to recede and giving me back control. When she is gone, I take off running towards where I believe the border is once again. I’ve made up my mind to leave and that is exactly what I’m going to do, but before I can get far enough away, my mate’s wolf jumps on my back and growls menacingly at me. He nips at my neck just hard enough to let me know that I shouldn’t challenge him and to do as he says. I lay underneath him pissed at myself for even going with him in the first place then I wouldn’t be dealing with this now. I huff and transform back to my human form so that I can wiggle away from him easier. Once I’m back as a human, he slowly gets off of me and transforms as well. I turn away from him and sniff the air before I start walking back the way we came.
“Why the hell did you run away?” he asks me and I keep walking ignoring him. He grabs my arm and turns me to face him.
“What do you want?” I shout at him.
“Do not take that tone with me.” He growls.
“Then quit aggravating me and let go of my arm.” I growl back.
“Just because my wolf likes yours don’t get any ideas; I’ll still kill you. Now answer my question.”
“Get any ideas about what exactly? Did it look like I got any ideas when I tried to get away from you for the second time tonight? Don’t flatter yourself Alpha, and to answer your question, I left to get away from your whore and so I don’t break your little rules.” I say sarcastically.
“Watch your mouth! She is not a whore.”
“Right, I forgot. She isn’t a whore, but your future Luna.” I roll my eyes. “I guess it is a good thing your pack has you to lead them.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” he asks.
“Cameron you can’t be that blind. Look around and talk to your people. None of them like that girl and yet you’re going to make her your Luna. She’s going to run that pack into the ground if anything were to ever happen to you.” I say to him.
