Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 47
“I’m the one that will determine the future of your company. Now I have a question for you before I tell you, my decision. Oh, and you might want to watch your tone.” Her eyes narrow and I chuckle.
“Only I can determine the future of my company. Don’t be mistaken, my company has done wonderful without your assistance for years and has flourished even more under my leadership, so this deal would be nice but isn’t needed. Besides, if I ever ran into any problems in the future, I’m sure I could always ask my mate for help.” She says with confidence though she doesn’t say the last part as loud as the rest not knowing that I can hear her. A part of me is proud that she trusts me enough that she would come to me for help given how I’ve treated her.
“Actually, I could crush your company without a second thought, but that wouldn’t be beneficial to me. Anyway, I didn’t ask you here for this annoying banter.” I say to her before yawning in a bored manner.
“Why did you ask me here? You could have just told my company manager what you’ve decided.”
“I wanted to know why you didn’t present the proposal? You’re the one that put it together so wouldn’t it make better sense to be the one to present the information. Do you know what would happen if the wrong thing was said or if I hadn’t done my own research? Automatic refusal is what would have happened and then how would you feel. By the way, your mate wouldn’t be able to help you if anything had happened unless he was me.” I say with a smirk.
“My presence was needed elsewhere, and my manager is more than capable of handling the presentation. We went over it together enough and I was and still am more than confident in his abilities to pull off a great presentation. If anything had gone wrong, then I would have just taken the loss. Like I said, your acceptance of the proposal would be appreciated and beneficial but is not needed for my company to continue doing well. As for my mate, believe me when I say that he could definitely help me and he isn’t you.” She said with a smirk on her face.
“Oh, really? And who is this mate of yours that you believe could help you? Nobody is better in the business world than I am, so if he is so great then why didn’t you go to him in the first place?” I ask her. I really want to know her answer. Her smirk goes away and she hesitates before answering.
“That’s not important. Are you going to tell me what your decision is now?” She asks instead. Oh, you’re not getting out of this that easily.
“Answer my question and then I’ll tell you.”
“My mate is Alpha Cameron of the Black Diamond pack and the most powerful Alpha in North America.” she states sounding proud.
“That’s funny because I heard he did find his mate, yet he hasn’t claimed her and made her his Luna. It is widely known that he doesn’t want a real Luna. What makes you think that he would help you?”
“I’m a member of his pack and he wants us all to be successful, so mate or not, he would help me.” She no longer sounds as confident as she did earlier, and I decided to quit messing with her. I turn away from her and take off the mask then slowly turn back to face her.
“You’re right about me helping you because you are a pack member, but I would mostly help you because you are my mate whether I want you as my Luna or not though,” I say and watch as her eyes almost bug out of her head.
“C-C-C-Cameron? What are you doing here?”
“Tiyanna you're a smart woman so playing stupid now doesn’t suit you. Though I didn’t realize how smart you were until I read your proposal. Anyway, we can discuss this at home but as far as the proposal goes, I’ve decided to accept your offer. We can sign everything in my office at home. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have somewhere else to be, but I’ll be home for dinner, and we can talk after. Please try to stay out of trouble until I get back. No fights. Actually, I think I’ll have someone confine Trinity to her room until I return just in case.” For some reason, I lean in and kiss her cheek before putting my mask back on and leaving the office.
“Yeah, what the hell did just happen?” I ask myself as the floors zoom by, heading back down to the lobby.
