Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 46
Alpha Cameron’s POV
I got up earlier than usual this morning to go for a run before getting ready for my meeting. I’m grateful that Tiyanna will be out of the pack today, so I won’t have to come home to a dead pack member when she eventually kills Trinity. How did things end up so out of control in my pack? It's that damn girl. Why did I bring her back here? Hell, why did I even go to that damn Red Dawn pack in the first place? Oh, that’s right. I stupidly let Talon convince me to go for political reasons and ended up finding my mate. What were the odds of that happening? Now she is a member of my pack and things are not getting any easier. Tiyanna and Trinity are at each other, my mother and sister keep telling me to let Trinity go and accept Tiyanna, and on top of all of that, I still have to find out who is behind the attack on them at the mall as well as the rebellion to take me down. Only Talon knows about that last part. The less people that know, the less likely of information getting leaked. He’s the only one I trust at the moment.
After I shower and change into a black suit and tie, I meet Talon and two of my guards downstairs and get into the awaiting car. We drive in silence as they all know I don’t like engaging in mindless chitchat especially before a business meeting. The ride to this place takes about thirty minutes and ends too quickly. For some reason I’m feeling anxious about this meeting. The owner of the company seems almost as mysterious as I am and very capable of running her business at a young age. I research anyone I'm doing business with, and though I couldn't get her name, I did find out that her parents owned the company before they passed and then she took over when she turned 18. They tell me that she is the one that did the proposal for this meeting, and I must say that I was very impressed with her research and sales pitch, but I’m also told that she will not be presenting the information on today. The only reason I agreed to this meeting was to meet this mysterious lady. The truth is that I've already decided to take the deal.
Before entering the building, I put on my mask and we walk up to the receptionist desk and get passes but after I tell them who I am, the receptionist immediately calls someone and soon there’s a blonde woman exiting an elevator and quickly making her way to us. “I am so sorry for not being here to greet you sir. Please follow me and I’ll take you straight to the meeting room. Everyone else has already gathered and are awaiting you sir.”
We follow her to the elevators at the far end of the hall and she pulls out a special key once we’re inside. When the doors open on the top floor, she leads us to a meeting room, and I take the only seat available. The one giving the presentation hands me a folder with all the information, which I’ve already read due to my own investigation, and starts the PowerPoint presentation and pitch. I zone out as I smell something that catches my attention. The scent is faint but if I didn’t know better, I’d say that is the scent of my mate. Didn’t she say that she had a meeting today? What reason would she have to be here? As my mind continues to wander throughout the presentation, I think the impossible before dismissing the idea. She couldn’t possibly be the owner of this company let alone the genius mind behind this promising proposal.
The meeting finally ends and we all shake hands, but for some reason I still feel anxious. After everyone has gone, I approach the manager and tell him that I’ve made my decision then whisper to him that I will only tell the owner. He goes on to tell me that she isn’t available, and I smirk before telling him that she either becomes available or I will definitely decline the deal and ruin her company. He turns pale as a sheet and quickly leaves the room. I chuckle to myself quietly before instructing my guards to wait outside the door.
The scent hits my nose long before the door bursts open and she walks in with no fear and eyes blazing in anger. I laugh inside my head. I'm guessing she didn’t like the threat against her company. My scent as well as my face has been hidden as it is the only way to conceal who I really am from the business world, but there is no mistake at all now that she is in front of me as to who this person really is and I’m pleasantly surprised.
“Who the hell do you think you are to threaten my company?!” she yells.
