Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 44

“I’m going to go for a run. I’ll see you all later at dinner.” I say as I head to the forest and strip out of my clothes before changing into my wolf and racing through the forest.  

The run did my wolf and I a lot of good letting out some built up energy that I had no idea how to let out. Training would have been a good release, but I wasn’t in the mood to see any of the pack members or possibly run into my ex-mate. The last thing I needed was another altercation with him or one of Trinity’s friends. I’m starting to feel like staying here is not a good idea after all and I should just leave. Tomorrow I’m going to head into the office and check on the business which should give my mind something else to think about other than my wayward mate and his slut.  

For the next few weeks there have been no incidents and work has been going great. There is a proposal that we are trying to close on with a very huge client, but the client is being very stubborn in the negotiations. No one has ever seen this person so all negotiations have been done through conference calls and emails, but for some reason he has finally agreed to meet in person with us this Friday. Well, he said he would only attend the meeting if I was there otherwise there would definitely be no deal.  

Today I am sitting in the sun room having some chamomile tea and reading one of my favorite books when I smell his scent coming down the hall. He hardly ever comes in here so I’m wondering if he is just passing through as the hall outside of this room is a short cut to his conference room. Taking a sip of my tea, I ignore the feeling to get up and meet him due to the bond and instead relax back into my seat and continue reading. Today I am taking time to relax because in two days I would be meeting with one of the most ruthless business men and I have to make this deal in order to grow my company. We are doing great in profits, but there is always room for better and partnering with this company could help my company do just that in the long run. They would also benefit, because I am willing to give some shares in my company as well. Of course, I will always have the most shares as there will be no taking over my company, but I feel I had to offer something to sweeten the pot so to speak. 

“Tiyanna!” I hear him call my name and look up into those beautiful eyes staring at me with a hint of frustration and concern. 

“Uh, yeah. I’m sorry. I was thinking about some work stuff. What did you say?” I said to him. 

“Must be very important because I’ve called your name more than once and you never heard me, which is strange considering you’re a double Alpha.” he says to me. 

“Yes, it is a very important deal that I am trying to close. What can I do for you Alpha Cameron?” I say while I sit up and cross my legs. I see him follow my motions and then quickly look back up at my face. 

“The reason I came by is to tell you that Friday I’ll be going into the city for a meeting and I don’t know how long I’ll be gone so please try to avoid certain people. I’m going to have Trinity locked in her room until I get back because honestly even with my mother here, I don’t trust her to not do anything.” he said. 

“Well, my meeting is Friday as well so I won’t be here for her to cause me any trouble. As for that other problem, I don’t think he’ll be messing with me ever again after what happened the last time. You do have a reputation for being scary.” I smile at him flirtatiously before catching myself. Why am I flirting with him? He clears his throat and brings me out of my thoughts and I notice he has a smirk on his face. 

“Yes, I’ve heard that about myself.” He stares at me for a minute and I can feel a blush come to my cheeks so I pick up my teacup and take a sip of the tea. “Since we have that figured out, I’ll head to my office now. I hope your meeting goes well.” he says while heading towards the hall. 

“Same to you Alpha.” I say back to him. 

“What just happened? Did we actually have a decent conversation? And was he flirting back with me? I cannot figure this man out.” I say shaking my head as I pick my book up again.
