Alpha Cameron's Vengeful Mate Chapter 22

“I understand and will follow your rules.” I roll my eyes and step out of the car. I mean what could possibly go wrong. 

He gets out of the vehicle after me and there are a group of people now standing outside of the packhouse. I make no move to say anything as I wait to find out who will take me to my room which is where I’d rather be right now. Talon looks over at me and gives me a slight smile before grabbing the hand of a beautiful red-haired woman with gorgeous emerald green eyes and walks over to me. “Tiyanna, this is my beautiful mate, Caroline. Caroline, this is Tiyanna our guest for the night. Would you mind helping her get settled? I believe Cameron is putting her in the Luna suit for the night.” The woman is smiling brightly at me and I can’t help but smile back at her, that is until I hear the low growl of my mate and I stop smiling. Why is he so mean to me? I haven’t done anything to him except try to tell him how I expect to be treated. Don’t I deserve respect? I say to myself. 

“Hi. It is nice to meet you Tiyanna. Talon has told me what happened at your previous pack. It would be nice if you stayed here. You seem like someone I’d get along great with and would love to be friends.” she says still smiling brightly.  

“It is very nice to meet you too, Caroline. Yeah, uh, things at my old pack weren’t great the last few years of my life, but I’m glad to be out and looking forward to my future.” I smile back at her avoiding the part about me staying here. 

“If you change your mind before morning, this really is the best pack if you’re looking for one to join.” she says and I look to Talon who gives me a look saying that she doesn’t know I’m Cameron’s mate and that he doesn’t want me here. 

“I’ll consider it, but honestly, I don’t know if jumping from one pack to another is a good idea right now. Besides, this is the Black Diamond back, and I’m not nearly skilled enough a fighter to join. Your Alpha doesn’t like weakness from what I’ve heard. I’m grateful he and Talon got me out of there but now I should probably start relying on myself instead of others.” I say to her. 

“Caroline, maybe you should show her to her room now. There will be plenty of time to talk to her later if she likes, but she’s had a long day and may want to freshen up before dinner.” says Talon and I silently thank him. 

“Sure, where are my manners. Come on. I’ll show you to your room and then we can talk later.” She smiles at me and we start to walk into the huge mansion when I’m stopped by a screeching voice and I hear a bunch of sighs and murmurs.  

“Caroline, take her to her room quickly. The last thing we need is for that banshee to see her.” says Talon. I wonder who this person is but then I remember the rules and I keep following Caroline into the mansion. Before the door closes behind us, I hear that same voice screaming, “Cameron, what’s this I’m hearing about you coming back with some bimbo?” 

Who the hell was she calling a bimbo? I immediately turned to go back out there when a hand grabbed me and I looked up to see Caroline shaking her head. “Trust me, I want nothing more than to rip her head off, but unfortunately that bitch is protected by Alpha Cameron. She isn’t worth it and you’re only here for tonight so don’t let her get to you. She’s the only bimbo here. That trash has slept with almost every unmated male in the pack and even in some others. Don’t know what he sees in that trashy slut.” She mumbles at the end but I heard her anyway. Hmm, so she’s the reason he doesn’t want a mate. That makes my heart hurt at the realization, but I push down those feelings and keep following Caroline. 

We go up four flights of stairs and finally reach the fifth floor which she told me is the Alpha floor and where his unofficial office is located. The fourth floor is the Beta floor that she shares with Talon and hopefully their kids one day, the third floor is the Gamma floor and the second floor is for guests, though they are hardly ever used because Cameron almost never has allowed anyone to stay here. His mother and sister have a house in the village with some of the other mated couples.  

Once we reach my room which really is next to his room because I can smell his scent coming from beyond the door, she opens the door with a key and we walk into the most beautiful room I’d ever seen. The room is huge and beautifully decorated in yellow and blue making it look like the sky on a summer day. This is exactly how I would have decorated if the room were mine. The furniture was done in soft grey with yellow, blue, and white throw pillows on the sofa, love seat, and arm chair. There were beautiful bay windows on the left side of the room and one had a window seat that I’d love to sit in and listen to music or read books on a rainy day. The opposite walled had a balcony with French doors and there was patio furniture with an umbrella attached for really hot days I’m assuming. There was another door off the sitting room and when we entered the biggest bed was inside with two end tables on each side both with beautiful glass lamps, a vanity complete with mirror and some chairs for sitting. This room was done in the same colors as the sitting room.
