Betrayed and Claimed by the Lycan King Chapter 133

ORION'S POV

I paced across my living room, unable to shake the fury coursing through my veins. The memory of Ezra's callous words during the board meeting kept replaying in my mind. How could he deny his connection to Isolde so coldly? As if she meant nothing to him?

"Those words would tear Isolde to pieces if they ever reached her ears," I muttered, running a hand through my hair in frustration.

The vicious rumors circulating through Silver Moon Tower made my blood boil. Some called her the sex machine because Ezra had summoned her to his penthouse for two consecutive weeks. The whispers in the hallways were becoming more malicious by the day.

I knew better. I had seen the way Ezra looked at her when he thought no one was watching. The Alpha had extremely strong feelings for Isolde—that much was obvious to anyone paying attention. He had practically made her fall in love with him, and now he was refusing to acknowledge and accept her.

What puzzled me most was why. It certainly wasn't because she was a "common werewolf." Despite being the Lycan King and CEO of Silver Moon Group, Ezra had never shown disdain toward werewolves of any rank. His reluctance to claim Isolde stemmed from something else entirely.

The doorbell interrupted my thoughts. I glanced at my watch—nearly midnight. Who would visit at this hour?

When I opened the door, my sister Evanthe stood there, looking as polished as ever despite the late hour.

"What do you want?" I asked, making no effort to hide my annoyance. "It's late. Go home."

Evanthe brushed past me into the apartment, ignoring my words completely. "I can come whenever I want. I've already instructed the old housekeeper to prepare my guest room. I'm staying the night."

My temper flared. I immediately pulled out my phone and dialed. "Hello, Stop whatever preparations Evanthe asked you to make... I know, but the guest room is clean. If she wants to clean it again before sleeping, she can do it herself. Go to bed. It's late... I mean it. Yes. Goodnight."

Evanthe stared at me in disbelief. "Seriously?"

"Yes, seriously. She is not your servant! I've emphasized this to you countless times."

She waved her hand dismissively. "Fine, fine, whatever. I'm not here to argue with you about some mere nanny."

I clenched my jaw but decided to let it go. "Why are you here then?"

Evanthe gracefully settled onto my leather couch. "I heard about the meeting between the board and the main executives of the group."

I remained standing, arms crossed. "And?"

"And I also heard they tried to get Ezra to confirm whether Isolde is his chosen second chance mate, but he gave no response."

My eyes narrowed. "What's your point?"

"His silence means he's uncertain about her," Evanthe said, her eyes gleaming with calculation. "This is the perfect time to shake his feelings."

I shook my head, already disliking where this conversation was heading. "What are you planning, Evanthe?"

"I'm going to talk to the board members." She straightened her posture, looking every bit the public relations director she was. "I need to make them understand that even if Ezra has chosen Isolde, they cannot accept her as Luna."

"And why would you do that?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.

"You told me I could pursue the man of my dreams as long as I didn't hurt Isolde in any way," she reminded me. "Talking to the board, making them oppose her, isn't hurting her. It's simply using business acumen and influence."

I stared at my sister in disbelief. "And you want me to help you with this ridiculous plan?"

"You must help me. You must talk to the board members too. Your word as the security director of the group will carry more weight. If you tell them Isolde is a weak, common werewolf unworthy of becoming Silver Moon's Luna, they'll listen to you."

"I said no!" I thundered, my patience finally snapping. "That will absolutely not happen. Isolde is not weak."

Evanthe scoffed. "She is! She—"

"She's taken your place recently, hasn't she?" I cut in, satisfaction coursing through me when her face flushed with anger. "Isolde's father was the former leader of the Emerald Valley District. She is his eldest daughter. That makes her an Alpha heir. Alpha blood runs in her veins, and there are no weak Alphas."

I moved closer, towering over her. "If you want to lie to the board members, go ahead. Do it yourself. Don't try to drag me into your schemes."

Evanthe stood up, her eyes flashing with fury. "Do you love her or not?"

The question caught me off guard. "What?"

"Then why aren't you seeing this as an opportunity to take her from Ezra?" she demanded.

"Because I don't want to. They love each other, so let them be together."

Evanthe looked at me with disgust. "Don't talk like an idiot, Orion! This is your chance, you fool! If we work together successfully, we can both get what we want."

I stared at her calmly. "You have no idea what I want."

"He still loves me, Orion," Evanthe declared, her voice turning passionate. "A few days ago, I went to his office to see him. We had a huge fight, and in the middle of it, I kissed him... He kissed me back fiercely, then he bent me over his desk and fucked me hard!"

I grimaced at her crude description.

"He still loves me," she insisted. "If he didn't have feelings for me, he wouldn't have slept with me. I will never give up on him because I know he needs me."

"You're delusional!" I exclaimed.

Her eyes grew cold. "When I become Luna of Silver Moon, I won't forget what you said today. I'm going to talk to the board members. I'll convince them myself, and once I succeed, once I become the Lycan Queen, I'll make sure you regret not helping me."

With a mocking bow, I replied, "All hail the future Queen of Silver Moon. I hope you show me no mercy when the time comes."

"Just wait and see," she hissed, slamming the door as she left.

I returned to my couch, a satisfied smile playing on my lips despite the tension of our confrontation. I couldn't wait to see the look on her face when she fail.
