Betrayed and Claimed by the Lycan King Chapter 234
EZRA'S POV
I stared at Evanthe for a long moment, watching that sickeningly sweet smile spread across her face as she continued to live in her delusion. The woman actually thought I'd brought an entire security team here out of concern for her safety. The irony was so thick I could taste it.
"Don't flatter yourself, Evanthe," I said, my voice cutting through her rambling like a blade. Her smile faltered slightly at my tone, confusion flickering in her eyes. "They're here to arrest you."
The words hit her like a physical blow. She gasped, stumbling backward a step, her face draining of color as her mouth fell open in shock.
"Ezra, what do you mean?" Aiden Hawthorne's voice boomed from behind her, stepping protectively closer to his daughter. His confusion was genuine, but I could see that he was already preparing for a fight.
I ignored him completely, my eyes never leaving Evanthe's face as I gestured to my security personnel. They moved forward with practiced precision, their black suits making them look like harbingers of judgment.
The transformation in Evanthe's expression was beautiful to watch. The confident smile melted away like ice in summer, replaced by raw terror. Her eyes darted frantically between her parents and me, searching for some explanation that would make sense of her collapsing world.
"I... I don't understand what's happening," she shrieked, her voice rising to a near-hysterical pitch. "Why are they trying to arrest me? Ezra, what did I do wrong?"
Prime rumbled with satisfaction in my head, and I allowed myself a cold smile. "You really want me to list them all? Because the charges are quite extensive."
"Yes!" Aiden stepped forward. "I want to know what crimes you're alleging my daughter committed, and I want to see evidence supporting your claims."
I straightened, my voice taking on the formal tone. "Very well. Let me enlighten you about your daughter's activities."
Evanthe's mother tried to pull her into a protective embrace, but I continued, my words precise and damning.
"Charge one: Drugging my mate Isolde and orchestrating her assault by multiple pack members with the intent of gang rape."
The blood drained from Evanthe's face so completely I thought she might faint.
"Charge two: Framing other Moon Alliance members for said assault, then murdering one of them to maintain her silence."
"Charge three: During the combat trials, she conspired with Isolde's training partners to poison themselves and frame Isolde for it. She attempted to murder two visiting Alphas from different districts using the same poison. She killed an innocent staff member whose job was to taste-test food at the summit banquet—that makes two murders. She tried to pin all of these crimes on Isolde, and when that plan failed, she ensured another person took the fall for her crimes. That person is currently in prison."
Evanthe's legs seemed to give out. She sagged against her mother, her voice barely a whisper. "No..."
But I wasn't finished.
"Charge four: Falsely claiming that I was the father of her unborn child, attempting to deceive me and the entire pack."
"Charge five: Poisoning herself with silver ion extract to terminate her pregnancy and, once again, framing Isolde for the crime."
I let the silence stretch for a moment, watching as the full weight of her crimes settled over the family. Then I delivered the final blow.
"Now it's time for her to pay for what she's done."
"No!" Evanthe's voice cracked as she shook her head violently, tearing herself free from her mother's arms. She stumbled toward me, her hands reaching out desperately. "No, that's not true!"
I stepped back, avoiding her touch like she was diseased.
"I... I didn't do those things," she sobbed, her voice breaking. "That's not true!"
Despite her denials, despite her tears and her trembling, I felt nothing but cold satisfaction. "Take her away," I commanded.
Aiden tried to intervene, but my security personnel were trained for this. They subdued him easily, pushing him aside as they moved to restrain Evanthe with specialized handcuffs designed for werewolves.
"Ezra, you can't let them do this to me!" Evanthe screamed as the cuffs clicked around her wrists. "These are all lies! I didn't poison myself! Isolde did it! Isolde killed our unborn child! I didn't do anything wrong... let me go! EZRA!"
Her voice echoed off the walls of the estate, but it sounded distant to me, like screaming from another world. Prime purred with deep satisfaction in my mind, finally seeing justice served.
From where he was being restrained, Aiden struggled against the hands holding him, his face red with rage. "I need proof!" he shouted, spittle flying from his lips. "I swear, if you can't prove my daughter committed all the crimes you're accusing her of, I'll bring your empire crashing down. You'll feel my wrath."
His saliva actually hit my face, but instead of anger, I felt a surge of elation. Prime's voice whispered in my head: *Finally, we can punish the betrayer.*
I stepped closer to Aiden, close enough that he could see the dangerous glint in my eyes. "If anyone should feel wrath, it's me, not you," I said quietly, my voice deadly calm. "You better start looking for ice water, because once I set your butt on fire, you're going to need it to cool down."
I paused, letting that sink in before continuing. "The pack leadership, and elders have all been notified. As we speak, they're all heading to the location where your daughter committed her final crime. I expect to see you there very soon, because you wanted evidence? You're going to get it."
Without waiting for a response, I turned on my heel and strode toward my luxury sedan. Orion and Nathaniel fell into step behind me, their faces grim but determined.
As I reached the car, one thought echoed through my mind with crystal clarity: *Let the trial begin.*
I was done with Evanthe's games, done with her manipulations, done with her believing she could outsmart the Lycan King. Today, she would face the consequences of every life she'd destroyed, every lie she'd told, every innocent person she'd hurt.
And I was going to enjoy every second of watching her world burn.
The car door slammed shut behind me, and we pulled away from the Hawthorne estate, leaving behind the echoes of Evanthe's desperate screams. In the rearview mirror, I caught a glimpse of the security convoy following with their prisoner.
Justice, finally, was coming.
