Betrayed and Claimed by the Lycan King Chapter 225

Ezra's POV

I picked up the black leather folder from my desk.

"When Evanthe first told me she was pregnant, I arranged for my personal physician to conduct a test, which showed she was eight weeks along," I began, my voice steady but cold.

"However, I had the doctor who was responsible for Evanthe during her hospitalization secretly perform another pregnancy test. The results showed that before she lost the child, Evanthe was only four weeks pregnant."

I set the folder down and interlaced my fingers, my gaze sharp as it locked onto Orion. "To my knowledge, Evanthe and I last had sexual relations eight weeks ago. Unless my sperm has serious issues, which I highly doubt, there's no way Evanthe could have conceived a month after we were intimate. No sperm can travel that slowly to reach an egg and fertilize it. I suspect she used some kind of drug to initially interfere with the pregnancy test data, and now the effects have worn off. This further proves she used the poison to terminate the pregnancy because that child was never mine."

Thalia's voice rang out in disbelief, "This is absolutely unheard of! How could she deceive an Alpha like this?"

I felt a surge of determination course through me as I continued, "This is exactly why we must expose her. Let the entire Silver Moon Group and the whole pack see her true face. It's time someone pulled her down. This is exactly what we're going to do—show everyone she's nothing more than a fraud who will stop at nothing for power."

Thalia leaned forward, her expression intense. "Nyssa also suggested I find a way to speak with Sybilla, who's being held in the group's underground security area. Sybilla worked for Evanthe for a long time—if anyone knows about the numerous atrocities she's committed, it's her. Those little secrets between them, I have to dig them out."

I nodded, my fingers drumming lightly against the conference table. "Orion will take you to see her whenever you're ready."

"Thank you, Ezra," Thalia replied earnestly. "You know how important this is to us."

Orion's voice cut through the tension, his tone professional but determined. "Also... I plan to see that maid Faye again—the one we detained yesterday. If we can get her to admit to this fact, then we can charge Evanthe with attempted murder. I'll make sure she tells us everything we need during the interrogation."

I looked at him with complete trust. "Do whatever you can. I have faith in your abilities, Orion."

"I won't let you down, Ezra," he replied firmly.

"You never have," I said, allowing a trace of barely perceptible warmth to enter my voice.

Orion's curiosity was evident as he asked, "So, once you have all the evidence you need, what do you plan to do? What's your next step?"

I placed both hands flat on the cold glass surface of the conference table, leaning forward as my gaze drifted toward the city skyline beyond Silver Moon Tower's windows. The view was expansive, but my mind was focused on something far more pressing.

The board of directors, the elders, the Alphas from various districts... Evanthe had successfully convinced them all that she was a flawless Luna candidate. They believed she could do no wrong. She had masterfully positioned herself as a victim time and again, earning their sympathy and favor. But I would put an end to all of that.

I would expose every one of her evil deeds, and when I was finished, those who now worshipped her would feel nothing but anger and disgust when they saw her or heard her name. They would hate her a hundred times more than they had ever hated me. Once she was finally expelled from Silver Moon Group, the entire werewolf society would breathe a sigh of relief at being rid of her.

"I want her to feel ten times the pain Isolde once felt," I said, my voice low and deadly. "I want her to understand that I'm the Lycan King, and my authority is not something she can toy with and escape punishment. I want the entire group and werewolf society to turn against her, ensuring she gets the punishment she deserves for the lives she has destroyed and ended. I'll make her beg for mercy she will never receive."

Every word I spoke was deadly serious. The fire in my chest burned with the promise of retribution.

After this highly productive conversation with Orion and Thalia, I felt refreshed and renewed. Thalia's recording would be instrumental in proving Evanthe's crimes, and when Orion finally got that maid Faye to talk, we would have everything we needed. We had to be careful and prevent our plans from leaking into the wrong ears, which could lead to Evanthe developing countermeasures.

I wanted to catch Evanthe completely off guard. If there was one thing I knew about her, it was that she was an excellent strategist who could devise a plan in a very short time—from simply ruining someone's reputation to murder. She was a dangerous bitch, and we had to proceed with caution.

My phone buzzed. I glanced at the caller ID showing Aiden Hawthorne's name and quickly silenced the device, returning it to my bag.

This man had been calling since last night, urging and almost commanding me to visit Evanthe. They claimed that ever since the doctor told her she had lost the child, she hadn't stopped crying.

*I really wonder why she doesn't pursue a career in Hollywood. She'd make an excellent actress!* I thought sarcastically.

Regardless, I was going to see her. Not because of her father's urging and commands, not because I felt sorry for her. Neither of those reasons. I was going because I didn't want to arouse her suspicions. She couldn't know about the secret investigation I was conducting with Orion and Thalia. To distract her and keep her from thinking in that direction, I decided to show up and pretend to care about her health and well-being.

My security team escorted me into the hospital building, and once I stepped into the lobby, all attention turned to me. Everyone—patients, doctors, and nurses alike—stopped what they were doing to nod respectfully, only resuming their activities after I smiled and acknowledged them.

The private elevator took me to the hospital's VIP section, where security led me to the suite where Evanthe was reportedly housed.

As I reached the door, I turned to my security detail. "I'll go in alone. Wait for me outside."
