Betrayed and Claimed by the Lycan King Chapter 159
EZRA'S POV
I slammed my fist down on the metal table, the sound reverberating through the glass-walled modern interrogation room. The two girls jumped in their seats, visibly trembling.
"Stop stammering and answer me directly!" I growled. "I want your voice and sentences to be as clear and concise as they were when you accused Isolde of poisoning you."
My eyes flashed dangerously with golden light as my wolf, Prime, pushed against my control, demanding retribution.
Orion placed a steady hand on my shoulder, a silent signal to rein it in. I shot him a glare, but he didn't flinch. As a Gamma warrior, he was one of the few who could withstand my fury without cowering.
"Let me handle this," he murmured, his voice low enough that only I could hear.
I took a deep breath and leaned back in the high-backed leather chair, drumming my fingers against the armrest as I nodded for Orion to take over.
*This display of rage is calculated,* I thought to myself. *The fear in their eyes is exactly what I want.* Prime growled in approval, pushing for more aggressive tactics. *Not yet,* I silently responded to my wolf.
Orion turned to the girls who looked on the verge of tears. He pulled out his tablet and displayed a detailed investigation report.
"Out of one hundred fighters participating in the arena matches that day, only you two ate anything before your important matches," he stated calmly. "Silver Moon Group's surveillance system recorded everything."
The redhead bit her lip, while the brown-haired girl stared at the floor, refusing to meet our eyes.
"Data shows that over ninety-five percent of fighters can't eat before major matches due to adrenaline spikes," Orion continued, his tone clinical and detached. "So the question is—how did you two manage to eat full meals? Where did you find the appetite before crucial finals? In the middle of all that tension?"
The brown-haired girl quickly responded, "I... I was hungry." Then, as if realizing how weak that sounded, she added, "I've always had a big appetite. You can ask my mom... or Ms. Greta."
*Another pathetic lie,* I thought. Even I, as powerful an Alpha as I am, ignore food before important business negotiations or arena fights due to focus. These girls obviously had this planned.
"Shut up!" I commanded, my voice low and threatening. The lights in the interrogation room seemed to dim with my rage. "You're sitting in front of the Alpha of this city and his Gamma warrior, and you still have the audacity to lie to our faces?"
I leaned forward, my eyes fully golden now, my wolf nature fully displayed. "You put those herbs in the food yourselves. You poisoned yourselves and then accused Isolde to frame her. Yes or no?"
When one of the girls tried to defend herself—"Alpha Ezra, we didn't..."—I cut her off with deadly precision.
"If you lie to me one more time..." My voice dropped to a lethal whisper. "I will use Silver Moon Group's resources to track down every member of your family, destroy their lives, and then have you watch as they're torn apart one by one in the underground arena. And only then will it be your turn." I paused, letting my words sink in. "So think very carefully before you answer that question."
Orion moved closer to the interrogation table, playing good cop to my bad. "We've already hacked into the entire training center's surveillance system. We know the truth." He displayed more surveillance footage on his tablet. "We know you're just pawns in someone else's game."
He pulled up additional images as he confirmed, "I've already verified that Isolde is innocent. All the evidence points to a mastermind. I want you to admit it yourselves."
Orion's voice softened slightly, though his eyes remained hard. "Tell the truth, and Ezra might consider giving you a way out. Lie again, and everything the Alpha just described will become reality. If you think the ruler of Silver Moon Group is bluffing, make the wrong choice."
The girls began to shake uncontrollably, exchanging terrified glances. Orion moved closer, towering over them as he asked again, "Did you poison yourselves and then frame Isolde for it?"
The redhead turned toward the other girl, who shook her head frantically, her eyes wide with fear.
"You can't tell!" one of them said in panic. "She'll destroy us! She has connections in the company..."
This caught my attention immediately.
"Who is 'she'?" I demanded. When they remained silent, I roared, "WHO IS SHE?" My voice carried the rumble of a wolf's growl, making the glass walls of the interrogation room vibrate as the girls screamed and tried to hide under the table.
"If we say her name, she'll make sure we can't take a step in this city," one girl sobbed. "Her father has influence..."
I gave them my ultimatum, my voice returning to a deadly calm that was far more frightening than my previous outburst. "What would you prefer: losing everything you have at Silver Moon Group and possibly your lives for concealing the truth, or telling me everything and receiving my protection?" I leaned closer. "Tell me now!"
The redhead finally broke, tears streaming down her face. "It was Sybilla!" she cried out. "Sybilla masterminded everything. She made us poison ourselves and blame Isolde. She also poisoned the food meant for the guest Alphas. It was all her! There's even CCTV footage to prove it! Sybilla and her mother planned it all together!"
As the girl's confession echoed through the room, my hands clenched into fists so tight that my knuckles turned white. The pieces of the puzzle were finally coming together, and Isolde's innocence was confirmed. Now it was time for justice—my kind of justice.
