Claimed by My Bully Alpha Chapter 200
Caleb’s P.O.V
It’s already morning when my father finally gets the go-ahead to enter pack territory and dig into the Lunar Coven. We waste no time. Everyone piles into the cars, and soon enough, we’re on the road, heading for Somerset, Maine. I can feel the tension in the air, the unease gnawing at me. Caroline’s with us, and to no one’s surprise, Damien is too, accompanied by a few of his guards.
The two-hour ride feels like it drags on forever. I can tell everyone’s frustration, particularly with how Caroline’s managing to keep herself so calm—probably because she was trying to focus on finding Aurora. But I wasn’t so sure she could find her. Even my mating bond was silent, and it made me even more worried as the seconds ticked by.
When we finally reach the Forest Dancers pack’s borders, the tension only builds. The forest surrounding the pack is dense, eerie, and there’s a strange quiet to it. I can’t shake the feeling that something’s watching us. As we get closer, my father, Alpha Camden, taps his fingers against the steering wheel, looking out the window. He’s trying to hide it, but I can tell he’s uneasy, too. It’s been a long time since he’s had to do something like this—work with an unknown pack.
We pull up, and Alpha Jackson is waiting for us, his arms crossed. He doesn’t look surprised to see three cars full of people, but there’s something about his posture—something guarded. It’s like he’s expecting something to happen at any moment.
“You made it,” Jackson says, his voice low, like he’s been holding it together since the night before. “I’ve been waiting for your call since last night, Camden, but then the storm hit and communications went down. We had no way of getting in touch with anyone. Thought you’d be stuck on the road.”
My father steps out of the car first, his voice calm but laced with that same edge of concern. “The storm did its damage, Jackson. We’re lucky to be here at all. But we need answers. We came for the Lunar Coven.”
Jackson nods but doesn’t say anything right away. There’s a silence that stretches between us, thick with expectation. It feels like the weight of the world is on us right now, like every word spoken from this point on is going to matter more than anything that came before.
“We need to move quickly,” I added, breaking the silence. “The longer we wait, the more chances they have to slip away.”
Jackson eyes me for a brief second before turning back to my father. “You’ll have your answers, Camden. But you need to be ready for what you’ll find.” His words hang in the air, the warning clear.
I look at my father, then to the others—Caroline staring off into the trees, Damien is next to her, his hand subtly resting on her waist. We’re all on edge, no one saying much, but it’s clear we all know what’s at stake. The Lunar Coven…something must have happened and that’s probably what’s gotten everyone one edge. But each second that we wasted here made it feel like time was ticking away for something unsettling to happen.
I stood in front of Alpha Jackson, my chest tight with worry. I had to find her. "Alpha Jackson, my mate... she’s been abducted," I said, my voice barely steady. "I think it’s the Lunar Coven. They’ve taken her."
He looked at me, his brow furrowing, and for a split second, I saw something in his eyes I hadn’t expected—fear. He quickly masked it, but the tension was unmistakable. "Caleb," he said slowly, "I need to know more. Why do you think it’s the Lunar Coven?"
I ran a hand through my hair, the urgency growing. "My mate…she is half-witch and she needed help. Someone from that coven contacted us for help, but then, she vanished with my mate. I think the coven is dangerous. They're after something, and I think it’s her."
Alpha Jackson didn’t answer right away. He just stared at me, his lips pressed into a thin line. "You have my permission to search our territory," he said, his voice low. But I could tell he wasn’t at ease. "But first, you must follow me," he added, turning abruptly. "I have something to show you."
Everyone behind me exchanged looks, but we all followed. As we walked through the pack's territory, the usual sounds—the chirping of birds, the rustle of leaves—felt strangely muted, as if the air itself had thickened. The pack members we passed seemed on edge, watching us closely, their eyes flickering with unease. I could feel their eyes on us, their tension palpable.
Caroline stepped up beside me, her face tight with worry. "Something strange is going on here, Caleb," she muttered, her voice low. "I can feel it."
I glanced over at her, my frustration mounting. "What do you mean? Can you feel her? Can you feel Aurora?" I asked desperately.
Caroline shook her head, her expression grim. "No... her mind has been quiet since this morning. I thought maybe I could sense her, but nothing. It’s like she’s vanished."
We fell into silence as we entered the packhouse. The atmosphere was heavy, thick with something I couldn’t place. Everyone moved quickly, but no one spoke. Something was off. Something was very wrong.
Alpha Jackson led us to a room at the back of the house, his face unreadable. "What is it, Alpha Jackson?" I demanded, my heart racing as I followed him into the room.
He stopped and turned to face us, his eyes dark with something unspoken. "It’s not just the Lunar Coven," he said quietly. "There’s something else at play here... something deeper." He paused, his voice lowering. "And I think it’s been around for a lot longer than we’ve realized."
I didn’t know if this was a good sign or a bad one. I had no idea what to think, or even how to react, but walking into the living room, the first thing I saw was her. The girl. No older than thirteen or fourteen, her silver hair almost glowing under the dim lights. She was sitting there, a trembling mess, shaking so violently that it was hard not to feel her fear in the air.
Several women in the pack surrounded her, trying to comfort her, their voices low, but she was too far gone. Her wide eyes, filled with terror, kept darting around like she was waiting for something else to happen.
Alpha Camden stepped forward, his voice calm but demanding as always, breaking the silence that had settled in the room. "Jackson, who is this?"
Jackson, who’d been standing near the edge of the group, looking just as uneasy as the rest of us, glanced at the girl before turning back to my father. His words came out clipped, but they carried the weight of something I couldn’t place. "She’s one of the witches of the Lunar coven. And... she’s the only one left."
The air seemed to freeze. The only survivor? That was bad. That was *really* bad. I could feel my gut twist as I looked back at the girl, her eyes too empty for someone so young. What kind of destruction had she seen? What had she been through? It didn’t take a genius to know that if she was the only one left, the rest of her coven wasn’t just gone—they were wiped out.
