Claimed by My Bully Alpha Chapter 296

Aurora’s P.O.V

I swallowed hard, feeling both comforted and yet still on edge. There was so much more to explore, and I had no idea where this would lead. But one thing was clear—I wasn’t going to be alone in it. That, at least, made the idea of the Autumn Equinox Ball a little less intimidating.

"You know, The Alpha King," he began, eyes gleaming with something between awe and suspicion, "he's rumored to be almost a century old, yet... he doesn't look a day over thirty. There’s a lot of mysteries surrounding him, and most of them are just that—rumors, but it makes you wonder exactly how much of it is true. They also say he's a special Alpha, with healing powers unmatched by any healer in the world."

I blinked, my mind momentarily trying to piece together the information. "Healing powers?" I repeated, curiosity piqued. "That’s an amazing gift to have."

"Yeah," Caleb interrupted, his hand waving dismissively as if the subject was old news. "He doesn't do any favors, doesn't work as a healer. Not in the way you'd expect. You'd think someone with that kind of power would be out there fixing wounds, saving lives... but no, he keeps it to himself."

I furrowed my brows, confused. "What’s the point of having healing powers if you don't use them?" I asked, my voice tinged with frustration. "People are suffering out there, and he just... withholds it?" The idea of someone having such a gift and not sharing it, when it could save lives, was maddening to me. It made no sense.

But Caleb didn’t seem interested in answering that. Instead, he shifted, leaning back slightly, and the change in his posture was subtle but noticeable. There was a gleam in his eyes that told me that he was about to change the subject and it didn’t take long for my theory to come true.

"We've talked about the Alpha King long enough," he said, cutting me off, his gaze intense and unwavering. "But we haven’t talked about us all day." He gestured between us with a soft sweep of his hand, but the mischievous smile on his lips told me exactly what was going on inside his mind.

"Caleb," I said softly, my voice low and steady, though my heart was racing now. "I know where this is going."

His lips twitched, just barely, a hint of a smile. "Do you, Aurora?" His tone was playful, but there was a seriousness to it. "Are you sure you know?"

“Caleb…” I gave a half-hearted warning, even though my lips started to curl up in a smile.

“Auroraaa…” He sang out my name in the same tone that I used on him, but it only made me burst out laughing.

“Seriously! Why are you always horny?” I said in between laughter, as he shifted his hold on me to try and tickle me. “Caleb, stop!”

“Nope. I think I’m going to continue where this is going.”

I watched as Caleb laughed, the sound rich and full of warmth. His eyes twinkled with mischief as he stood in front of me, that playful grin of his spreading across his face like wildfire. There was something undeniably intoxicating about the way he laughed, like it was just for me, a secret shared between the two of us. I couldn’t help but smile back, caught up in the moment. But then,

just as I was about to say something, his expression shifted.

In an instant, he pushed me back onto the bed and then, he was on top of me, pinning me to the bed with a soft yet firm grip, his body pressing against mine in a way that left no room for doubt.

He hovered just above me, his breath warm on my face, and his voice dropped low, a playful but commanding tone settling over his words.

"If you have any objections, now’s your chance to speak up," he said, his lips curling into that familiar smirk. "Otherwise, hold your breath for tonight."

I couldn’t help but laugh at how effortlessly he controlled the moment, and I tilted my head back, trying to keep the teasing smile on my lips. "Oh, Caleb," I said, the words slipping out before I could stop them, "I don’t think I have any objections, but why are you so obsessed with sex?"

His smirk faltered for a brief moment, his eyes darkening with something deeper, more intense, before he corrected me, his voice barely above a whisper. "No, I’m not obsessed with sex," he said, his fingers tracing the edge of my jawline in the softest touch. "I’m obsessed with you."

The sincerity in his voice hit me like a wave, knocking me breathless for a moment, and before I could gather my thoughts, his lips were on mine, pressing against me with a force that was both gentle and consuming all at once. It wasn’t just a kiss. It was an unspoken promise, a claim, a declaration that I couldn’t escape even if I wanted to. And at that moment, I didn’t want to escape.

I let myself melt into him, every worry and every doubt fading away with each passing second as his kiss deepened, pulling me into a world where only the two of us existed.
