Claimed by My Bully Alpha Chapter 241
Aurora’s P.O.V
The rooftop dining area was illuminated by the soft glow of fairy lights, their golden hues casting delicate shadows over the elegantly set tables. The scent of freshly grilled food filled the air, mixing with the faintest hint of jasmine from the potted plants lining the terrace. As I stepped out onto the rooftop, Caroline by my side, a wave of nostalgia washed over me. This place had always been special to me, a quiet escape where Caleb and I had spent countless evenings talking about everything and nothing. But tonight, it wasn’t just Caleb waiting for me.
Laughter and the clinking of glasses rang through the night as I took in the sight before me—my friends, my half-siblings, all gathered in what appeared to be a grand celebration. A mixture of warmth and unease settled in my chest. I turned to Caleb, who was standing near the railing, his easy smile making my heart ache in a way I couldn’t quite explain.
“What is all this?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper as I scanned the room.
Caleb exchanged a glance with Caroline, who grinned and nudged me playfully. “It’s for you,” he said, his tone soft but certain. “A late birthday celebration that’s wayy overdue.”
My breath caught in my throat. “But—” I hesitated, my mind flashing back to the last party we had all gathered for. Caroline’s birthday. The memory of that night still sat heavy in my mind—the tension, the surge of power, the disaster that had unraveled right before our eyes. My stomach twisted at the thought.
Caroline sighed, stepping in front of me and crossing her arms. “I know what you’re thinking,” she said, her expression gentler than I expected. “And no, you don’t need to dwell on it. This isn’t like last time. They’re gone, Aura, the past is behind us. This is a new beginning.”
I wanted to believe her. I really did. But the fear of things spiraling out of control again made my pulse quicken.
“I just…” I trailed off, glancing around at the expectant faces. They had all done this for me. Despite everything, despite the past, they were here, waiting to celebrate with me. The thought made my chest tighten with an emotion I couldn’t quite name.
Caleb placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “You deserve this, Aurora. Let us do this for you.”
I swallowed the lump in my throat and forced a smile. Maybe this time would be different. Maybe, for once, I could let myself enjoy the moment without waiting for the other shoe to drop.
So I closed my eyes for a moment, took a deep breath and let it all go. When I opened my eyes again, everything just felt…lighter.
It had been a long road to get here, but tonight was different. Tonight was for new beginnings. I stood there, surrounded by the people I held closest to my heart, and I could feel the weight of the past lift from my shoulders. The tension, the anger, the hurt—all of it was finally fading into something that felt lighter, like we were about to step into a new chapter, together.
"We've been through so much," I said, my voice steady but filled with the emotion I couldn’t quite hide. "But tonight, it's about letting go. Letting go of everything that held us back, and moving forward. All of us, together. A fresh start."
The room was quiet for a moment, as if everyone was soaking in the gravity of what I was saying. Then Mia, who had been standing in the back with Trisha, surprised me by walking toward me. Her eyes were soft, filled with something I hadn't seen in a long time—sincerity.
"Aurora," she began, her voice shaky, "I know we've...we've hurt you. And I’m sorry. I want to make things right. I want us to start over. Please, give me another chance."
Trisha stepped forward, nodding. "Me too. I never should've acted the way I did, and I was wrong. I...I just want us to be able to move past all that."
I blinked, trying to process their words. Honestly, I hadn't expected this. I thought it would take so much longer for them to even consider reaching out. But here they were, standing before me, asking for forgiveness. The years of tension, of unspoken resentment, seemed to fade away with the weight of those words. I could feel myself softening, and before I knew it, I was smiling, nodding at them.
"Of course," I replied, my voice gentle but firm. "I believe in second chances. Let’s start fresh."
They both smiled, relief flooding their faces. It felt like we were all shedding old skin, ready to take on something new.
Before I could say anything else, Riley appeared at my side, holding the plastic knife in his small hands, his face lit up with excitement. "Aura! It's time for cake!" he said, his eyes wide with anticipation.
I couldn’t help but laugh, the sound of his joy filling the room and easing my heart. "Alright, let's do this," I said, taking the knife from him. As I moved to cut the cake, Riley climbed into my arms, and I held him there as I made the first cut. It wasn’t just the cake I was cutting—it was the ties to everything that had weighed us down, the past, the mistakes. With each slice, I felt the promise of a better future, not just for me, but for all of us.
The room erupted in cheers as the cake was served, the night filled with laughter, food, and drinks. We celebrated, not just the beginning of a new era, but the start of something more profound—something real. My closest friends, my family, and even the people who had once been a source of pain, were here, sharing in this moment of joy and renewal.
We stayed together, the night stretching out in front of us, and for once, I allowed myself to believe that maybe, just maybe, everything was going to be okay. It wasn’t perfect, but it was ours. And that was enough for now.
