I couldn’t hold it in anymore. The words had been gnawing at the back of my mind for days, festering in the corners of my thoughts. The lies, the half-truths, the constant feeling that something was off, but no one else seemed to notice. I couldn’t keep pretending that I didn’t know anything, that I wasn’t aware of what was going on under everyone’s noses.

I took a deep breath, my voice shaky but determined. "I may know something," I blurted out, immediately regretting the words the moment they left my lips. "But I’m not sure if I’m guessing it right."

Caleb's head whipped around, his eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my stomach twist. He was on edge, his posture stiff, like a coiled spring ready to snap. "Aura," he said, his voice low and dangerous, "What is it? Did something happen to you? Are you hurt?" His concern was clear, and it made my chest tighten with guilt.
