Claimed by My Bully Alpha Chapter 31
Caleb’s P.O.V
For a split second, the shock of what I just witnessed had me frozen on the spot…until my wolf came to roaring life.
“You son of a bitch!” A growl tore through me, my voice sounding raspier than it would in my human form and then I ran towards the two of them and ripped the leech off of Aurora with my fingers around his neck.
Aurora scrambled away immediately and I used that opportunity to haul that leech up off the floor with my fingers tightening around his neck.
Mr. Hemming tried to pry my hand off of his neck, but I tossed him aside onto the floor the very next moment, the satisfying thud followed by the sound of bones rattling had me wanting to grin at his misery.
However, the leech was resilient for his own good. The instant he hit the ground, he scrambled on to his hands and knees and crawled out of the classroom, before breaking into a run as soon as he was back on his feet.
I grit my teeth, wanting to follow him, to bash in his skull…but then I remembered that Aurora was still in the room, and from the frantic beat of her heart…she was scared.
My wolf howled inside my head, urging me to go to Aurora first. Its claws and fangs extended when I tried to go against my wolf’s orders. I found that I couldn’t leave her alone, not like this. As for Mr. Hemming, I was a predator for a reason. I could let him run, but once I start to hunt, there would be no place where he can hide from me.
Turning to face her, I found her looking up at me through eyes as wide as saucers, afraid of what she just witnesses. So I approached her with caution, like I would any wounded animal.
“It’s fine…he’s gone.” I held up my hands in front of me, to show her that I didn’t mean any harm. But still, I saw her flinch back. I stopped immediately.
The way she flinched away from me…it made my wolf lay down its head on a whimper. My wolf was angry that she got hurt…but it was also hurt by her rejection.
What was going on? Was she really…
“Caleb?” Caroline’s voice snapped me back into the present as she ran inside the classroom, her eyes wide as she took in the scene in front of her. Without waiting for me to answer, she was running towards Aurora and kneeling down beside her to pull her into her arms.
“Damnit, Caleb!” Caroline snapped at me, looking visible angry as she cradled Aurora into her arms. “I told you to hurry, didn’t I?”
But Caroline’s words didn’t have much effect on me. What had me stunned was the fact that Aurora, who had flinched away from me only a few seconds ago, now welcomed Caroline’s embrace without effort as she clutched onto her cardigan. Caroline hugged her back tightly, running her hands up and down her back in comfort.
The sound of my wolf growling inside my head had me surprised. Was my wolf seriously jealous of Caroline now? This was ridiculous! I refused to believe it!
Turning away from the two girls, I headed out the doorway and instantly, started following the scent that belonged to that slime of a human scum who had just tried to force himself on a student.
I began running after the scent, worried that he might have run off the premises, but fortunately, I followed his scent to the parking lot, to find him fumbling with his car keys as he tried to open the door with trembling fingers. Fucker actually though he could get away with it?
My vision turned red as I saw him looking around to make sure no one would notice him. He was trying to get away without any consequences and I didn’t want that happening. But maybe it was some kind of instinct to spot a predator, because Mr. Hemming looked back at me right then, just as his door opened, and he didn’t waste a single second before he hopped onto his car and started the ignition.
“Bloody fucker!” I ran after him, but his car was faster as he stepped on the gas.
I looked around the lot, ready to either follow him via my car or in my wolf form. But suddenly, a thought occurred to me.
What was I going to do once I caught up with him?
Because mate or not, the human scumbag had just tried to take advantage of a helpless girl and no one was allowed to do that. Human or otherwise.
And with the state I was in, I was very sure that I would rip him to shreds as soon as I saw him. However, with cameras everywhere on the roads, it would be difficult for me to execute justice no matter which form I was in.
So I decided on another plan.
Running into the woods behind the woods, I took off my clothes and placed them on the ground. And then I let myself transform into my wolf, the pleasure and pain of the transformation rushing through my veins as my bones reformed and fur grew all over my body.
Soon, I stood on four legs, and I opened my jaw in a low growl, my muzzle pulled back over sharp fangs.
And then I started to chase after the bastard. Fear had a pungent stench and I could easily detect who it belonged to as I rushed through the woods, dodging fallen logs and forest giants, my speed unmatched and my paws barely making a sound as it hit the grass.
The road to the teacher’s home was through the dense forest that surrounded Blue Hill and I couldn’t help but grin as I realized that he had walked right into my trap.
The car sped away, tires screeching against the pavement, but I was already moving before the thought of hesitation could creep into my mind. My paws pounded against the ground, the wind slicing through my fur as I chased after them, my heart hammering like a war drum inside my chest. Faster. I had to be faster.
The car was tearing down the winding road leading out of town, heading straight for the highway that cut through the dense woods, and my rage only fueled me further, giving me the strength to push beyond my limits. The world around me blurred into streaks of black and green, my ears twitching at every snap of a branch, every rustle of leaves in the distance. My muscles burned, my breath came out in ragged huffs, but I refused to slow down. I couldn’t.
I could hear the steady hum of the engine, the way Mr. Hemming's foot pressed hard against the accelerator in a desperate attempt to outrun me, but he was a fool if he thought a mere vehicle could escape me in my true form.
My claws dug into the damp earth as I weaved through the trees, leaping over fallen logs and darting past the towering pines that lined the road. The headlights flickered in and out of view, bobbing with every bump in the pavement, and I could almost taste the fear in the air—his fear. He knew he was being hunted. He knew he had made a mistake the moment he took what wasn’t his to take.
And then, just as the car hit the long stretch of highway, I made my move.
With a final, powerful lunge, I burst through the trees, landing directly in the middle of the road, my massive frame illuminated by the glare of the car’s headlights. I saw Mr. Hemming’s eyes widen, his mouth parting in a silent scream as his hands jerked the wheel in blind panic.
The tires screeched against the asphalt, the vehicle swerving violently to the right, and in that split second, I saw everything—the look of sheer terror on his face, the way his fingers trembled as he fought for control, the inevitable realization that he had lost. The car veered off the road, crashing straight into the thick trunk of an old oak tree, the impact sending a loud, earsplitting crunch echoing through the forest.
Silence followed.
Smoke billowed from the crumpled hood, the faint smell of burning rubber filling the air, but I remained where I was, standing tall in the middle of the road, my breath heavy, my body still trembling with raw, unfiltered rage. I could hear his heartbeat—it was faint, weak, struggling—but I didn’t move toward him. I didn’t care if he lived or died. He had touched my mate, tried to take her from me, and now he was paying the price for his foolishness.
It was only after I had returned back to the school and was getting dressed that I finally realized what I had done.
I had let my anger get the best of me, letting my wolf control my actions rather than my rational side. And for the first time in my life…I wasn’t sorry about it.
