The Rare and Rejected Mate Chapter 18

Deon's POV

"And you believed her? Kevin, you can not be this stupid, but apparently, if you believe that then you are. Can't you see she is playing you, what makes you think she'll keep her promise after all she did kidnap all those girls."

"She promised and she seemed sincere about it." At this point, I wanted to slap Kevin and tell him that all Jen wants is to break you and Diamond up so that you will lose your Alpha title, although that's the whole reason why she is with him.

"You have a point there, but Jen wouldn't lie to me besides she loves me."

"Do you love her?"

"No, but in order to protect the realm I have to be with her."

"But what about Diamond and what about you, I know that you feel an obligation to fulfill your duty to protect the realm as a future Alpha but, you need to think about yourself and Diamond. For the past month and I have you and Diamond have gotten closer than ever and I could see that, you care about her just as much as she cares about you. If I was just a stranger walking in I would think that you two were already married, the way you guys interact with each other, the way you look after her, it's almost like a married couple. You two belong together, but you are letting Jen ruin it. Don't let your happiness fall through just because of blackmail, which she is literally doing to you and trust me it doesn't turn out good. My cousin was being blackmailed into something by his one night stand and in the end, he lost everything. He wasn't there for his mate and the baby that they created he wasn't there to help protect the pack, instead he decided to go along with his ex just because of blackmail. His mate died and so did half of the pack. He was Alpha to the Ridge Stone pack, and the reason why you don't hear of them anymore it's because there is no more Ridge don't pack except for my father who was the little baby." At this point my advice to Kevin would be to really look at the situation and to follow his heart, I know his wolf is not happy about this.

"Hey guys, Deon can I come with you and Amber back to your pack, I need to be somewhere where I can clear my head?" Diamond asks coming in from the outside. Kevin then tries to reach for her but she is too fast and she goes upstairs to start packing. As she reaches the top step I tell her that we leave in a few. "While we're gone, you better think of a plan and think of one quick because if not, you will lose the best thing that's ever happened to you forever and she just might end up like ever having a second chance mate. I hope you do not want that to happen because at the rate that you're going, the Moon Goddess who sees all and hears all is probably lining her up with the second chance made right now." What's those last words I hear footsteps and I look up and see Diamond coming down with her suitcase and Amber coming down with her suitcase. I pack the car and soon we are off and our way back to my home.

A few hours later, we end up at and my mother and father's home.. We drive up the driveway to the house and I popped the truck so that my Delta and my Gamma can help get the bags while the girls chit chat with my mother.

" Mom Dad, this is Amber my mate and her friend Diamond."

"Well it's finally nice to meet you Amber, you look stunning."

"Thank you, Mr and Mrs. Elliot."

"Hello mr. And mrs. Elliot thank you for having me on such short notice."

"No problem, the more the merrier and besides we have more rooms than we can use."

We go inside the house and Amber is immediately taking aback by my baby pictures, I feel so blessed to have her as my mate. We all go into the living room and sit down so that we can have a chat.

"So, Amber you were one of my son students, is he a hard teacher?"

"Nope, but he does have a way with the ladies because they all fall to his feet because look at him, but he never pays attention to any of them because as soon as I walked in the room his eyes with straight to me I guess you could say it was love at first sight." I can see my mom moving closer towards my dad on this couch holding hands.

"This is a lovely home Mrs. Elliot, I'd love the colors on these walls it almost feels like warm apple cider."

"Thank you dear, Deon, I like her.

" Mom, Dad are you expecting company?"

"No, I don't think so, besides you guys." My Delta who has finished putting the bags in the room comes down and opens the door before going back to his post, followed by my Gamma.

"Babe, I missed you." Sheila comes and jumps in my arms she expects me to catch her like I did when we first started going out, but things have changed and I have another mate now, my one and only Amber. I back away from her and stand by Amber.

"Who is this trick?" Sheila said while pointing at her.

" I'm his mate, his future wife, and mother to this pack, you must be old news.

"Babe, I didn't know you got to old hag as my replacement. What is the pack going to think of her when you show up with a senior citizen on your arm claiming to be your mate when I'm your first and only." At this point Diamond is up behind Amber ready to defend her if need be, and my parents is that the way they get up and move because they know that this is probably going to get ugly.

"Who are you calling an old hag and besides, you rejected him because you were sleeping with so many guys that you don't want to be tied down to just one for the rest of your life, so you are no longer relevant here. You can leave my in-laws home back out the door the way you came and don't come back."

"How dare she, Deon does she know who I am, I am a Beta's daughter."

"Aw, only a beta, oh shoot well, I'll have to tell my father that I'm up against the beta."

" I bet you're just a lonely lonely and pitiful Omega in your old pack you don't deserve to be made it with the future Alpha of this pack. I challenge you to a duel, whoever wins gets the hold the title of future Luna of this pack whoever loses have to go back to where they came from and never return even if you are his mate, I will win like I always do."

"Ok, let's duel, this should be fun."

" Fine, I will give you some time to prepare........to lose."

This is exactly what I didn't want to happen and now Shelia has to learn the hard way. Shelia has always been stubborn and think that she can get her own way just because she is a Beta's daughter from another pack.

We go outside to the big field behind the house and the members sit in the bleachers on either side of the field and Shelia and Amber stand in the middle.

"You ladies know the drill, no biting, no low punches, no clawing at the face. If any of these happens, you will be disqualified and forfeit your chance to duel."

"Understood, although I can't say the same for Amber she looks like she fights dirty. She's not going to play fair, it's just a matter of time until I get to have my mate back and we'll live happily ever after and have cute pup and I will be Luna and you will go back to that trash heap of a pack of yours."

"First of all, you still don't know who I am but when you do you are going to regret it. Don't get it twisted I can be kind when I want to but, I can also take care of my own, if you know what I mean. So don't try me you really don't want to know what happens when you try me."

"Is that a threat, if it is it's a small threat that can be crushed like an ant."

"Nope, no threats but, it's a promise."

Amber, takes her position and so this Sheila at the opposite ends of the field, I don't know why we're doing this. Sheila always feels like she has to make a point out of everything and to everyone. She can't get over the fact that she has now lost me and I don't ever plan to go back to her.
