The Rare and Rejected Mate Chapter 26

Diamond's P.O.V

Tonight is Kevin and eyes first date and I am so nervous, not because it's my first date ever but because he has broken my heart so many times that I don't know what to expect. Amber comes over to the back house and comes upstairs to my room, she said she just finished helping her brother get ready and that he looks sharp. Well, he has to dress part right but we shall see how he treats me because I still don't trust him, well not completely.

"D, are you ready to put this dress on. I am so glad that I found this little dress for you it is so cute it's an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline chiffon pink dress and look it even has lace sleeves and don't worry, I got you some shorts to go underneath. Now let's get you ready." She takes out the dress from the garment bag and places that neatly on my bed while I sit at the vanity mirror waiting for her to do my makeup and put my hair into a messy but cute bun. "Now it isn't my place to tell you what you should do but, I'm just giving you some advice don't let Kevin do or say anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. If he messes up call him out on it, if he doesn't be nice compliment him but does not absolutely do not let him make you feel uncomfortable. I'm not advising you whether you should take him back or not that solely depends upon you but, if it was up to me I would just go on but, you are your own person."

"Thanks, Ames, I think I know what I want."

"Already but, the date hasn't even started yet."

"I know but really, I know what's best for me."

"As long as you're okay with it then, I'm okay with it. I support you in whatever you do and whatever you choose."

An hour later, Ames finishes with my hair and we put on, my dress just in time for Kevin to pick me up. He's already earned some points by being on time and not having me wait. I walk downstairs and he already has a corsage for me as if we are going to homecoming or a prom but, even though we're not it is still sweet.

He opens the door for me when we get outside to go to his car and he lets me get in before shutting the door and going back to the driver's side so that we can be on our way. He tells me that he is making reservations at the little diner down the street oh, he is earning some more points because he knows that's where they have those awesome french fries that I love.

We pull up into the parking lot and he first gets out of the car, I tried to reach for the door handle but he wouldn't let me, he gets out of the car and comes around to my side to let me out. We entered a restaurant the waitress seats us near a window in a booth and of course, we wait until our appetizers come.

"So, I hope you like the restaurant, Amber told me it was your favorite." Well so much for me thinking that it was him who picked out the restaurant, turns out it was Ames. " I wanted to apologize, I know I did you wrong and I know that it's going to take a lot of me proving myself to you in order for you to forgive me but oh, I do and would like your forgiveness. I feel bad for what I've put you through and not just only you but and my parents oh, I am so so sorry."

That apology actually seemed sincere, maybe I should think about giving Kevin a second chance. We get our appetizers and then the waitress asked to have we thought about what we wanted for dinner and as soon as I begin to speak the table starts to shake and I'm thinking that it's Kevin playing a trick on me but, it's not. This time the whole restaurant begins to shake and I look outside and lo and behold coming up it's Jen with a bunch of Rogues. I thought we were done with her, and where did she get these other Rogues?

"Diamond and Kevin come out wherever you are, I know you're here, me and my friends just wanted to say hi and maybe kill you in the process." We both look at each other, and everyone in the restaurant drops whatever they are doing or whatever they're eating and starts to panic. Soon you see dishes flying, you see purses and keys flying, it's just utter chaos.

"I'm calling Ames."

"Ames, we need help."

"D, what's wrong, did my brother mess up already?"

"Jen and a bunch of Rogues are here at the restaurant and they want us dead."

"So this is what she's been up to, I'll get my Dad and Deon, we'll be there in a minute.

"Awww, you don't want to talk well, that's okay, you guys will be dead soon anyway." I sniff the air and smell wolfsbane and see silver, she came prepared. One of the Rogues throws something through the window and it's a grenade, we all run for cover but, not all of us make it. A few people have grave injures from the blast and sadly fall victim to those injuries.

The restaurant door opens and the footsteps come closer and closer until the footsteps stop in front of me and...............

"D, D, D, D, did you hear me so, where is Kevin taking you on your date?" Did I blackout, what happened, I'm still here, Ames is still doing my hair and makeup. Jen is still far away from here and cannot harm us, her army is gone except for a few.

"The Silver Diner."

"There, your hair is done, now to put on some lip glass and next to your dress. This dress is perfect for you, it has an attachable belt to slim the waist and accent it."

"Ames, I just had a daydream."

"We all do from time to time."

"But none like this, this dream was a nightmare. Jen came back and tried to kill us."

"I can see what you dreamed that but, she's gone and hasn't been back since, but if you're in trouble, or you feel uncomfortable, you can always reach me."

"Thanks."

"You know you're my girl, I got your back." We hug and tear up for a bit but then, Ames notices the time and she unzips my dress out of the garment bag.

We've been here an explosion outside and we look out and we see two dead bodies on the grass oh, they were two young guards just training getting ready for the first Patrol by themselves. It were only 17 and 18 years old, barely got a foot in life and they die instantly by, what looked to be a grenade.

" I'll get my Dad and the others, you go tell everyone to go down to the safe bunker, hurry."

We both go our separate ways and as I passed from room to room I see kids being hidden in closets and bathrooms but, I quickly tell them to come to follow me down to the safe bunker along with their parents. I have a chance to look outside one of the hallway windows and see that Jen has made an appearance and this time she is not alone. It seems as if we can never get rid of her, she will always be a part of our lives.

" I managed to get the last bit of the teenage girls who were in the lounge down to the States bunker, and I meet Ames as I am entering into the bunker. If I am to be Luna it's my job to calm everyone down and so I volunteered to stay with them seeing how everyone recognizes me as Luna already and with that I leave aims to go out and fend off whatever evil that Jen is brought with her to Ames.

Luckily there is a little window that is a one-way window basically oh, it's a window that you can see out of but people can't see in. I look outside the window and see that Jen has only a few Rogues with her because the rest of her army split off into different packs they decided that they weren't really about this life of chaos and confusion. I think what really changed their minds was when Jen basically said that she owned them and that she could do whatever she wanted to them and they wouldn't have a say.

Jen is a funny one, she thinks by having this time to have this big ole plan that she is going to actually do some damage. She doesn't know this but she has another thing coming because Ames is not one to just sit back and let things slide as she did before. So this could get interesting......
