The Rare and Rejected Mate Chapter 22

Amber's P.O.V.

Today is the day I get discharged from the hospital, I'm so ready to go back home. I am upset that this is the first impression that Dion's parents are left with but, I can't control everything.

My parents have come to the hospital to pick me up and I noticed that Deon and Diamond are a bit worried about something. Kevin has made his way down here as well, he must have begged my parents to let him come, I guess he wanted to see D to patch things up but, by the looks of it, she's not going to forgive him anytime soon. I mean who could blame her, he left her for the first time and picked his girlfriend over his actual mate. Then when he got into an accident D was there to take care of him and to make sure that he got back on his feet and then all the sudden when Jen comes back now he wants to reject my best friend again, that's not happening. I mean yes it has already happened but my brother won't get to reject her another time because at this point I recommend that she moves on from him.

I mean, she can't actually move on from him unless she rejects him as well but so far she hasn't rejected him or accepted his rejection, I lost track for real about the rejection of both of them. I forget who rejected who and did any of them except the rejection because that's the only way that you can move on and the Moon Goddess can assign you another mate.

I get back to the house and find that Deon and D are just coming back from we're arguing about not on a rescue mission or as I should call it a help mission. The has just told me that the fact that they were helping just lost their Alpha and most of their members perished in the fire. I feel so bad for those members and now they have to just start over. I knew the Alpha and Luna they were a match made in heaven, they were friendly with everyone. Their pack would always help out anyone in need and in return others would do the same for them.

" Deon are you okay? I know that seen a bunch of people dying and many others already dead must have been hard for you but, I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to." Deon turns to me and he pulled me into a hug, I then feel tears on my shoulder. This is the first time that I have seen Deon show any emotion that broke him.

Most of the time he is this Macho, handsome, strong professor but now I get to see that vulnerable side of him and it's okay to have that side.

"Do you want to talk about it, I'm here to listen if you let me?" He pulls back from me and leads me towards the living room couch.

"It was awful, when me and Diamond got there the Rogues had killed a few members. Most of them were scared, some were trapped by other Rogue wolves and a few of them were dead. I even saw one being mutilated just a few feet away from me and I couldn't do anything because I was saving someone else and their family. Then as the bomb went off in the house oh, my first instinct was to find the survivors and even after the second bomb went off I ran in there and I got a few people out while Diamond searched the upstairs. We both then ended up downstairs and the fire was so strong that in the end the alpha female lost her life she was engulfed by the flames. She pushed out Diamond before dying when the whole house collapsed on itself."

D is so strong that I really believe that she forgets sometimes how to be herself. Yes she is a blue Diamondback wolf I think when her family told her about blue Diamondback wolf history that the wolf before her were protectors, I think that put her in the place of she must protect everyone and not lose a single person. I think D needs to know that it's okay, that she can't save everyone, and some want to save her.

The next week comes and it is time for us to go back to the training camp and luckily my wounds had healed and I am back and better than ever, and my wolf is better as well, for she has taken most of the beating when the Rogues attacked us.

My dad runs up and tells us that the Elders of the council want to have a little chat with us, including my brother and Deon. Me and D we have gone back to are pack and things have changed, I was greatly missed When I was gone. I immediately get back to training the Warriors and some new pups and even some teenage pups. My mother is teaching D all the ropes of how to be Luna because she is still hopeful, that deep down Kevin still love D and that he will wake up one day and realizes that Kevin needs her.

Kevin has been trying to contact D for the past week, she hasn't returned his calls or text and I'm really proud of her. Before we leave for the Elders of the council Kevin finds me in my room.

"Hey sis what's up?"

"What's up with you, it seems like you have been trying to get someone's attention but, you're going to have to try a little bit harder."

"What else does she want from me, I mean I've already apologized to her so many times and I have explained the situation over and over again what else can I do?"

"Well then if you really want her back, then why the heck is Jen still here. She comes around every day and you don't think D notices? You are trying to get back with her right, you do now realize that it's either one or the other you can't have your cake and eat it too it never works out that way. There will always be one loser and one winner, and it's in my better judgment but until you make things right between diamond and Jen and solve this situation then I have no choice but tell least encourage D not to be with you anymore." I can tell he's angry because he just put a hole in my wall with his fist. I understand that he is mad because of what I just said but, he has to understand all of the pain that he put D through and I am not going to let my best friend get hurt anymore."

Kevin really doesn't care about these feelings because he's able to move on so quickly from rejecting her over and over again.

"How can you say that, as my sister you are to be on my side."

"SO WHAT IF IM YOUR SISTER, YOU HAVE REJECTED YOUR MATE TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND FOR WHAT SOME HOE IN THE STREET WHO HAS MADE D AND MY LIVES A LIVING HELL. SO YES, I TOLD HER TO TRY AND MOVE ON FROM YOU, DON'T GIVE INTO HIS LIES. UOU HAD ONE JOB TO DO AND THAT WAS TO LOVE AND PROTECT HER AND YOU COULDNT EVEN DO THAT." At this point I am pissed, because he still hasn't admitted that he is willing to tell Jen that he won't feel sorry for her just because she is pregnant and alone, which I think is false because she has her Rogues who are practically like her baby's father.

Kevin stops before punching another hole in my wall he falls to the ground on his knees with tears in his eyes. I have never seen my brother like this before.

" I know I have lost her trust probably forever no, but I have no idea on how to get it back or where to start. I want her to trust me again but, I know if my track record that's not going to be easy for her to do. I want to have a life with her oh, and I know I've said this before but I'm serious now I've had the realization of if I don't have her then I don't have anything. Those past few weeks of her taking care of me after my accident where the best of my life, besides the countless birthdays and vacations. I eventually want a family and I know I have to put my foot down on certain things, I know I must tell Jen that she has to go and to never come back that my one and only is Diamond and as far as I know Jen has already met her mate.
