The Rare and Rejected Mate Chapter 9

Deon's P.O.V.

I get a point of view....sweet. I wonder why are Amber's earrings going off, she must be in danger. I got to call her. I get out my phone as soon as classes end for the day and dial Amber's number.

Funny, usually she picks up right away.

"Hello, Deon." Finally, someone picks up.

"Diamond, I'm glad you picked up, I received a signal from Amber, she's in trouble."

"Trouble, no she just went out for a run."

"I'm sure of it, something wrong. I'm looking at my computer now and her signal is in a building that hasn't been occupied in years, I'll send you the coordinates to her. You need to tell her Alpha Richards and Luna, I'll be on a flight out there in an hour." We both hang up and I get in my car and raced to the apartment to pack. I email the headmistress and tell her I need a leave of absence right away and explain the situation.

A few hours, I'm back at my pack, I explain the situation to my parents and they want to help in any way possible. Two of my Dad's best trackers come with me and off we go to Alpha Richards pack.

"Thank you guys for coming with me guys, we need to find her, she's the pack's future Mother, and my Luna ."

"No problem, we would do anything for you and our future Luna." We arrive at her house and Alpha Richards and her Mom meets us in the yard. Funny that this is how I meet her Mom and Dad, I imagined a different scenario, it's unfortunate that this is it.

"You must be Deron, its so nice to meet you."

"Deon, I'm glad you're here, we could use all the help we can get."

"May I introduce our Trackers, Austin, and Max." They immediately sniff the air and notice something, they head towards the house and they see her brother and Diamond in the kitchen.

"Deon, thanks for coming."

"Who is this?"

"This is Amber's mate, he's going to help us find Ames." This must be Kevin, he looks so stuck up, like an entitled little boy but, he listens to Diamond and that's good. I'm glad he now decided to make Diamond his Luna so, Amber can be my Luna. Amber never wanted to be Alpha, that was never her dream, but she was willing to step up if she had too and that's what I love about her. Yes, it's only been a few weeks almost a month but, yes it is true I have fallen in love with my mate.

"What do you mean, she missing, my sister isn't missing, she just went for a run........... Right, right Diamond." The realization of the silence hits him. " Where is she, why are we waiting around here, we need to find her now. " Alpha Richards and Luna walk in.

"Deon, Diamond said you have her location," Luna speaks while the doorbell rings, the door opens, and in steps 4 men.

"We're at your service Alpha." One of the men spots me.

"Deon?"My tracker before he met his mate and decided to settle down here, leaving the pack."You know him?" Alpha Richards asks him.

"Yes, Deon is Alpha Elliot's son." The shock on his face and Kevin's. My Father's pack is the strongest one out there, we have camps to train members from other packs who wish to learn more on defense training and power and most importantly, strategy. Alpha Richards comes near me and sticks out his hand.

"I'm glad my daughter has a mate like you to protect her and to help her as she continues to grow. Now, let's find her." We go in his office to talk, along with our trackers and Kevin, my Beta who has come down after his duties were over, and Alpha Richards Beta.

"While I was teaching one of my classes, I received a ping from Amber's tracker. I gave her one in a set of earrings I bought for her on one of our dates to use in case of an emergency and she can only activate it when she pushes the button underneath to jewel."

"Does she know?

"Yes, I told her about it."

The doorbell rings and the door opens, shouting starts, diamond yipes in pain and...

"Jen?"

She must be the ex-girlfriend, Amber told me about her. Honestly, Diamond is a way better upgrade from her. She looks at me and then goes over to Kevin but before she can reach him, Diamond steps in front of him and puts out her hand to push her. A sudden force of wind send Jen flying back out those doors, who knew a blue diamondback could do that. We all then continue our meeting but unfortunately, that didn't satisfy Jen, because she kept trying to get back in. Finally, she managed to break one of the windows with the chair on the porch, we go outside to see and who knows what she's thinking.

"Kevin, I want you back." Kevin ignores her as she continues to yell that sentence. Finally, Kevin stands up from the wheelchair and decides to talk to her.

"Kevin, you're seriously not going out there to talk to her." He looks at her face and her eyes are filled with worry and anger but, he reassures her that everything will be alright.

"What do you want Jen?" She runs up to him and hugs him, I can see Diamond almost ready to claw her eyes out but, her Luna calms her down.

"Why are you here, you cheated on my son, he should have listened to Amber and should have never gone out with you." Alpha Richards states.

"Oh, yea, and speaking of Amber, where is the ugly fat duck---" Before she could say anything her neck was in my hands and she was in the air.

"You say one more thing about her and I will hurt you, do you understand?" Diamond walks towards us.

"Where are our manners, we didn't introduce you. Jen this is Deon Elliot, Alpha Elliot's son and future Alpha to the Glaze Ridge pack also he's Amber mate." She steps back, still catching her breath.

"So, you're the next sucker who got paired with her." Next, what is she talking about, maybe this is what Amber wanted to tell me face to face.

"Jen, Alpha Elliot's pack will punish you severely if you talk bad about their future Alpha again, it's a crime you know." Diamond then changes her eye color, letting me know she has given control to her wolf. " Also, no one shall disrespect anyone in my pack."

"Jen, why are you here?" Kevin speaks out.

"I'm here to give you a message, the rogues are coming, they want to destroy Diamond, and while I'm happy about that, she is your sister's best friend and she means a lot to her, and since Amber is your sister and you mean a lot to me, I've decided to help you."

"No thanks, we have all the help we need." Just then one of the trackers comes out of the house.

"Austin?" He looks back at her and just puts his hand out as to stop her, and ignores her as she calls his name. "Austin, I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt you, it's just you're not an Alpha and I need someone who can provide for me, to always protect me."

"Alpha Richards, Deon, we found her." We all turn to him for a second, literally a second, and she's gone. I have a feeling that she knows something about Amber's kidnapping, but I doubt she'll stoop that low.

A few hours later the tracker guys come back and, sadly, no Amber just her earrings. They must have found out about the tracker.

"Tomorrow when that girl comes, place this on her." I take out the tracker behind the jewel on the earrings and hand it to Austin. Turns out that Austin and Jen are mates, well ex mates, she rejected him but, he never gave up hope that she would return to him. When he found out that she was dating someone new, an Alpha's son, he went into a full-blown depression.

"I can't believe Jennifer has become like this, greedy for power, and just mean. Her Mom and my Mom were friends, we used to do everything together. We were so close that our Moms kept making jokes about us being mates, who knew it would actually come true. Jennifer, that's her real name, she was always bright and free-spirited before the fallout. My Mom caught Jen's Mom and my Dad in bed together and it broke her. I remember times when we would play hide-and-seek or tag, little games like that and now, I hardly know her anymore. I used to have hope that she would return to me and not worry that I wasn't an Alpha but, that means more to her than to me." Austin then goes out to the yard and shifts into his wolf and goes for a run.

"Is Austin going to be okay?"

"He will be, don't worry." Alpha Richards notices that I'm quiet. "Deon are you alright?"

"Has anyone noticed that when Austin came out and said that they found Amber, Jen was gone?"

"You think she has something to do with this."

"It's a shot, but not a long one."

"I swear if she hurt my friend, then I'll have no problem turning her to minced meat." Kevin walks over to Diamond and calms her down before she breaks something.

"I know Jen disliked......." He sees Diamond's face turn sour. "I mean, loathe D and my sister, but I doubt she would do something like this."

"Kevin, think about it, after all the stuff that Amber has told me, it wouldn't be far-fetched. I mean the stuff she would do to her and Diamond. I wouldn't be surprised even if she didn't know, she just seems evil."

"Not to mention when she got here, she did say she had a message from the rogues and that they want to destroy me. You don't find that suspicious?"

"I just can't believe it, first Amber is right about her cheating, and now to know she might have something to do with Amber's kidnapping, it's just wrong."

"She's only playing innocent to get back with you, but I'm here to stay and she can butt out. I won't' let her tear us apart."

Kevin then smiles and walks to Diamond taking hold of both her hands and says.

"I, Kevin Richards, take back my rejection of Diamond Johnston, as my future Luna and mate. These past few weeks have been wonderful, you not only took care of me but after all the stuff I put you through, you still stayed positive and held on to hope. You're sweet, smart, talented in arts and the kitchen and not to mention a good sparring partner. I realize now that, I was foolish to reject you and follow another, having a mate is not just a lover issue, but to make you become the best that you can be. So, what do you say Diamond, will you lead this pack with me and be my Luna?"

"Kevin, I have never stopped being your Luna. Ever since I found out that I was your mate, which I already knew."

"Wait....what."

"Ames kind of told me. She's my best friend and now she'll be my sister, we need to find her. We can continue this later. Right now, we need to find Ames, I hope she's alright."
