Fell In Love With My Roomy Chapter 124

I expect his emotions to be evident; they were quite strong last time when he confessed that they'd been in that situation but that he'd never gone through with it. However, he looks confused, as if he can't recall it at all, and now I'm starting to get concerned.

"I don't know what you're trying to pull, but we never did anything that night," he says in a low, dangerous tone. "I don't appreciate you causing all this chaos and telling lies."

"No, Kent, a lie would be untrue," she says, opening her phone again, and I blink.

She displays a picture that nearly makes me sick: it's him behind her in bed, both of them on their knees, his face pressed into her neck, and I feel tears welling up in my eyes. What's worse, I can see everything; she's done nothing to cover her body in this photo.

"You took a picture?" I ask angrily. That's a major breach of trust for her.

"I have a nice camera in a plug on my wall," she smiles, and I step away from Kent, feeling annoyed. We were supposed to be a united front, and he was supposed to have told me the truth. "Remember now?" She asks, and I don't know if anger or sadness is taking over more.

The room is silent, I'm on the verge of tears, and Piper appears quite pleased with herself. However, Kent unexpectedly makes a surprising statement.

"I didn't sleep with you," he says in disbelief. "Juls, you have to believe me; that's not real-"

"You can't lie your way out of this one," she tells him, and I feel a chill as Piper hands me her phone. "Halloween night, Kent. You need to learn how to keep your mind straight."

"But I didn't!" He insists firmly. "I didn't even undress; I left and went to your couch!" He shouts. "I was so drunk on Halloween, I couldn't have done anything!"

She passes the phone to me and stands in front of Kent, confronting him. My stomach churns as I look at it. This is messed up, but a picture is a picture.

"How else can you explain this?" She asks.

"I don't know what twisted scheme you've come up with, but you're taking it too far this time," he says in a rough voice. "You can't just let me be happy; you have to ruin it every time, every time I figure out my feelings, you destroy them."

"Your feelings?" She says with a laugh, and I scrutinize the picture more closely. My dread finally subsides as I take a closer look at his face.

There's something off about this picture.

The angle and the shadows are strange, and the fact that it's in black and white doesn't help. It is his face, but it's not his body.

"You never even smile, and you're going on about your feelings!" I hear her say as I zoom in on some details. "You can't talk your way out of this one! Do you think Juls is going to let this slide?"

"You're quite a piece of work," he snaps, and I furrow my brow.

I skim over Piper's naked chest, though there isn't much to see there, and focus on the hands around her ribs. They're quite hairy, which isn't characteristic of Kent. I glance down for a moment, and there's no visible body hair. There are also several rings on the fingers, something Kent never wore.

I examine the general physique of the body behind her, and my brain struggles to piece it together. It's not his body; Kent has much broader shoulders.

"You can deny it all you want, Kent, but we had fantastic sex that night," she says, and I blink as something new catches my eye. I'm hardly even listening to their argument anymore.

"No, we absolutely did not," he counters, and I zoom in on a large birthmark on the hip in the picture. It's roughly the size of a quarter and dark, something I've never seen on him. He doesn't have any birthmarks; I've spent enough time with him to notice.

"This isn't Kent," I say calmly, causing both of them to stop.

"Juls, I know you're trying hard to hold onto him, but that's clearly Kent. Look at his face," she says, clasping her hands, and I furrow my eyebrows.

"I am," I respond, retrieving my own phone. I believe I understand why the face on this fake Kent looks strange. I access Instagram and quickly find a picture of Kent having a beer with Mark and Kyle from last year. Indeed, his head is turned to the side, looking at the glass with a relaxed smile. "This is the face you pasted onto that body," I confidently explain, showing her my phone.

"Um, no, Juls."

"Piper, please, stop and be quiet," I say firmly, and she clears her throat. "Kent doesn't wear rings, and his arms and general physique are more robust than whoever is in this picture."

"That's just what you want to see," she shrugs, and I shake my head.

"Kent doesn't have this birthmark," I state, zooming in on the hip of the person behind her. Her face drops. "I'd know, something like that would stand out."

I toss her phone back to her, and she flinches slightly as the angry and disgusted eyes around her intensify.

"I don't know who you paid to photoshop that, and I'll admit it's not bad, even had me fooled for a second," I say, shrugging and walking back to Kent's side, feeling ashamed that I had left for a moment. "But I know Kent, that's not him, and whoever it really is should file charges for privacy violations."

Kent squeezes my hip, indicating that he's grateful I didn't fall for it. It took a moment, I didn't believe it, and I'm glad I took the time to check. He takes a step toward her with a blank expression, and I hold him back beside me; it's not worth it to confront her.

"You're a crazy person. I should email the dean and have you expelled for this," he says quietly. "It's harassment, and it's disgusting. There's nothing you'll do to change my mind or make me stop dating Juls. You need help."

"Thanks for burning your naked picture into my head too," I add. "Maybe one day your boobs will develop." A chorus of snickers comes from behind me, and her face turns bright red. "Is there anything else you'd like to share with us about how unhinged you are?"

"She totally slept with your boyfriend," Chloe blurts out from behind her, and Piper's head nearly spins around like an owl's to glare at her. My heart starts racing. What is she talking about?

"I've never slept with Piper," Kent repeats, and Chloe shakes her head. "Don't you dare," Piper hisses, and Chloe steps forward.

"The one you had back in the fall, the blonde one," she tells me seriously, and my anger boils in my stomach. I recall the picture Kent sent, the leggy blonde against the wall, Dane pushing her up against it. It was Piper.

"What?"

"She started fooling around with him after Halloween when you and Kent got back together. He was over at the apartment all the time—"

"Chloe, you jerk, you're in deep trouble after this," Piper says, grabbing Chloe's wrist angrily, but Chloe rips it away and shoves her.

Well, one of them has a brain cell, and she's doing the right thing. The one who resembles Piper the most, the one I was certain was her most devoted follower. Not anymore.

"She told me all about this and her plan. She wanted you to break up with Kent after she already had him. Things got out of order when you and Kent broke up early," she explains, pushing her fake blonde hair back. "She used to text him all the time. I'd hear his voice from her room... I'm sorry, Juls. I should have said something," she says sadly, and I blink.

"You slept with Dane," I clarify.

"A lot," she shrugs. "Someone had to. He told me all the time he wasn't getting any with you." She adds in an irritating tone, and my fist clenches by my side. "Does Kent know you're a virgin, and he's just wasting his time looking for sex? Or am I going to interfere in this relationship too?"

She barely gets it all out when I throw a punch, even though I'm not much of a fighter. I've never punched anyone in my life, but I land a hard hit on her jaw. She goes flying backward, and before I can send another punch, a pair of arms wraps around my waist.

"Let me go!" I yell, kicking my legs.

"Juls, take it easy," Kent pleads, but I won't listen. I'm trying to break free from his grip as he carries me out of the kitchen.

"Kent, put me down!" I shout, and he takes me out onto the back deck, sets me down, shuts the back door, and keeps his hands firmly on my shoulders.

"You need to cool off; you just punched her," he whispers, turning me to face him.

"She deserved it," I mutter bitterly.

"I know, but I care about you too much to see you in jail," he whispers, and I feel a tear trickle down my cheek. "What's wrong?"

"I hate her," I whisper through hot tears, and he nods, picking me up.

"I hate her too, baby," he sighs.

"Why does she do so many things to try to hurt you and us?" I ask with a sob, and he shakes his head.

"I don't know," he sighs, rubbing his hands over my back.

"The fact that she slept with Dane—"

"You don't like Dane," he answers quickly.

"I know, but... God, it feels like I got deceived and let down by two people," I mumble, shaking my head, and he holds me tightly.

"I love you," he says softly. "I love you so much, and she's not worth all of this," he whispers, pulling back and brushing some hair from my face. "She didn't win; I think what just happened in there was a significant loss for her, especially considering her 'clones' were picking her up when I took you out here."

I sigh, and he cups my face, running his thumb over my cheekbone. "I'll never hurt you like that, sweetheart. There's no one I care about as much as I care about you. She's not worth your tears. Think about how much she just humiliated herself in there."

"True," I shrug.

"She showed us a picture of her having sex; that's embarrassing," he reminds me, and I manage a laugh. "Don't be sad; she didn't break us. I want to go back in there with you, but not if you're going to throw more punches."

"I won't," I mumble, and he chuckles.

"Remind me not to get on your bad side," he whispers, and I shrug.

"How about just don't upset me," I counter, and he laughs. "I love you," I whisper, and he nods.

"And I love you," he answers, briefly pressing his lips to mine. "The hard part is over."

"I know," I whisper, and he grins. "I've never punched anyone before."

"Well, you couldn't tell; you nailed her," he laughs, and I bite my lip. "I thought you were nice."

"I can be," I whisper. "It depends on who ruins my day."

"You've never punched me," he shrugs, and I laugh.

"You never made me mad enough," I remind him. "You're too cute; I can't mess up your face in good conscience."

"Well, I'm glad for that," he sighs, carrying me to the deck railing, and placing his lips on my forehead as he sets me down on it, standing between my legs. "I don't say this enough, but I'm so grateful you forgave me for the terrible things I've done," he sighs, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. "The fact that I used to... be the way I was is terrible."

"You weren't terrible," I sigh. "You just never let your feelings show."

"I'm still working on that," he whispers, and I nod. "I'm lucky to have you; you're amazing," he mumbles, and I grin. "Ready to go back inside?"

"Not yet, I want to stay out here for a few minutes," I mumble, reaching down for his hands.

"Do you think you're still dangerous?"

"No, I just... I like it out here with you. It makes me happy," I answer, and he chuckles, squeezing my hands. This was the end of an era, the closing of unfinished chapters from before we started dating. The Piper chapter had ended; now it was time for the Juls chapter to begin.
