Fighting Spirit Series Chapter 18: Alpha Summit
**Jack:**
I haven’t felt this good since I was a kid, after being busted by Eli and Seth, ignoring them getting back to my room.
I was walking on water and I was not letting them sink me. I managed to eat with Mei before leaving. It was all eye contact and silent smiles. Her eyes were slowly returning to life, changing back to her natural silver.
Now I am stuck in this truck for two hours with Eli. We’re heading to Damian’s clan for an Alpha summit. Why it has to be a week long beats me.
Last one we attended was a total nightmare. The whole damn time, we were breaking up fights then causing another one because we got involved to stop the original fight. How we managed to get anything done was astounding.
“Another Alpha Summit! Shoot me already.” Dropping my head back against the headrest. Eli laughed sarcastically at the mentioning of it.
“Yeah, let us pray to the Moon Goddess that we can actually have a normal week.” Eli shook his head, looking over at me rolling his eyes because we already know it wasn’t going to happen.
“It’s a waste of time because everyone wants to measure their dicks.” I said laughing, annoyed.
“Hey, if I remember correctly, you and Alpha Derek got into a heated battle over a damn cabin.” Eli said pointing his finger, batting it out of my face.
“It’s not just a cabin. It’s peaceful and it happens to land right on the same fucking border line.” I huffed, because it really is a peaceful place sitting on the edge of Moon Lake.
At night, it literally looks like the moon emerges from the water, when it is at its biggest. I have to take Mei up there. I’m sure a good surprise for her would be great.
“You need to hurry up and mark her. You’re killing me with the looks.” Eli laughed, staring at me more than the damn road, nearly sideswiping a car.
“Okay, coming from the guy pining over Riley.” I shot back; he and Riley have been mated for three days. At least he is mated. She turned eighteen the day after the fights.
“I know what I saw and I still cannot believe you refrained from marking her.” Eli side glanced me with his green eyes.
We have known Riley for years. Mei is not normal. She is special in more than one way.
“Look, you heard what Mei went through before she ended up in our fight.” I said looking at him sideways, not moving my head from the rest.
“I understand that but you’re Alpha ‘Bloodless’ Jack and you do not take prisoners.” Eli mocked in a lower voice. I laughed because he sounded like a bad version of Morgan Freeman.
“See, that’s what I’m saying, even your laugh is different. I’m simply happy you finally found your mate. Hell, so did I.” Eli laughed smiling like a boy on a sugar high.
“Look, when this damn summit is over, I’m planning on locking my bedroom door for two days and not emerging.” I laughed looking over at Eli who had the same damn smile, nodding in agreement.
“Deal. Seth can manage the clan for two days. Shit! He’s managing all week so what’s two more days.” Eli laughed sinisterly.
“Now, what kind of Alpha and Beta would that make us?” I asked, laughing; closing my eyes. Just thinking about two days alone with Mei. Oh, Fuck!
“This is too much, please stop!” Goki growled.
“Oh, what’s the matter?” I asked feeling his irritation growing.
“You know damn well what is wrong, asshole.” He snapped. Pacing around.
“Let’s get through this week and we will barricade ourselves in with Mei. Only emerging for food and water.” I hummed thinking about all the things we will do to that body.
“DAMN IT JACK! Now the truck reeks of arousal.” Eli laughed rolling his window down.
Both of us laughing knowing Eli was thinking about his two days with Riley. The drive was pretty entertaining, between the sudden arousals and joking back and forth. We finally made it to Damian’s pack house, which was an old Plantation styled house converted with a massive addition in the rear.
The large white pillars standing four stories, each with open balconies. Spanish moss draped in the trees, blowing gently in the Louisiana winds.
Damian’s clan was the only other clan, besides Demon Wolf that allowed females to be warriors on this side of the Dixie Line. There are about twenty clan Alpha’s present for this summit; all wanted strong clans, land to expand, and safety. It was always something petty that started fights. Damian greeted us as soon as we pulled up.
“Alpha Jack and Beta Eli, good to see you two again.” Damian smiled looking at the truck.
“What are you looking at Damian?” I asked grabbing my bag from the back of the truck.
“Your female warrior didn’t accompany you?” Damian asked with a frown. Oh, this guy is aiming to piss me off already.
“Why would she accompany us to an Alpha Summit?” I asked raising an eyebrow. What is he playing at?
“Oh, because I missed that fiery little thing. I wouldn’t have minded her coming then I could have taken her out to dinner.” Damian smiled with a mischievous look in his eyes. Goki became tense at the undertone in his statement.
“Damian, do I need to remind you of her ‘castrating’ ways?” Eli said walking over to us laughing. Damian naturally covered his junk letting a nervous cough out.
“So, who’s all here?” I asked looking at the cars, noticing a few new ones.
“That’s why I came out to greet you. We have an issue.” Damian said looking around before continuing.
“Raven.” Damian stated knowing all too well why he was here.
“Great, the biggest douche bag is at an Alpha Summit with hot headed idiots.” I exclaimed following Damian into the house. Getting settled in before joining the other Alpha’s in the Grand hall. Raven was not only a top-rated douche bag, but he was one of Titan’s biggest ‘donors’, always ranting about how emotionless fighters are the key to power and that emotions are the downfall of great and strong clans. True, emotions can be the destruction of one, but also the strength of another.
Mei was a perfect example of that; she was stripped of her emotions through torture, punishment, and other forms of brutality.
Psychological torture is the worst because it shuts down everything leaving primal instincts. I have to push these thoughts to the back before I murder him myself.
We made it through four days, minor disagreements, no Raven yet. I would catch glimpses of him here and there in the shadows, but he didn’t make a move. Well, that was going to change as we were fixing to wrap up day five, when clapping echoed through the room getting our attention.
Raven walked up to the platform, followed by a tall man with piercings and tattoos covering his arms and neck. He had a green eye and an amber eye, very muscular, crossing his arms over his broad chest, same stone face expression as Mei.
Emotionless.
“Jack, his eyes. Do you think that is ‘Max’ the one Mei mentioned?” Eli linked.
“I do not know, but he is definitely wolf-bear hybrid.” I replied.
“Good evening Alpha’s.” Raven said smugly, gaining low growls and grumbles.
“I will make this short and sweet. As you all know, I had a business arrangement with Titan to train and provide skilled fighters, void of emotions.”
“Well, a week ago, to my surprise, I received word that Titan never made it back to his facility after he was invited to a Fighters Championship at Alpha ‘Bloodless’ Jack’s clan.”
“Now, my sources say his convoy left after the fights were over, short of their prized fighter. An incredibly special fighter that had extreme fighting qualities.”
“She’s now a ranked warrior in his clan, however, with all due respects, she belongs to me. It was my investment that turned her into the fighter she is now.” Raven paused looking at me, my blood was boiling.
This arrogant bastard thinks his money created Mei; he is out of his God damn mind. Goki was on alert. Before he continued, I stood up.
“Raven, with all respect to the other Alpha’s present, as several here can support my statement, I announced before the fights started, that if a fighter could beat one of my Elite Warriors, they would be offered a position in my army. I gave everyone in attendance the opportunity to leave if they didn’t like my declaration, so in due regards to your prized fighter, she won her fight, and therefore, became a member of the Demon Wolf Clan.”
“What happened to Titan after that is of no concern to me, because he recklessly used your fighter to gain for himself.” I stated holding a cold, dangerous tone, watching as the Alpha’s nodded in agreement with my claim.
