Fighting Spirit Series Chapter 75: Fatherly Talk
**Jack:**
“They think of everything.” Goki and Brutus laughed as we slowly opened the door, auto-lights turned on two floor-to-ceiling lamps that released a soft glow across the vaulted ceiling, painted as the bayou sky in its rich dusty blue with large realistic clouds.
Forgetting this room had the corner wrap around terrace with the full lake view and lots of natural light during the day.
To the right were two white cribs covered in wolves, moons, stars, and little stuffed wolves in the corners. The walls were painted in a dark dusty blue, almost the color of a thundercloud before a heavy downpour, white trim to give it a very cozy modern look.
To the left of the room was the bathroom fully fitted to handle two at time, changing tables. The closet was filled with every kind of clothing, shoes, accessories, you name it, they bought it.
“Damn the girls did this.” A muted Eli stated from the room walking out finding the guys walking around the room, taking in every inch of what Izzy and Amelia pulled off.
Xander caught my attention as he looked at the ultrasounds placed gently on a white hand scraped shelf with little wooden blocks with painted wolves and stars.
“Your wife is something else.” I said pointing at Xander smiling ear-to-ear as he walked over to me. Pulling me into a tight hug, patting my back like a proud father.
“You don’t know how good it is to hear you talk about Amelia, having Seth, my oldest as your Gamma, my youngest son looks up to you, to this clan. Thank you, Alpha Jack, for saving my family from that hellhole.” Xander said, as he pulled back with intense emotion evident in his eyes. Eli walked over patting his shoulder with a smile.
“Amelia has been a mother to us these past, almost eight years.” Eli said as Xander’s face contorted in questioning. I nodded my head.
“Amelia showed up one day with two boys, begging for safe haven from Alpha Aldo. My father was not in his right mind at the time, so Eli and I helped her to take safe haven in return she started working in the Clinic as the Assistant Medical Advisor. She only told us that her mate was dead and that she feared for the safety of her family.” I said watching Xander’s face become hardened with a deadly stare.
“It planned out as we originally thought when our father finally passed. Aldo attacked us in the middle of the night, but we had planned for him to show, meeting him and his warriors with force. Eli and I killed Aldo; Beta Tucker attacked us resulting in his death. The few warriors that submitted agreed to join our ranks. We brought back the women and children, setting them up in the village, some moved to the city, but work at three of our satellite offices.” I stated watching as the lights turned off revealing the star covered ceiling of a perfect bayou starry night.
“Where’s Dean?” Xander asked watching as everyone’s jaws flexed and clenched under the mention of his name.
“You said you escaped Raven’s West Coast warehouse. When?” I asked watching as his eyes scanned the floor before catching my gaze.
“I need to speak to Dean. That’s how I ended up in that hellhole!” Xander hissed capturing my gaze as he paced slowly around. Lexi stepped forward nodding his head.
“Xander, I need you to calm down and Lexi is going to show you everything that has transpired. It’s faster this way.” I said as Xander looked between Lexi and me as he nodded to Lexi. Lexi placed his hands on Xander’s head, thumbs over his eyes, Lexi closing his eyes watching as both of them fell into a hypnotic trance.
Xander snapped his eyes open, growling, dropping to his knees howling in pain. Lexi kneeled beside him patting his shoulder, helping him to stand up. Xander looked between all of us standing there with concerned expressions.
“I always knew Mei was special, but never in a million years would I have believed the ‘Spirit Wolf’ existed.” Xander whispered looking at Lexi smiling like the proud brother he is. “Problems?” Desmond’s voice sounded at the door as he walked in looking at the nursery with bright eyes and a sly smile. Dominic followed close behind running his eyes over the room, smiling like a kid in a toy store.
“Your highness.” Xander knelt bowing his head to Desmond. Desmond smiled looking at me with a raised eyebrow.
“Please stand. Just call me Desmond.” Desmond laughed rubbing the back of his neck. Xander stood nodding his head, smiling nervously.
“If you are here that means the girls are on their way to the city.” I said looking at the guys smiling, raising eyebrows.
“Yep. And what’s this I hear; you had a freak out with Amelia?” Desmond laughed popping the p, as he raised a brow questioning my sudden panic about the pups.
“Okay. I kind of panicked when Amelia linked me asking about taking Mei shopping for the twins. That is why we are in here.” I smiled rubbing the back of my neck, like a nervous father-to-be.
Xander and Desmond started laughing shaking their heads. Desmond seemed to understand this silent communication between them when they both turned to me smiling.
“It’s normal to freak out. Hell! I forgot the way to the Clinic when Amelia went into labor with Seth.” Xander laughed looking at Seth, grabbing his shoulder.
“Hah. Izzy broke my nose when her water broke.” Desmond laughed watching Dominic shift awkwardly. We all started laughing shaking our heads.
“Knowing my wife, if she went all the way for the twins like this, it just means how important you all are to her.” Xander smiled receiving a firm pat on the shoulder from Desmond.
Motioning to the guys to head back to the office as I took one more look at the room.
“JACK!” A distraught Izzy screamed from the hallway.
Rushing out to find Izzy dropping Milly and Riley, wounded.
Izzy was bleeding from a deep cut above her right brow.
“Izzy what happened? Where’s Mei and Amelia?” I shouted as I slid to my knees grabbing Izzy before she collapsed to the ground. Crying heavily as Lexi and Eli scooped Milly and Riley up, taking off with Seth and Max to the Clinic. Desmond grabbed Izzy pulling her into his arms.
“Victor. Rocko, Jaxon and Braxton are hurt. The SUV.” Izzy incoherently spoke as she slowly slipped into unconsciousness.
“WHAT!” I boomed hearing windows shatter along the hallway. Feeling this deep murderous sensation erupt in the pit of my stomach.
“Jack, we need to get to the Clinic now.” Desmond shouted grabbing my arm ‘poofing’ us into the Clinic where chaos erupted getting the girls stable, before figuring out what to do next.
“Jack, we found Rocko, Jaxon and Braxton.” Max linked.
“Mei and Amelia?” I asked pacing frantically.
“Victor has them. Rocko managed to capture one of Victor’s hybrids.” Seth linked. My pacing growing more animalistic.
“How are the guys?” I asked agitated.
“Jaxon has a bad laceration on his back; Braxton has a few broken ribs. Rocko looks like he could use an ice bath, Max is trying to keep him from ripping this piece of shit apart.” Seth laughed nervously.
“Get them back here. NOW! Take our friend to the ‘Barn’.” I replied looking at the guys staring at me with murderous looks.
“Victor has Mei and Amelia. Seth and Max are bringing Rocko, Jaxon, and Braxton back with a “friend”.” I hissed growled feeling the dark murderous fire boil.
Roger rushed in with a few of the female warriors and Izzy’s Aunt Eve.
“Eve what are you doing here?” Desmond asked questioning her appearance.
“I had a weird intuition something was wrong. I haven’t ‘poofed’ in years; it knocked my knickers off a little.” She annoyingly stated as she waved her hand in the air, slipping on a white medical coat, barking orders, and pointing to the female warriors to get medical supplies, while she went to work on the girls’ wounds.
“You boys go find that bastard and bring them girls and pups home safely.” She yelled as she pushed Lexi, Eli, and Desmond out of the Clinic.
Not wanting to fight a woman like Eve, we all turned on our heels heading straight for the ‘Barn’.
Brutus and Goki were beyond control, but they knew we had to get the information first before murdering this fucking asshole.
Goddess, please hear my plea. Protect Mei, our pups, Amelia. PLEASE! I silently pleaded to Selene, The Goddess of Wolves
