Fighting Spirit Series Chapter 91: Feisty Old Woman

“Oh, my Goddess! Who is this cute little one?” Ella asked softly walking up to Rocko holding Micah on his chest.

“That is Micah and this is Nikola.” I smiled as I pulled Nikola up to burp him, covering my exposed breast quickly.

“Here, I can take him while you go clean up.” Ella held her hands out for Nikola, smiling brightly. I nodded gently as she scooped him up, patting him from the butt as she walked slowly around the room.

“It has been years since I held a newborn. Their sweet soft scent, their soft silky skin, those little fingers.” Ella cooed as Nikola burped loudly causing Ella to laugh lightly.

“Ella, if you don’t mind me asking, why is it so important to fill the throne? I mean it seems like history likes to make an example out of the throne and who sits on it.” I asked as I walked out the bathroom after washing up.

“Perfect question. You brought up earlier about Victor, Raven, and Titan, and why nothing was done about them. Fear, my dear child. Even though we have Elders to make sure the laws are followed, there are those who fear the unknown. I watched closely how you and Alpha Jack interact with one another and I might add you two are perfect together. These little ones will be the next Crowned Royals, after you and Jack retire in the future.” Ella smiled brightly as Nikola gripped his little fingers into her silk top, snuggling down into her chest.

“I remember the day my son Astro was born. He was so tiny and I was terrified I would break his little body. He turned out to be smart and stronger than most his age.” Ella smiled as she looked at us with mouths agape.

“Astro was your son?” I asked as I walked over to lay Micah down in his crib.

“Yes. Did you know him?” Ella asked with a raised eyebrow, soft smile forming on her red tinted lips.

“No, but he saved Lexi after our clan was slaughtered by Raven’s men.” I frowned slightly as she dropped her eyes to Nikola smiling sweetly at his little face as he slipped into sleep.

“Mei, I’m so sorry you had to experience that, and Lexi.” Ella softly stated as her voice cracked with emotion. I motioned for her to lay Nikola down in his crib as I gave the guys a soft nod to leave us.

“Link us if you need anything.” Rocko linked as they walked out quietly.

Turning to see Ella rubbing her finger down Micah’s cheek. I motioned for us to step out onto the terrace as I turned the light off, revealing the starry bayou sky ceiling as we stepped out to the lounge chairs.

“Mei, I wanted to put an end to Raven and Titan, but not having official standing our hands were tied. My son, Astro was sent to work in the underground keeping tabs on everything, so when the time came, we had enough to bring them down. Then I received word that Astro was dead. The same man who killed my son was also his father.” Ella started crying as she dropped her head down into her palms.

“Raven was his father?” I asked softly as I rubbed her back as she sobbed quietly, nodding her head ‘yes’.

“Raven was not like that when I met him over a hundred years ago. We both were young and being an Elder meant we had no destined mate. Raven was gorgeous when he walked into the little café I was resting at in Rome. He sat down with a certain air to him, a free-spirited vibe. We talked for a while, walking the streets of Rome as we just enjoyed each other’s company. One thing led to another and it was the best night I had ever had. Shortly after, I found out I was with child and Raven had disappeared into the underground.” Ella sobbed harder as she spoke about Raven.

“When I gave birth to Astro, I swore that Raven would never have the pleasure to know unconditional love. Especially after we discovered several clans had been destroyed, children placed into training facilities, fought for greed.” Ella snapped her eyes up full of rage, hurt, betrayal. I grabbed her hand understanding her inner storm of emotions.

“I promise you, as a mother and a woman, that whatever you need to be happy to rule properly on the throne, I am behind you all the way.” Ella gripped my hands tightly with soft motherly eyes.

“Ella, thank you for that. Raven destroyed a lot of people’s lives and I will make sure that we do whatever we can to put some order back into place, so that something like this never happens again.” I smiled at her bright face as she wiped away the stream of tears that left red streaks.

“You have a strong spirit Mei and I see great things for you both. If you need me ever, here is my contact information.” Ella smiled as she handed me a black embossed card with her name and contact information.

“Thank you.” I replied as we both stood walking quietly through the nursery, stopping briefly to check the boys, before heading back downstairs.

Loud commotion erupted as we approached the ground floor, making haste to the loud voices, deep growling, and hissing.

“What the hell is going on?” I screamed as I walked in finding Eli holding down Vance with a knee to the back of his neck. To prevent him from murdering someone, Desmond was holding Randy back.

“What the fuck? I leave for twenty minutes and you idiots are already fighting.” Ella screamed as she stepped beside me, her eyes glowing a deep shade of green.

“This fucking fairy thinks he deserves something for his presence with the King.” Randy shouted as he tried to pull from Desmond’s hold.

“You little bastard. I told you before, that being a Royal Elder is the highest honor for an Elder Advisor.” Ella stalked over motioning to Eli to let him go. Vance pushed up from the ground, flashing Ella a sly smirk, which she backhanded off his face quickly.

“Your uncle will hear of your disrespect to the Crown.” Ella grabbed him by his throat, slamming him into the wall.

“Feisty old woman.” Moon hissed in laughter.

“Alpha Jack, I apologize to you and Mei, and all of Demon Wolf for this idiots lack of self-respect.” Ella said as she looked over her shoulder at us standing in amazement.

“It happens Ella, and I do not hold any grudge against this mindless idiot and his so called “ideals”. JR said as he walked to me pulling me against his chest stroking my cheek.

“How are the boys?” He asked as he brushed a stray piece of hair from my face.

“They are precious little gems and sleeping.” Ella cooed as she tapped her extended claw against Vance’s cheek, releasing him slowly as he choked for air.

“I would have let him suffer longer.” Kyou growled deeply as she paced silently.

“Ella was Astro’s mother.” I said as Ella turned on her heel swiftly fixing her silk top that wrinkled up. Max and Lexi both gasped.

“Yes. Astro was my son. The Elders sent him to work the underground to keep tabs and collect information for the time when we could actually stop Raven and Titan.” Ella said coldly as she walked over to Lexi smiling at him softly.

“My son taught you well Lexi.” Ella said as he grabbed her in a solid hug, apologizing into her ear.

“I will state this now and clearly, as the Head Elder Advisor, the Crown has my full support and anything you need, call me.” Ella said as she turned back to Vance leaning against the wall holding his throat.

“Only two Elders in this room understand the pain inflicted by Raven and you are not one of them, being sheltered from the dark horrors that hide in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. The Supernatural Council will hear of your lack of self-discipline and blatant disrespect to the future sitting Royals. I hereby place you under arrest by Supernatural Law. You can speak on your behalf to the Council.” Ella said, as she drew a symbol on Vance’s chest, a translucent red band appeared around his neck as his lips sealed shut by the same translucent band.

“Randy, if you could please take us back to headquarters.” Ella turned looking at Randy, shaking hands with Desmond as he walked slowly over to the stone wall, drawing a symbol, a blue portal appeared.

“It was an honor to meet you all. Until the Coronation; we will be in contact before then.” Ella said walking over to me one last time, hugging me.

“Take care of those sweet little boys.” Ella said as she placed a soft kiss to my cheek. Walking over to Randy throwing Vance into the portal as Ella stepped through as it closed, revealing the stone wall again.

“Really, I leave for what, thirty minutes and all hell breaks loose.” I laughed as I turned to the liquor cabinet pouring me a whiskey, downing it in one gulp.

“What did Ella mean about two Elders knowing the pain Raven inflicted?” Max asked with his palms lying flat on the tabletop.

“I saw an image of a young girl when Randy made eye contact with me, before I went upstairs.” Pouring another whiskey making it a triple.

“JR, we need to do this and do it right.” Downing the whiskey turning on my heel leaning against the cabinet crossing my arms.

“We need to prepare for the Coronation and decide how we are going to manage the Supernatural Kingdom.” JR huffed rubbing his face with his hands.

We stood around sharing looks while the guys silently linked between one another. JR grabbed my hand as we left the dining room, silently saying “goodnight” as we made our way out to the lake to watch the sun set in silence. Enjoying the peaceful serenading sounds of the forest blowing in the dusk breeze.
