Fighting Spirit Series Chapter 84: CONGRATULATIONS!

“JACK! MEI!” We all started shouting walking towards the crater, listening, howling loudly for a reply.

Argo and Aki stirred anxiously. We all howled into the grayish cloud covered sky, hoping they made it out before it collapsed. The heavy atmosphere heightened with each passing second as we all scanned the rubble, while Xander got Amelia and the twins covered under heavy fur blankets. Gus took off towards the rubble tying a rope to a tree to propel down into the massive crater.

“Gus, let me spot you.” I yelled as I grabbed the rope helping him lower down enough to scan the rubble of chunks of ice and stone masonry.

Just as Gus was fixing to descend, a loud booming howl drew our attention to the Eastern side of the crater. Jack stalked slowly carrying a body draped across his chest, bouncing limply against his strides in the heavy snow. The air became stale as we realized the body was Mei. Her long ebony locks drifted gently in the wind, matted, tangled, covered in debris.

“Lexi, I need blankets and a shirt.” Jack shouted as he reached us slowly, laying Mei’s body down on the fur covered sled. Her body flopped limply against the sled as Jack slid a shirt over her naked, scarred, bruised, slashed body.

“Is she…” I stopped mid-sentence when Jack looked up capturing my gaze with golden eyes, smiling brightly.

“When she wakes up, ask her to show you. I’m still trying to figure it all out myself.” Jack laughed as he stood slowly, sliding on sweats and a shirt.

Walking over to Amelia crouching down peaking at his two boys laying peacefully in Amelia’s arms. The pride we all felt at that moment etched itself into the frozen Siberian landscape.

“Jack, we need to get them fed.” Amelia said placing her free hand on his arm smiling brightly at him.

“I’m so proud of you boys.” Amelia smiled cupping Jack’s face smiling between us, then her face dropped looking questioning at all of us.

“Where’s Eli?” She asked as Jack realized his brother was not there like always. Jack snapped his eyes to us, face looking stern.

“Oh, do not get your knickers in a bunch.” Eli laughed as he stalked over to us covered in blood, scratches, claw marks down his side.

“DAMN IT ELI!” Jack boomed grabbing him into a tight brotherly embrace.

“Hah. You’re not getting rid of me that easy. I just had some business to attend to.” Eli smiled evilly.

“Now, we should be getting the hell out of here. LIKE NOW!” Eli said circling his finger in the air to signal to move out.

“FUCK!” We all shouted shifting as Allister’s sled teams made haste getting far away from the scene before Eli’s business exploded into a fiery ball.

“Had to make sure there were “no loose ends”.” Eli laughed darkly as we made our way back to the private airstrip.

Getting everyone loaded up, showing gratitude to Allister’s clan and him for his help, along with the clans that assisted. Jack got Mei setup in the sleeper cabin with the twins, so Amelia could pump some of Mei’s milk for the boys. We all settled in as the plane took off as the snowstorm cleared enough to make a decent take-off.

“I think a vacation is in order after this.” Eli laughed laying his head back against the leather sofa. We all laughed as Desmond and Dominic walked over with a tray of glasses and whiskey. The sleeper cabin door clicked closed as Jack made his way over to us.

“How are they?” Desmond asked handing him a glass of whiskey as he slid into one of the captain styled chairs, dropping his head back against the headrest.

“Perfect!” He said as his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly as he looked at us under hooded eyes, smiling like the Cheshire cat.

“Amelia fell asleep with them in between her and Mei.” Jack smiled as he tipped his glass at all of us, saluting like a proud father, Alpha, and King.

“To family. To those who fought bravely and will never be forgotten.” Jack said as we all nodded, downing our whiskeys, pouring another round.

“Xander, thank you for sending Gus. He was the reason the girls were able to escape.” Jack smiled pointing his finger at Xander holding his glass in hand puffing his chest out like a proud father.

“Alpha. You, Mei, the twins, and Eli are Amelia’s family. I would do anything in this world to make her happy, keep her happy, and make happy memories, just for her.” Xander held his glass up in the air. Winking at the guys nodding in agreement.

“So, do you mind explaining the eyes?” I asked leaning forward pointing to my eyes, cocking a half-ass grin.

“Have you looked in the mirror lately?” Jack smiled laughing lightly as he closed his eyes, laying his hands across his stomach. Seth handing me a grooming mirror, gasping at the sight of golden eyes. My eyes. The overhead intercom clicked on.

“Alpha, can you come to the cockpit.” The captain asked before clicking the intercom off.

“Now what?” Jack exhaled as he stood up walking to the cockpit. Knocking three times, before entering.

Disappearing behind the bulletproof door.

“Please, no more excitement for one day.” Eli sighed sinking down into his seat as the cockpit opened with Jack rubbing his temples, laughing.

“What?” We all asked looking curiously at his amused expression as he slid back into his seat.

“Well, apparently while we have been gone, the Royal Elders appeared asking for a meeting with the New King and Queen. In addition to that, Riley and Milly’s lycans have awakened. Congratulations! You are both fathers-to-be.” Jack laughed pointing between Eli and me with our mouths hanging agape.

“WHAT!” Eli and I both exhaled as Jack held his finger up to his lips indicating “shush” pointing to the sleeper cabin. Closing his eyes with a smug smirk as Eli and I stared at each other’s shocked contorted expressions.
