"I'm telling you for the last time, man. Keep your fuckin' hands off me, bro," Gill said as the massive security guard tossed him into the center of the room, before handing the phone to Chip.

"Thank you, Blue Three. Please wait outside in the hallway," Chip said.

"What the fuck, Melody?" Gill huffed. "What's up with sending that fucking gorilla to come get me? The itinerary says we have a break until four o' clock."

"This isn't about the schedule, Gill," I said.

"Why did he take my phone?"

"What's going on, boss?" Vick asked.

"That's a great question," I replied. "Gill, would you like to tell Vick and the rest of us what the actual fuck is going on?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Gill replied.

"I'm talking about Carrie Harker," I said.

"Am I supposed to know who that is?" Gill replied, the color draining from his face.

"I'm sorry," I replied. "Maybe you only know her as 'Morgzfangirl333.'"

Gill shook his head, his eyes darting nervously around the room.

"What's all 'dis?" Puddin' asked Gill. "Who's Carrie? What the fuck is Melody talking about?"

Gill said nothing.

"I'll tell you," I said breaking the silence. "Carrie is a fourteen-year-old girl in Pooler, Georgia. She's a high school freshman and an active member of the Melody Morgan fan club. She's also currently being preyed upon by a sick fuck who's nearly twice her age."

"W-wait a minute," Gill stuttered. "All we've done is text. And she told me she was eighteen."

"Bullshit!" I shouted. "Chip has access to your messages, and he showed them to me. All of them. You knew Carrie's age, what school she went to, and exactly where she lived. In fact, you were planning on meeting her when we play our last show in Savannah."

"You can't read my texts!" Gill protested. "That's fuckin' invasion of privacy."

"No," Chip said, holding up the phone. "This is a felony committed with the aid of company property."

"You fookin' piece of shite. I bloody vouched for you," Puddin' growled before lunging at Gill.

Fortunately for Gill, Chip was a step ahead of Puddin' and got between them before he could do any damage.

Puddin's hard living past was the stuff of legends. Legends that rarely made it past the age of twenty-seven. He'd come up during the Britpop scene of the 1990's and quickly made a name for himself as not only a top-notch bassist, and songwriter, but a top-notch junkie and hellraiser. Fortunately, he'd gotten sober seven years ago and turned his life around, which was when I first started working with him. I loved him dearly and only knew him as a kind and gentle man. I'd never seen this side of him but understood exactly where his rage was coming from.

"It's okay Puddin'," I said, placing my hand on his chest to calm him as Chip placed Gill in a bear hug.

"You're fired. Effective immediately," I said to Gill. "Your tech will pack up all your gear and it will be shipped to your address along with your final paycheck. I'd suggest you spend it on a lawyer."

"This is complete bullshit," Gill protested. "I'm gonna sue you for breach of contract. I haven't done anything wrong."

"You can explain that to the police," I said. "We've already contacted the local authorities as well as the Ben Hill County PD."

"You're a fucking crazy bitch," Gill snarled as he struggled to free himself.

"You have no idea how crazy I can get," I snapped. "I'm gonna make it my life's mission to make sure you go to jail for this. And, if you ever so much as look at one of my fans again, I'll burn you to the goddamned ground."

Just then, the dressing room door opened. "The police have arrived, sir," Blue Three said.

"Looks like your ride is here," Chip said, moving Gill towards the door as he continued to rain down curses.

The dressing room door slammed shut, leaving me alone with my remaining band members.

"I'm sorry, love. I swear I had no idea—"

"Pud, I swear, if you finish that sentence, I'll fire you as well," I said.

He nodded.

"Andy. Can you cover Gill's guitar parts tonight?" I asked.

"Of course, boss. I'll do my best."

"Good. Because if we go down in flames tonight, this tour is over before it's begun."

Rod's eyes widened. "Does Harmony know about any of this?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"What are you going to tell her?"

"Absolutely nothing. Harmony isn't my tour manager anymore. This is my call and my problem to solve."

"TGZ will be all over this story by the morning," Rod said.

As if anyone had to school me on the way The Gossip Zone operated. Those bastards nearly ruined my life once, and I'd be damned if I'd ever fall prey to them again.

"Let's just get through tonight's gig and then I'll figure out the replacement guitarist situation. Until then, everyone keeps their mouths shut on the matter, okay?"

Rod chuckled.

"What?" I asked.

"Things have been so easy breezy over the past two months that I was starting to forget what the old days were like. But now it feels like a Melody Morgan tour."
