Flash

I kissed Tate before grabbing Niall's gifts and taking her hand, leading her into the bowling alley. We were a little late, and I hoped my sister didn't kill me.

"Uncle Flash!" Niall bellowed. "Over here!"

I looked up and saw him waving to me from the left side of the alleys, and we made our way to the group, setting Niall's presents on the table with the others. It looked like my sister had reserved half a dozen lanes for the festivities and people were already starting to bowl.

"Hey, bud," I said, giving him our signature handshake. "Sorry we're late. This is Tate."

Before Niall could greet her, however, my sister let out a loud squeal and made a run for Tate. "Oh my god, Tate Burke. You actually forgave him?"

Tate laughed, hugging her back. "I did."

"He said as much, but I'd hoped you'd make him beg for at least a week, but it looks like you're a lost cause."

"Hey," I growled.

Poppy grinned. "You better not screw it up this time."

"I don't plan to." I hugged my sister, then took Tate's hand again and guided her toward my parents. My mom was already out of her seat and heading our way.

This was Tate's official debut as my woman, even though everyone had known about our relationship status for a few weeks, we'd kept things pretty low-key while we were reconnecting.

Mom bypassed me and pulled Tate in for a hug. "Hello, darling."

Tate pulled her hand out of mine in order to hug her back. "Hi, Maisie."

"So, this is how it's gonna be?" I asked. "I'm chopped liver?"

Mom chuckled, releasing Tate just long enough to hug me. "Only time will tell. Come on over, we saved you a spot."

"I'm happy to sit out the bowling," Tate said. "I was kind of a last-minute addition."

"We got extra lanes in case," Mom said. "There's plenty of room."

"I'll go grab us shoes," I offered, leaning down to kiss Tate quickly. "Be back."

"Go find a ball while he's doing that, love," Mom said, and I smiled at Tate and made my way to the shoe rental.

Once I had our shoes, I jogged back to the group, greeting a few of my biker brethren on the way, but cutting my hellos short because I just wanted to get back to Tate.

Tate was already in her socks, sitting at the table waiting for me. "You just have to talk to every single person in the world, don't you?" she teased, sliding her feet into her shoes.

I grinned. "I plead the fifth."

"Perfect fit," she said. "You remember my shoe size?"

I shook my head. "I looked at your shoes before we left the hotel."

She wrinkled her nose. "Oh, I thought maybe you were a superhero."

I leaned down close, whispering in her ear, "I am a fuckin' superhero and I'll show you more evidence of that later."

She laughed. "Can't wait."

Niall's birthday party was a blast and the celebration carried on with family night at the club. My nephew felt like a rock star with all the attention heaped upon him at both the bowling alley and family night. He even got two cakes, much to Poppy's dismay.

"He's gonna be bouncing off the walls," she said.

"Which is why we're stayin' here," Sparky said, wrapping an arm around her waist. "There are at least a dozen recruits who will wrangle the kids so we can… do other things."

"And that's our cue to walk away," I retorted, taking Tate's hand, and leading her back to the pool tables. I sat on a chair and pulled her into my lap, kissing her neck.

"I know I've said this a million times before, but I love your family," Tate said, shifting so she could meet my eyes. "All of them."

"I know, baby. They love you too," I said. "You feel like sneaking away?"

"Can we?" she whispered.

"Hell, yeah, we can."

"Then, lead the way, sexy."

Tate

Flash grabbed a couple of beers and a bottle of wine before leading me up to a room at the club. It was a nice room, but the bed was small, so it was going to be interesting. "That's not a twin, is it?"

Flash chuckled. "Double, but it might as well be. I'm not high enough in the ranks to have a designated room." He wrapped his arms around me. "You'll just have to cuddle."

I rolled my eyes. I wasn't a big cuddler and he'd found that out last night. I ran hot and when I slept, I wanted nothing touching me except a sheet and maybe one blanket. Another human body… no way.

"Counter suggestion," I said.

"Yeah?"

"Fuck me all night, so there'll be no reason to cuddle."

Flash dropped his head back and laughed. "Challenge accepted."

I looped my arms around his neck. "Are you sure it's okay we're up here?"

"We're not teenagers sneaking off in our parents' homes, baby."

"I know, but it is a family night, so I just want to make sure…"

He raised an eyebrow. "My parents left the party an hour ago."

"Your dad's the president of the club, Flash. I may not know much, but I'm pretty sure that since he's the boss, he can do whatever he wants."

"There is that," he conceded. "But I promise, it's all good."

I kissed him. "Well, I'm not one to complain about a chance to get your D, so how about we get naked?"

He kissed me again. "Yes ma'am. But I have something for you first."

I grinned. "A present? You know how much I love presents."

As I kept my arms around his neck, he slid his hand into his pocket and pulled out a plastic bubble thing. It looked like something you'd get in a gumball machine.

"What the heck is that?" He grinned, popping the top off and I gasped. Inside the little plastic bubble was a fake diamond ring. "Oh my god."

"I won this today when I was contributing to Niall's arcade addiction."

I'd watched him with all the kids, taking note of the way he was with the little ones and knowing immediately he was going to be an incredible dad.

He pulled the ring out of the bubble and took my hand. "My beautiful Tate, will you accept this until I can get you a real ring?"

He slid it on, and it stopped at my knuckle, so he stretched the plastic gently and tried again. It fit perfectly and I threw myself against him. "Yes. Of course, honey. I will be proud to wear it."

"Do you want to pick your ring, or do you trust me to do it?" he asked.

"That feels like a trick question," I complained.

"Not a trick, Tate, I just know you."

"Except, if I say I want to pick it, then it sounds like I'm saying I don't trust you and that's not the truth."

"We'll choose it together, then."

I grinned. "But you know I trust you right?"

"Yeah, baby. I know."

"Now, it's my turn to give you a present," I said, my hands going to the waistband of his jeans.

"Oh yeah?"

I grinned, kneeling in front of him. "Hell, yeah."
