The Biker's Fate Chapter 544
Flash
One week later, Tate walked out of our bedroom, a giant grin on her face.
"I haven't given you an orgasm yet, Tater. You shouldn't look this happy," I said.
She rolled her eyes. "I didn't get the job."
She'd had six interviews since I'd met her and had five rejections so far. This was now her sixth and she seemed to be taking them quite well.
I frowned. "But you're happy about that?"
"Yes. Honestly, I didn't want it. I didn't want to have to do that drive every day." She wrapped her arms around my waist. "It also takes the pressure off about the Bar. I'm so close, but I need more time to study and if I had to work full time, I'd be distracted. I have enough savings to keep me going for three months, so I'll—"
"Baby, you've got more than three months."
"I don't want you to feel like I'm mooching."
"I don't think you're mooching."
She sighed. "I'd like to help with the mortgage."
"I get it, but I'd rather you focus on your career," I said, sliding my hands to her ass and squeezing. "I've got something for you."
"You do?"
I grinned. "I do. But you need to decide whether or not you want it now, or later in the form of a public display of affection."
"You got my ring back," she guessed.
"I got your ring back."
Truth be told, it had been delivered to the jeweler two weeks ago, but I wasn't happy with the diamond. No, let me rephrase. My mother wasn't happy with the diamond. She'd come with me to pick it up and insisted I replace it with something better, so I did. It had taken another two weeks to come back, and Tate had been remarkably patient in waiting for it.
"Would you be bummed out if I said I didn't want a big to-do?"
I chuckled. "Not even a little bit."
"Oh my god, I'm dying to know which one you picked."
"Okay, so, now?"
"Now," she confirmed, and I slid my hand into my pocket and pulled out the ring. Palming it, I leaned down to kiss her before kneeling in front of her. "I love you, Tater. Will you marry me?"
Holding the ring up, she gasped covering her mouth with her hands. "Oh my god, you didn't!"
"I absolutely did."
I'd gotten her the ring that made her heart sing, complete with a one-carat oval diamond settled in the center.
She cupped my face, tears sliding down her face. "I love you more than ice cream. Yes, I'll marry you."
I grinned, standing, and sliding the ring on her hand and she threw her arms around me. "I do not deserve you."
I pulled her close, kissing her again, before she leaned against me and held her hand up to the light. "Holy cow, honey, look how it sparkles," she squeaked.
"You like it, then?"
"I love it. I can't believe you spent that much money," she whispered.
"Don't you worry about that, Tate."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure." I cuffed her chin. "Quit worryin' about shit that's all good."
"I don't know why I'm so on edge," she whispered.
"Well, don't worry about it, Chicken Little." I kissed her temple. "There's no sky falling today."
"You're right. I'm good." She relaxed against me and nodded. "I am ceasing my worrying immediately."
I laughed. "Okay, baby. I like that."
"Now, it's time for me to thank you properly." She took my hand and tugged me toward the bedroom. "I want you naked and on your back on the bed, pronto."
"Mmm, I love bossy Tate."
"You might change your mind after tonight, but I'm gonna have some fun before you make your final decision."
"I'm in," I said, and followed her into the bedroom.
Tate
We undressed as quickly as we could, laughing when Flash got his foot caught in the leg of his jeans, hopping around the room trying to kick it off.
He kicked so hard, the jeans when flying, and he set his hands on his hips and sighed. "Well, so much for sexy. I suppose we'll have to settle for RomCom sex."
"I'm gonna suck the RomCom right off of you, honey, so I'm pretty sure we'll find our way to sexy before you know it." I pointed to the bed. "Assume the position."
His nostrils flared slightly as he took a quick breath, then he grinned and jumped onto the bed, laying on his back, his arms stretched out, crossing his legs at the ankles.
I kneeled on the mattress, throwing a leg over his hips so I was straddling him and facing my prize. Leaning down to run my tongue up the length of his already hard cock, I wrapped my mouth around the tip, sucking gently as I slid my hand up and down.
"Fuck," he breathed out, and then I lost purchase on his dick as I was lifted and dropped onto the mattress. Flash slid into me, linking his fingers with mine and dragging my hands above my head.
"I was never gonna get to finish, was I?" I panted out.
He grinned. "Nope."
"Flash," I hissed.
"Baby, your pussy was right there." He pressed deeper. "You can't blame me for wanting to bury myself in it."
His dick hit my G-spot and I immediately forgot why I was irritated with him, arching into him as he slammed into me again.
"Can't wait, baby," he warned, rolling my nipple between his fingers.
"Go, honey."
We came together, and he kissed me gently as he released my hands. I wrapped my arms around him and held him tight. "I love you so hard."
He chuckled, stroking my cheek. "Love you, too, baby."
Sliding out of me, he kissed me again. "Be right back."
Flash stepped into the bathroom, and I couldn't stop myself from holding my hand above me, absolutely reveling in the sparkle of my ring.
"Don't get blinded by all that bling, baby," Flash joked as he settled a warm washcloth between my legs.
I cupped his face as he hovered over me. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He kissed me again, then flopped down beside me, pulling me over his chest.
I kissed his shoulder, wrapping an arm around his waist. "Are you hungry?"
"Starved."
"Pizza?"
"Fuck yeah," he said. "I'll order."
I grinned. "Awesome."
The pizza had just been delivered when Flash's phone rang and he glanced at the screen, then frowned. "It's Mack."
"Answer it," I said, as I pulled plates down from the cabinet.
"Hey, Mack. Yeah. Yeah, she's right here, hold on." Flash held his phone out. "He wants to talk to you."
Mack was an officer for the club, and I didn't know him well. I actually knew his wife, Darien, more because her daughter, Teagan, was in a couple of my classes, and Darien was really involved in the PTA.
"Hi, Mack," I said.
"Hey, Tate. Are you still lookin' for a job?"
I covered the microphone and whispered, "You told him I'm looking for a job?"
Flash shook his head. "No. Dad might have."
"Ah, yes. I'm still looking for a job."
"Any interest in working for me? I need a paralegal, like, yesterday."
"Um, well, I'm studying for the Bar, so eventually, I'd want to move up."
"Even better," he said. "If you come work for me and it's mutually beneficial, I'll give you paid time off to take the Bar and hire you on as a junior associate."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Give me your email and I'll send over an offer. I'd need you to start Monday. I'll only need you in the office one day a week. I know you're up in Vancouver, so that commute's a bitch. You can work from home unless we need to meet, but I won't be a dick about it. I'll give you notice if you have to commute."
I bit back tears. "Ah, wow. Sure, yes, send over the offer and I'll have a look at it."
"Great. You're savin' my ass, Tate. I appreciate it."
I rattled off my email address, then we rang off, and I looked up at Flash who was lifting a piece of pizza to his mouth. "I think I might have just gotten my dream job."
He grinned. "Yeah?"
I nodded. "You really didn't say anything to him?"
"I really didn't. But if he's hurtin' for help, then he would have told my dad, so it makes sense that Dad would have suggested he talk to you."
"I should grab my computer."
He nodded to my plate. "Eat, baby. You can check your email once you're done. It'll take him a minute to send it, anyway."
The email came through less than an hour later, and I was a little shocked by the offer. Full benefits, a very loose schedule, provided I did my job and billed my hours, I could kind of manage my own time, and the offer to pay for the Bar and time off to study and take it.
I agreed immediately, falling into bed with Flash that night with a huge grin on my face and the weight of the world finally off my shoulders.
