The Biker's Fate Chapter 508
"I'm scared, Mama," Barry whined.
"You go on back to your crib and lay down. Mama will come in and read you a story soon."
"You tell that freak to put his hands up where I can see them, turn around, and sit his diapered ass on the floor," I said.
"It's okay Barry," the woman said, dropping his leash. "Remember our game, Simon says? Well, Train here is Simon, so put your hands in the air, turn around, and sit down like he said."
"Sit the fuck down or Simon's gonna ask you to whistle through the hole he puts in your lungs," I warned.
"Squeeze that trigger and your girlfriend is dead," Denny said.
"How about you let her go, and we all walk away from this? No harm, no foul." I kept my voice as steady as I could, locking eyes with Melody, hoping she knew I was going to protect her at any cost. "What do you say?"
"I'd say you're a man who's in no position to bargain," Mama replied.
"Is that so?" I asked. "It's pretty warm in here. And what's that I smell cooking in the kitchen? Smells like a little backwoods chemistry to me."
"What the fuck is your point?"
"If you know who I ride with, then you know we have the ability to throw a wrench or two into your little meth factory here."
"I got houses like this one all over town," she cackled. "Plus, I don't give two shits who you ride with, I'm with the Beast now. I'm protected."
"If that's true, you've only given me one more reason to ice you, right here and now," I said. "Let her go."
"Look here," Mama said. "We don't want to keep Ms. Morgan here any longer than we have to. In fact, all we want is for her to fire you, re-hire Gill, and tell the cops this was all a big misunderstanding. I don't care if you wanna keep putting your dick in her after that, but I want Gill's name cleared."
"You're out of your fuckin' mind," I said.
"No, son. I'm as smart as a whip and I snap even harder."
"I swear if you hurt her, I'll rain hell down on you."
"Big talk from a big man," Mama said. "I told you. You can't touch me, but y'all already know I can touch you."
"Sorry to break the news, but I'm kinda stepping on your whole kidnapping thing here."
"I'm not just talking about her. I'm talking about the junkie," Mama said, and my blood ran cold.
"What the fuck did you say?"
"That's right," Mama said. "It was easy to make it look like an overdose. Denny here may not look bright, but he knows all about chemistry. One little poke in the neck made the man compliant, and his veins were nice and ready for that fatal dose. Puddin' didn't know what hit him." She sneered. "But don't worry, we sent him off real happy."
Melody's eyes welled up with tears and my heart broke for her.
"Why?" I asked, fighting the urge to pull the trigger.
"Because I wanted to hurt Melody the way she hurt my little angel when she dragged the love of her life through the mud. But now that she knows what we're capable of, she's going to set everything right, or I'll start going after her sisters."
I was standing just inside the house, my body blocking the view outside from where Denny and Mama were. I could hear the faintest sounds of people moving behind me and deduced that Chip, Doom, and the others had arrived and were approaching the house.
"I'm gonna count to five and you'd better put that gun down on the floor or I swear I'll kill her," Denny said, and I believed him.
From my vantage point I could see Chip through an open window, located diagonally behind Denny and Mama.
"Okay," I said. "I'm gonna put my gun down, but when I do, you take your gun off her and point it at me, okay?"
"Gladly," Denny seethed.
Melody tried to object behind the duct tape, her words muffled.
"It's okay, baby. They're calling the shots," I said, making eye contact with Chip, and slowly began lowering my gun, repeating, "They're calling the shots. Calling the shots!"
Chip took my cue just as Denny raised his gun at me. Chip's bullet hit Denny directly in the back of the head, dropping him instantly.
"Don't fucking move," I said, pointing my gun at Mama.
The young girl screamed, and I looked to see her covered in blood and tissue. At first, I feared she'd been hit in the crossfire, but it was all Denny's.
Chip ran in and covered Mama while I freed Melody. Doom swept the house as sirens howled in the distance.
"It's okay, sweetie. Look at me," Melody said to the girl as soon as I cut her loose. "Just focus on me. Everything's gonna be okay." After everything that happened to her tonight, her only concern was for the well-being of this child.
"You shot my boy! You're gonna pay!" Mama screeched.
"He got off easy. You're gonna die in jail. I'm gonna make sure of it, after what you did to Puddin'," I said.
"The Beast will make sure I don't," she said.
"You know something, lady? I'm about ready to rip the Beast's fuckin head off and shit down her neck," I growled.
"A-fuckin'-men." Doom said.
"I'll walk, just you wait and see," Mama said.
"If you do, it'll be with a limp. Simon says, take a knee," I said, firing a single shot through her left kneecap, sending Mama toppling to the ground, screaming, and writhing in agony. "That's for Puddin', bitch."
I slid my gun back in its holster, rushing back to Melody, and wrapping my arms around her. "Let's get you the fuck outta here."
