The Triplets' Rejected Disabled Mate Chapter 101
Colt's POV
Latinos were exceptionally busy when we arrived.
Sam had made the reservation, and Carlo was excited about seeing us.
The huge, friendly, welcoming teddy bear waited for us.
"Alpha Colt," Carlo sang as he threw his hands in the air, welcoming us. "Long time, no see, champ!"
I took Carlo's hand and, for a shake, said a couple of words before he moved on to my brothers.
He was in an exceptionally good mood seeing us.
"Ahh," Carlo said when he saw Kate. "Have you decided to accept these handsome young men?"
Kate blushed, yet she nodded her head.
"Come, come, let me show you to your table," Carlo said. "This way, please!"
We followed Corlo down the path to our table and ended at the far end of the restaurant.
"Will this do?" He asked. "It's more private for my favorite love birds!"
"Thanks, Carlo; this is perfect," I said.
Sam pushed Kate's wheelchair closer and parked her at the table. She thanked Sam, and he took a seat next to her. I guess she told him not to worry about helping her onto a table chair.
"It seems like some of the packs have already arrived," Grey said, taking a seat.
"What packs?" Sam asked, looking around.
"The invited pack for the Blue Moon Festival that starts tomorrow," Grey said, slapping Sam on the back of the head.
"Is White River hosting this year's festival?" Kate asked, looking at the menu.
The blonde-headed waitress got closer.
"Welcome Alpha, Beta, and Delta," she said. "Can I take your drink order?"
Grey growled at the girl for disrespecting Kate, and the waitress's eyes widened, and she dropped her gaze.
"My apologies," she said. "Welcome, Ms. Kate."
Grey sat back in his chair, crossed his arms, and stared at the girl.
The waitress became uncomfortable under Grey's gaze, and she nervously started to fiddle as she waited for our drink order.
"Grey!" Kate warned, peeking over the top of the menu at him. She gave him one final warning look, and he backed down.
"Fine!" He said this, knitting his eyebrows together and picking up the menu.
Sam quietly chuckled behind his menu because Grey was getting scolded, and Kate lazily turned her gaze toward him and lifted an eyebrow.
"Don't!" She warned Sam, and he froze in his seat, looking like a naughty kid who just got caught.
Kate gave Sam a warning glare before she turned her attention back to the waitress.
"The Alpha and his brothers would like a bourbon, and I would like a glass of wine, please," Kate said sweetly.
"Which wine would you like, Ms. Kate?" The girl asked.
"My usual, please," Kate said, and the waiter nodded and took her leave.
Kate turned her attention back to me.
"You were saying?" She said, sitting back in her wheelchair and waiting for my reply. She looked interested in hearing what I had to say and even listened with great interest when Daniel spoke to her.
She will be a great Luna one day. She had so much patience and care.
"Yes, White River Pack was chosen for this year's festival," I said. "My father informed me about it earlier."
The Wolf Council was responsible for deciding and announcing which pack would be hosting the yearly festival. I guess with me being away from my duties so long, looking for my mate, I never got the memo that we were selected to house this year's festival.
The Blue Moon Festival was held once a year, just before winter. Even though the festival was in honor of the Moon Goddess, it also gave unmated wolves a chance to find their mates.
"That's interesting," Kate said. "Will there be a lot of packs attending?"
"All ten surrounding packs have accepted the invitations," I said. "Including the Silver Moonstone Pack. We will have even more wolf packs attending this year. My father has asked packs from other areas to attend as well."
"Anyone interesting?" Kate asked, interested.
"Well," I said. "There was just one pack that had caught my eye."
"Which one?" Sam asked, beating Kate to it.
I knew revealing the pack's name would create a bit of annoyance among my brothers, but if I could mentally prepare them in advance, things might go smoothly.
"Red Moon Pack," I said.
Kate's eyes grew wide, and she shook visibility in her chair when she heard Red Moon's name.
Was she scared of the pack?
Did something happen between them and her?
"Mom's old pack?" Grey huffed, irritated. "Why would Dad ask them to come here?"
"You know why," Sam said, rolling his eyes.
"But I don't," Kate said, shivering.
No one was fond of the Red Moon Pack, and some days I wished I could just pack my mom's bag and post her back to her old home. Maybe then she wouldn't be able to interfere in things that don't concern her.
"To sign a treaty," I said.
We broke the old alliance when my mother and her father, our grandfather, had a huge family fight.
"Our pack doesn't get along with them," Grey argued. "They are arrogant, snobs, and..."
"They are strong, healthy, and have a good and fair leader," I argued.
"Did Ethan accept the Alpha position?" Grey asked.
"Is he attending?" Kate asked with fear in her eyes.
"Yes," I answered, Kate. "My father wants me to especially cater for him, and no," I said to Grey, "Ethan is searching for his mate."
Kate flinched and started to become anxious.
"Do you know Alpha Ethan?" Sam asked, stretching out his hand to take Kate.
Did he pick up the same vibe as I did?
Kate swallowed hard and nodded.
"Ethan was my second chance mate," Kate said, dropping her gaze to her hands.
"W-w-what!" Grey roared, getting to his feet.
Gasps surrounded us and were attracting a lot of unwanted attention.
"Sssh!" Kate hushed him. "Sit down!"
Grey took a seat, and anger still radiated from him.
"It was a long time ago," Kate said. "I have made peace with the fact that he didn't want me."
"Then why are you acting scared?" Sam asked.
"Because I had a dream, and him finding and knowing where I am could cause problems..."
