The Triplets' Rejected Disabled Mate Chapter 104

5 min 2 views

Colt's POV

"How do I look?" Kate asked as she pushed her wheelchair out of the bathroom.

We bought an extra dress earlier as a surprise gift for Kate. The plan was to give it to her tomorrow so that she could wear it at the Blue Moon Festival.

Tomorrow's surprise was ruined, but Kate did react surprised when she saw the white dress, and she looked pretty awesome in the dress.

Kate had straightened her hair—we borrowed a straightener from a pack member—and her long auburn hair was softly falling over her shoulders.

She had done her makeup as naturally as she possibly could with the makeup she had in her handbag, coloring her kissable full lips a beautiful soft pink.

"Wow!" Grey gasped, seeing Kate, and his lips curled into a smile.

Sam was, for once, mute, and he was just standing and staring at Kate like an idiot without words.

"You look beautiful!" I said, and I got closer.

"Do you think your parents will approve?" Kate asked, worried, and she nervously fiddled with the soft white dress, pulling it over her knees.

We had dinner plans with my parents to formally introduce Kate.

My mother, on the other hand, called the dinner The Triplets' Welcome Back Dinner.

My mother has already met Kate, but my father has not.

"They don't really have a choice," Grey said.

Kate flinched and narrowed her eyes, yet she didn't ask what Grey meant by his statement.

I internally sighed.

None of us were excited about the dinner arrangements, and Grey wasn't scared to show how he felt about it.

"Grey means yes," I said, giving Grey a warning glare.

"Don't!" I liked him. "Kate doesn't need to know what our mother thinks or feels about her disability. She already has enough on her plate."

"I didn't mean it like that!" Grey defended himself and sighed. "I just don't care if Mother approves or not. Our mother's opinion doesn't count. We already accepted Kate."

"I know," I said. "But keep it cool."

I squatted in front of Kate, taking her hand in mine, and kissed the top of her hands. "The dress is perfect. It suits you, and you look beautiful."

Kate blushed.

"If you are ready," I said, getting to my feet. "We can go."

Kate nodded, and we left.

My parents waited for us in a small sitting area, and my mother lifted a perfect blonde eyebrow when she saw Kate entering with us.

Yet, she acted like a perfect Luna, keeping her straight composure.

"This is going to be fun," Grey sulked over the link.

I nodded at my parents and heard Grey and Sam greet them.

"And who is this beauty?" My father asked, eyeing Kate in the wheelchair.

"Evening Alpha, Luna," Kate greeted. "My name is Catherine Jones—Kate for short—and I am from the Silver Moonstone Pack."

My father came closer and held out his hand to Kate.

A warm smile followed on his lips as Kate took his hand to shake.

"Call me Michael," he said. "Welcome to the White River Pack. I hope your stay is comfortable, and you'll be happy here."

My mother rolled her eyes. She didn't like my father being nice to Kate.

"Thank you, Alpha," Kate said. "You surely have a beautiful home and pack."

"Beautiful and charming," my father said, laughing and turning toward my mother.

My mother flinched, and her face hardened.

"If looks could kill," Ray chirped, amused.

"We would have been digging a grave by now," I said.

"Your mother sure looks tense, like she is about to explode," Ray said.

"She wouldn't dare..." I said. "She knows she is not allowed to embarrass my father in front of guests."

"Kate isn't just any guest," Ray said. "She is our mate. She doesn't like her."

"Dinner is ready," Omega announced, cutting Ray's and my conversation short.

We all headed toward the dining area.

My father took his seat as the head, and my mother sat down on his right.

I unconsciously counted the seats placed at the table, noticing there was one extra place set. Daniel wasn't attending; he had gone to a bonfire down at the lake with some of his friends.

Sam and Grey noticed the extra seating as well.

Grey lifted an eyebrow, Sam's face twisted in annoyance, and I sighed, knowing already what my mother was up to.

Amy was invited.

"Let's piss mom off," Sam growled over the link.

"What do you have in mind?" Grey asked.

"Let's swap seating," Sam said.

"You think mom is targeting you?" I asked.

"Yes," he laughed. "She thinks if she could get me to cross over, you would too."

I turned my gaze toward Grey.

"You know I can't swap places," I said.

A dark grin followed Grey's lips.

"But I can, and it will be my pleasure," he said.

Grey came around and lifted Kate from her chair, carrying her to her seat at the table.

I took my seat next to my father, and Grey placed Kate next to me on his seat, then walked around the table and sat down next to our mother.

Sam quietly folded the wheelchair, moved it out of the way, and took a seat next to Kate.

My mother looked bewildered at us, and she knitted her eyebrows together and glared at us. She knew we were up to something.

As expected, when the food was served, Amy burst into the dining area.

"Sorry, I'm late," she said, smiling.

But her face fell, looking bewildered around the table, noticing Sam wasn't sitting where they hoped he would.

"I thought it was a family dinner?" my father asked, seeing Amy and turning to my mother, lifting an eyebrow.

"It is," my mother said calmly. "I thought it would be a great idea if Amy attended; she is so fond of the boys."

Sam huffed, annoyed.

Grey growled, rolling his eyes, and Kate sank back in her chair.

I shifted in my seat, moving my gaze toward my father, and lifted my eyebrows. I was interested to know his thoughts on this situation.

Will he allow her to stay? Or will he side with us and not my mother?
