The Triplets' Rejected Disabled Mate Chapter 112
Catherine POV
"What did you just say?" Colt asked as he slowly rose to his feet. His dominant aura was suffocating everyone standing around him.
Luna Mary shivered, taking a step back and dropping her head.
Sam took a step away from me, dropping his head. Grey, standing next to Colt, did the same.
I could see the invisible power moving around Colt and flowing inside the room.
"I asked you a question!" Colt roared, taking a step forward.
"I'm sorry." Luna Mary stuttered and whimpered.
"Apologize to my mate now!" Colt sneered through gritted teeth.
"No!" Luna Mary said. She pulled her composure straight, fought against Colt's deadly aura, and lifted her gaze, looking Colt straight in the eyes.
She sure had guts.
"I am Luna," she said. "I am your mother, and I will not apologize for that thing you call a mate. She is not worth it. She is not worth you or any of your brothers!"
Colt's face turned cold, his eyes flashed gold, and his hands shifted into claws.
"Colt," Luna Mary stood her ground. "You are scaring me. Drop the act now! Calm down. I am your mother, for goddess’ sake."
"My mother is a true Luna," Colt said coldly, and he grabbed Luna Mary around her throat. "You are no mother of mine!"
Luna Mary tried to fight Colt's hands off her slender neck, and choking sounds escaped her lips.
"Sam, Grey," I called. "Help your mother, before your brother hurts her!"
Both shook their heads.
"She didn't listen," Grey said.
"We warned her," Sam said.
"We can't go against Colt's orders," Grey added.
"We must protect our mate," Sam said.
Luna Mary's face turned red, and her eyes rolled over.
She might be a bitch to me, but I will not stand here and let her get hurt because of what she thinks of me.
I pushed the wheelchair forward and stopped at the exit.
Grey came closer, but I stopped him.
Blood started to run down Luna Mary's neck, where Colt ducked his nails into her flesh.
"Colt, STOP!" I commanded. "You are hurting the pack, Luna. Think of the pack and your family. How will the pack see you if you hurt her, or how will your father feel if you kill his mate?"
I carefully pushed forward and set my hands on Colt's wrist, then looked up at him.
"Let go, Colt," I pleaded. "She doesn't understand the love you have for me. She is still blind."
Colt's gaze slowly moved toward me.
"Let go," I repeated. "She will see when the time comes."
Colt let go of his mother, sank back into his seat, and gasped for air.
"I can't be close to you," he said. "Your scent is suffocating for me."
Pain reflected in his eyes, and I moved the wheelchair backward, away from him.
Luna Mary's hands were around her neck, and she stared at me with so much hate.
"It was because of you that he almost killed me," she yelled, pointing her finger at me. "I will have the Alpha know of what you have done!"
"I'll take that as a thank you for saving your life," I said, pushing the wheelchair past her toward my room.
Sam gave his mother a glare and followed me to my room.
It was after lunch when we were done with my room, and I felt a bit more at home. Everything now has its place.
Grey had arranged lunch for us and left us without another word.
"Let's get you in the bath," Sam said.
"It's still too early," I argued.
"You have worked so hard today," Sam said, praising me. "You deserve a long and relaxing bath."
I immediately knew Sam was up to something, and I crossed my arms around my waist.
"Sam," I said, raising an eyebrow.
"You don't believe me?" He chuckled. "What gave me away?"
"For starters," I said, seriously. "You are my mate; I know when you are keeping things from me."
"That's unfair," Sam said. "We aren't keeping anything."
"Don't lie, Sam," I said, stopping him. "I know your mother doesn't like me, and I have noticed it before today."
Sam shifted his weight on his legs, looking uncomfortable.
Colt promised me that he would explain what was going on, but none of us expected her to openly insult me.
"The Luna is just worried," Sam said, shifting his gaze out the window. The way he said Luna Mary's title hasn't gone unnoticed.
Have the boys decided not to recognize Luna Mary as their mother anymore?
"Worried about what?" I asked, pushing the wheelchair toward Sam.
I needed to know what her issue was with me.
Was it because I was in a wheelchair?
Was that the only reason?
Sam sighed.
"I'll tell you," he said, shifting his gaze toward me. "When you are relaxing in the bath."
I rolled my eyes at him, shaking my head, annoyed.
"You are being unfair," I said.
I knew that if I refused to obey Sam's request, he would, just like his brothers, not tell me.
"Not really," Sam said playfully, and he came closer. "It's called compromise."
"Me doing what you want so that I get the information from you?" I asked and glared at Sam.
Sam nodded and smiled.
"Sounds more like blackmailing!" I argued.
Sam burst out laughing.
"I am not blackmailing you," he said. "I am trying to get you ready for tonight's festivities."
"Still," I argued. "I think it's still a bit early."
Sam rolled his eyes at me and sighed.
"Goddess," he said, turning his eyes toward the roof. "Why did you gift me such a stubborn and hardheaded mate? Why do I always need to argue with her before she gives in?"
"I am not that bad," I defended.
"Have you met yourself?" Sam asked, getting closer. "You are as stubborn as a mule; some days you are just as bad as Colt!"
"Now you are comparing me with Colt, the soon-to-be Alpha!" I said, slapping his arm playfully.
"It's true," Sam said, pushing me into the bathroom. "If I hadn't had Colt as a brother, I might never have learned how to handle you!"
"Practice makes perfect," I bit back.
Sam chuckled, coming around and opening the bath taps. He added some pink crystals and a bubble bath to the water.
Soon the bathroom was under steam.
Sam helped me get undressed, looked at me, bent down, and started sucking on a nipple.
I threw my head back, enjoying the sweet torture of Sam's lips on my breast.
My underwear was already soaked, and I was burning to have Sam inside me.
Sam took a quick step back, looking at me with lustful eyes.
"Let's get you cleaned up," he said with a bit of annoyance. "Before I drag you to the room and make you late for the stylist..."
