The Triplets' Rejected Disabled Mate Chapter 115
Catherine POV
Colt took my hand and kissed it, and then slowly made some distance between us.
Sam's arms snaked around my waist, and he pulled me out of the chair and onto my feet. He held me in place in a standing position while Grey moved the wheelchair out of the way.
"Have fun," Sam mused in my ear, and I kissed his marking spot.
Colt came closer, taking both of my hands.
"Now, Ms. Jones, let's go and enjoy ourselves and dance," Colt chirped.
I was pondering how he would manage that. Were we only going to sway from side to side while he held me to him?
Colt pulled me to his hard sculpture chest, his one arm snaking supportively around my waist while his hand moved tenderly down my face.
"Do you trust me?" He asked, his eyes full of love.
I slowly nodded my head.
Sam carefully lifted my foot and removed one of my shoes, then placed my bare foot on top of Colt's shoes.
My gaze snapped at Colt's out of surprise, asking the unspoken question.
"Don't worry about it," he said, and he tenderly smiled.
This was so embarrassing. Colt was making me stand on his feet like a four-year-old learning how to dance.
"But people will see," I argued, feeling blood race to my cheeks.
"They wouldn't," Colt said, finding my gaze. "I would never embarrass you like that."
There was a promise in his eyes.
"We made sure that no one would notice," Sam said, removing my other shoe.
"And we are planning to each have a turn to dance with you," Grey added.
My confused gaze moved down to Sam and Grey, looking at what they were doing. They were fixing my dress, covering my feet, and Colt's shoes.
The dress was covering my feet!
They must have planned this!
They must have known how much I love dancing, and they knew I would have felt uncomfortable about my disability.
My surprised gaze moved back to Colt, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
No one would see!
No one would know!
Only we will know my little secret!
"Done!" Sam said, happily getting to his feet.
There was only warmth written in his soft blue eyes.
"So let's get the ball on the roll," Colt said, nodding his head at his brothers.
Curious eyes followed us as Colt walked with me to the center of the hall.
I suddenly felt anxious.
Will Colt get tired of holding me like this?
Will he eventually drop me?
Will this make him change his mind about me?
Sam and Grey watched us intensively; their gazes never leaving us.
I mentally thanked the goddess when I noticed it was a slow dance. Nothing unexpected can happen, or can it?
I wrapped my arms around Colt's neck, enjoying his closeness and heat, and we slowly swayed to the sound of the slow music.
Colt's sandalwood scent enveloped me, and it became a second skin around me. I sighed in contentment, feeling warm, wanted, and accepted.
This was heaven.
This was my safe place.
This is where I belong.
"Did I tell you," Colt asked, breaking my chain of thoughts. "You look beautiful tonight?"
I lifted my gaze and looked at the huge wolf holding me. He looked relaxed. His hard, cold, serious eyes were a lovely dark blue.
"No," I said. "But your actions have told me much more."
Colt smiled and bent down. Our lips locked, and his minty breath took my breath away.
I became lost in the moment, feeling my senses awakening as we battled for dominance. We didn't care who saw us.
My heart rate slowed, and my hands became intangible in Colt's soft black hair.
I was on cloud nine, and nothing at that moment could ruin my happiness.
The song ended, and it was replaced by a much faster-paced one.
Yet I didn't care. I was long gone, stuck in the moment. Nothing in that small moment was more important to me than Colt.
Colt was the first to break away from the kiss. We were both panting out of breath.
A teasing smile followed on his lips, and small little devils started to dance in his warm blue eyes.
Oh no!
I know that look!
What was Colt up to? This only looked like trouble was coming!
"Hold on tight," he said.
I yelp out of fright as Colt started to move his feet, taking dancing steps.
My body tensed under his hold. I was afraid. I was afraid I would slip out of his hold and fall to the floor.
I was afraid that someone would laugh at me standing on Colt's expensive black, shiny shoes.
"Relax," Colt said. "I will never let you fall."
"Colt." I tried to stop him, but he shook his head, cutting me off.
"Just trust me," he said seriously. "I will not let you fall or embarrass you."
That's what Kia said as well. Maybe I should have a little more faith and just let go and trust.
But it was hard, and I was scared.
The last person I trusted with my heart ripped it out of my chest, stumped on it, and left it bleeding.
"Trust him," Kia suddenly said, purring. "They are all deeply in love with you!"
Before I could reply, both Colt's hands moved to my waist, and he lifted me into the air, spinning me around.
All eyes were on us, and the floor cleared to make space.
Howls, whistling, and clapping echoed over the music in the ballroom, and everyone stopped dancing and looked at us.
"Oh Goddess, please!" I mentally begged. "Please don't let Colt make me fall!"
Colt brought me down slowly and wrapped his arms supportively around me.
I was shaking like a leaf in his arms and released a breath I didn't know I was holding before I found the courage to tilt my head.
I found Colt's gaze.
What he said next took my breath away...
