The Triplets' Rejected Disabled Mate Chapter 120

Colt's POV

"That was f*cking close!" Sam called out, wide-eyed. "Who would have thought that all mighty Alpha Ethan would buy a lie like that?"

Sam pulled a sour face, mocking Ethan's title; he had never liked Ethan much.

Grey raised an eyebrow and turned to look at me.

"I wasn't lying when I said Colt had marked Kate," Grey said.

The room fell silent once more, and everyone's gaze turned to me.

"You marked Kate without telling me—us?" Sam spat angrily and sat upright. "I thought we all agreed to wait until the Alpha Ceremony."

My gaze moved toward Grey, seeking help.

"I can't remember marking Kate," I said, honestly.

Grey pulled his lips into a thin line, nodding his head.

"I have a theory about that," Grey said after a moment of silence.

"Typical!" Sam hissed, throwing his hands in the air. "Grey always comes up with a theory and saves the day!"

Grey lightly growled at Sam, warning him to back off.

"Care to explain?" my father said, ignoring my brother's outburst.

Sam released a breath of annoyance and laid back on the seat, crossing his arms around his chest and sulking.

He surely looked unhappy and disappointed in me.

I sighed.

I didn't purposely break our arrangement; I can't even remember marking Kate.

"I will in a moment," Grey said, moving toward the huge bookshelf that covered most of my father's office walls.

"What are you looking for?" I asked curiously.

Grey gave me his famous I-know-something-you-don't-know smile.

"Oh-oh," Ray said. "Grey has unraveled some secrets again!"

"Seems so," I agreed. "That smile only means trouble is coming."

"Yep," Ray said. "And I have a feeling whatever he is about to tell us might create problems!"

"Something must have ticked him off," I said. "I'm just interested to know what."

When Grey gets a whiff of some interesting secret, he will do anything and everything to get his hands on the information.

"I'm looking for my grandfather's old journals," Grey said.

"Why?" Sam asked, pinning his gaze on the ceiling.

"I need it to help me explain what is happening," Grey said, sounding frustrated that he couldn't find what he was looking for.

My father got to his feet.

"You will not find it there," he said.

Grey stopped what he was doing and turned his attention to our father.

"Then, where did you hide it?" he asked, surprised.

"Tell me what you are thinking," he said, gesturing for us to have a seat.

"Your father is ignoring Grey's question," Ray commented. "He looks a bit worried."

I frowned as I took a seat, waiting for Grey to start.

"All three had some kind of vision when we first touched Kate," Grey said, looking between the two of us.

Sam and I nodded in agreement.

"Now, I never told you guys my vision because it would have sounded too far-fetched and crazy," Grey said. "In any case, you wouldn't have believed me because it is very similar to our grandfather's vision."

I looked at Grey, confused.

What was he talking about?

Which vision was he referring to?

Was it horrible?

Will that explain why I couldn't breathe with Kate near me?

I suddenly became anxious, and Grey's gaze caught mine; his eyes were filled with excitement.

"I saw three wolves merge," Grey said, but there wasn't a hint of playfulness in his voice.

He was serious!

The room fell silent before I found the courage to say something.

"You think Grandfather's vision is coming true?" I asked. The idea sounded surreal to my ears.

We grew up with a bedtime story about brothers merging in a huge beast protecting the Goddess' descendant, but Kate was just a normal she-wolf, or was she?

"Yeah," Grey answered, nodding his head. "I believe his vision was about us."

"Yep, that confirms it," Sam snapped. "You are crazy."

"Then it makes you crazy too," Grey bit back.

"Okay, boys," my father said, raising his hands to try and stop us from arguing. "Just give Grey a chance to explain what he thinks he knows."

"Fine!" Sam said, rolling his eyes. "I'll keep quiet for now, but that doesn't mean I will believe everything Grey says."

Grey turned his attention back to me.

"Remember when you lost control in our quarters?" he asked.

I nodded.

"You gave an order not to intervene," Grey said. "We couldn't help Mother, even if we wanted to."

Sam sat upright.

"Your aura has already changed to an Alpha," Sam added.

"And we needed to obey you," Grey finished. "That's when I suspected something was up."

"So what?" I said. "That doesn't mean anything!"

"I think it is because you marked her," he said.

"I don't know what you are talking about," I said. "I just remembered being tired, and then Kate's scent became poisonous, making it difficult to breathe."

Grey nodded.

"Yet tonight it all changed again," he said. "You could dance with her."

"Yes." I nodded and sighed. Nothing was making sense to me anymore.

"I think when you marked her, some of her magic spilled over to you," Grey continued.

Sam shook his head; he didn't believe anything Grey was saying.

"So how far am I off?" Grey asked, turning toward my father.

My father sighed.

"Your grandfather received a vision forty years ago. It is believed that it was a message from Mother Moon."

My father suddenly stared blankly into nothing as he was reliving the event.

Was he there when this happened?

"It was a night like this one; we were preparing for the Blue Moon Festival," he said. "Our pack was selected..."

My father's face turned pale, and he gasped as if he suddenly remembered something critical.

A cold feeling ran down my spine.

"F*ck!" My father swore and started pacing up and down in his office.

"I have never seen him like this," Ray said, concerned.

That made two of us.

I wondered what he remembered.

It must be important; my father has never lost his cool this way; he could always find a quick way to solve a problem in a cool and constructive manner.

Now he was continuously pulling his hands through his thick gray hair, swearing that only the goddess would know what.

I nodded in agreement.

Something was up, and I needed to get to the bottom of this.

I need to know, as Alpha, what was so terrifying about that night.

"Father," I called, trying to get his attention, but he kept on shaking his head, pacing up and down, swearing.

"We had better find out what was wrong," Ray said, worried. "Before he loses his mind."

I got up and went to him, grabbed his shoulders, and forced him to stop.

"Look at me!" I growled.

My father shook his head. "I can't!"

"Why not?" I was bewildered.

"Because it's all my fault!" he said.

"Your fault?" I snapped. "What are you going on about?"

He shook his head, and something like a whimper escaped his lips.

"I should have known!" He said. "I should have taken your grandfather's vision to heart. I should never have agreed to have the Blue Moon Festival here! She is in danger; they are coming for her!"

I could feel the blood leave my body.

Was he referring to Kate?

"Explain!" I roared, grabbing my father's collar and forcing him to look at me.

"She is...!"

The office door suddenly swung open, crashing against the wall, cutting my father off, and a young warrior rushed in.

"Alpha," the warrior said, out of breath. "My apologies for intruding, but this is urgent—a little accident has occurred."
