The Triplets' Rejected Disabled Mate Chapter 106
Colt's POV
"If you would excuse us," I said, getting up. "We had a long day and would like to return to our quarters."
"Are you sure?" My father asked, looking kind of sad that we would call it a night.
"Yes, father," Grey said. "We still need to attend to Kate's room."
We had cleared all the clutter from Kate's room and dumped everything in the bin.
Kate couldn't save the old blankets, and my heart was sore from seeing how sad Kate was.
We promised to take her to replace the bedding in the morning, but we still needed to get replacement bedding for tonight.
"What's wrong with your room?" Alpha Michael asked Kate.
"Someone broke into Kate's room and decided to destroy all her belongings," Sam said.
My mother flinched, surprised. We all expected her to be the culprit, but her scent wasn't in the room.
It was kind of weird; the scent that was found didn't even belong to Amy.
"Is this true?" Alpha Michael asked, turning toward my mother.
Did he think my mother was guilty as well?
Did she ask one of the pack members to do her bidding?
"I have nothing to do with that," my mother defended, throwing her hands in the air defensively. "I have been busy in the kitchen the whole day preparing this meal we had. You are welcome to ask any of the omegas who assisted me."
"I am not accusing you," my father said. "I was just wondering if you knew anything about it."
"No," my mother answered, getting to her feet. "And I have no idea who would go out of their way to do so."
Yet, I had a feeling that that idea had crossed my mother's mind; someone had just beaten her to do so.
"Very well," my father said, turning his attention back to us. "Let me know if there is anything you need."
Kate thanked our father, and she wished my parents a good night.
Grey brought the wheelchair closer, and I lifted Kate into her seat.
Sam wanted to push the wheelchair back to Kate's room, and I let him.
I internally sighed in contentment. I thought that working together would become an issue and that we would get into one another's faces and fight, but so far, everything has flowed naturally.
I said good night to my parents, and we left.
The walk back to Kate's room was fairly quiet. We were all busy with our own thoughts.
Kate sighed when we reached the long hallway. She was dreading going back to her room.
I couldn't blame her.
After cleaning her room, she only had the clothes she bought and what she wore to town.
The rest of her clothes were destroyed beyond repair. She didn't even have any sleepwear to sleep in.
"Why the depressing sigh?" Sam asked, picking up on Kate's mood.
"I'm just annoyed," she said.
Grey and I stopped, turned to look at one another, and then hurried to our rooms.
We caught up with Sam and Kate when we reached her room.
"What's that?" Kate asked, pushing her wheelchair closer.
"Temporary accessories," Grey said.
He had grabbed an extra blanket from his bed and brought a pair of his boxers from his room.
"We know that you don't have any bedding or clothes and are not comfortable borrowing pack members' stuff," I said. "We are hoping you will maybe consider using ours until we can replace it."
I handed Kate a T-shirt and dumped the extra blanket on the bed.
Grey did the same and handed Kate the boxers.
Surprisingly, she took a whiff of the shirt and smiled.
"It smells like you," she said. "Thank you."
Sam rolled his eyes and huffed, then rushed out of the room.
Kate's eyes widened.
"What did I do?" She asked.
"I guess he is a bit jealous," I said.
"Don't worry," Grey added. "He will be back."
I helped Kate out of her dress and into my shirt, and Grey helped her fit the boxers.
We helped Kate stand, and the boxers landed on the floor and chuckled amused at her facial expression.
"I guess they are way too big," she said to Grey.
"Well, you don't really need those," I said.
Grey agreed, picking them up and throwing them aside.
That wasn't the only thing too big for Kate; the shirt was hanging on her knees.
Kate looked down and pouted. She looked so cute when she did that.
"Well, it is that, or you would be sleeping butt naked tonight," Grey said.
"I can live with that," I said. "Who needs clothes anyway?"
Kate's face turned crimson, and Ray howled in my mind.
"Should we help you?" Grey started to ask.
"No," Kate said. "I-I-I am fine."
Sam stalked into the room, carrying a huge fluffy bear in his hand.
"Where the hell did he find that?" Grey asked, sounding annoyed over the link.
"Your guess is as good as mine," I said.
Kate looked at Sam, a bit confused, as he came closer.
Kate gestured to us that she wanted to sit down, and we helped her on the bed.
Sam handed Kate the bear and took a step back. The bear was almost the same size as Kate, and it was overpowering her small frame.
"I bought the bear as a gift for you before we left on our trip," Sam said shyly. "I wanted to give it to you when we returned, but things didn't go as planned."
Kate hugged the bear to her chest and pushed her nose into the fluffy white fur.
"Mmm," she said as she pulled away. "Thank you."
"I hope it makes you feel a bit better," Sam said. For once, I could see Sam changing. He really cared about Kate and her feelings.
Kate nodded and smiled.
"Thank you for helping me," she said, sounding embarrassed.
"It's a pleasure," I said, kissing the top of her head.
"It's the least we could do," Grey added.
"We will do anything for you, princess," Sam mused.
When Kate was settled in and ready for bed, Sam and I excused ourselves.
We were going on a small mission...
