MATED TO THE VAMPIRE KING SON Chapter 107

There was no one to tell, about the things that I had seen. I wished to tell Freda about what I saw, her stepmom and Damien's uncle. Freda was the only one who could handle the news better. If Winston heard about what I had seen, then no one would be able to control the fight that would ensue that very day.

But all of them were gone now, even Lilly who seemed to be someone uninterested and rude with love. Whatever Theo had done to win her heart for a kiss was remarkable.

Talking about love and its perks, I was in the kitchen making lunch for Elijah. He had dropped a note for me today to make him lunch. I had never been so delighted as I was to do it. I had not seen him for the last few days, but I knew he would come over to get his food, allowing us to meet again.

He mentioned his favorite and that was what I was preparing. Knowing that Freda and Elijah especially enjoyed how I cooked was enough to make my days in the palace worth it.

Lady Agatha busted into the kitchen angrily and immediately charged at me, holding my dress at the chest side. I panicked wondering what was wrong this time again. She held onto a squeezed paper in her hand and her eyes shot at me.

"What is this? Why did my son drop you a note?"

My heart raced. She had seen the note where I kept it. "He wants me to make him lunch, that's all Lady Agatha."

"And how many times have you done this?"

"This is the first time" I lied.

Her eyes glanced at the food I was packaging and instantly she carried it. After placing it on her nose to take a sniff, she poured it on my dress, steaming hot. I screamed as I tried my best to pull off the clothes I was wearing.

"Don't you ever come close to my son," she warned. "You want to impress him right? That's what all this is for"

I cried, going on my knees. "I am sorry Lady Agatha. I have no intention of doing that."

"My son is a Knight and he would have nothing to do with a peasant like you"

My skin burned from the heat of the food on my clothes. Was this the woman that Elijah claimed to be sweet? It was clear this woman never wanted to see me around and it would be worse if she found out that I had a crush on her son.

"Get out of this place, you irritate me." I rushed out of the kitchen, running to my room. On getting there, I fell on the floor, sobbing profusely. Lady Agatha was a nightmare and I would do anything to be away from her.

I went into the bathroom and took a shower to ease the burning pain I felt. As I buried my head in the pillow, sobbing, I heard some voices in the corridor of the cottage.

Maybe gossip was my thing because I found a keen interest in knowing whatever was happening around the palace. I walked softly to my entrance, but I could not hear them well.

I left my door, a bit further to the cottage. Now the voice was clearer and it was Uncle William together with Lord Balen and Verestina, in something like an argument.

"This is my time to strike." Uncle William said. Strike? What was going on? And why was this a private meeting?

"Once the King is raised, Damien will have no choice but to back down seeing his father take what is rightfully his." Lord Balen said.

"King Draken had always been the right one to handle the throne and he wasn't meant to die yet. I can't wait to have him back, get married again, and be the Queen of Valthrun"

William looked at her with disgust for a while before turning to her father. "Are all the potions ready?"

"Lord Balen at your service"  he bowed.

"How dare that little boy choose to make me his right-hand man when I am the brother to the former king and his uncle."

"I am especially delighted to find out that I wasn't the only one that despised him. Other people like Lady Daphne and Elara can kiss his ass."

"Will the awakening of King Draken cause anything?" Verestina asked, a little concern on her face. "Would he still be as crazy in bed?"

William was not impressed with Verestina, so he scoffed. "I hope you do know how to keep secrets. Because I will not spare you if this gets out. By the way, this plan is only successful because of Freda's absence and Elara's war. With Damien around, it is difficult to plan this around him without suspicion."

"He can barely battle with Kyraxx armies before he gets to their King. But if he almost survives, the moment he is back here, another King must have been on the throne."

"King Draken doesn't need the people's approval to claim the throne, as any other person would. So Damien cannot dethrone him, except they battle and kill each other again."

"So we need to hurry with the awakening," William concluded.

I couldn't believe my ears, this was too much for me to handle. I knew Lord Balen was opposed and Verestina and Damien had been on bad terms, but Uncle William?

How could he betray Damien? Was this  King Draken's plan before he died or was this all William? Was he rooting for his brother to be king once again or he wanted to be king?

And what other position was higher than a right-hand man to the king that William wanted to have? What exactly did he want?

I sneaked out the way I came, very careful not to be caught, else my life would not be spared by these people.
