Freda's pov

I was to receive a few items to choose from. Damien did not offer me specifics on what was arriving but it was meant for the coronation ceremony, which was approaching faster by the day.

Kara sat in my room as we both waited for what was to arrive.

"What if it were to be blood," she said and I frowned, Damien wouldn't offer me blood.

"That is not in the slightest bit possible, besides he said I was to make a choice-"

"Choice being either to drink or not," she said with a straight face and I chuckled.

"If he was to offer me blood he would have done that before now, I didn't think he was much interested in making me one of his people, that can not even be possible," I said and she looked at me like I didn't know what I was saying.

"It could be possible during your coronation. Isn't he going to mark you as his on that day?"

"And that is why I am, ...we are going to escape. I don't want to be one of them"

Kara rolled her eyes first then laughed. As long as she was aware of my escape, she was going to go with me. I wouldn't allow her to get into Damien's trouble when he starts searching for the truth.

"But what kind of children do you think the both of you will produce?" she said and I frowned. I had never thought of children. My mind immediately raced to all the times we had sex, I could not remember if he poured inside of me or not, and I hoped I was not pregnant.

"What is it?" She asked I shook my head, there was nothing for me to think about. I rose to my feet to use the bathroom when I heard a knock at the door

"Come" I muttered out loud and the doors opened revealing hangers with beautiful dresses being pushed into the room by maids I had never seen before.

"Your Highness, the king has asked me to present these apparels to you to make a choice, I am here to fit you, whenever you are ready my Queen," one of the maids said, she was so beautifully dressed that I began doubting she was a maid.

"Wow," Kara said, getting up from her seat as she came to look at the dresses. They were beautiful. I wished I didn't have to pick one.

"Your man sure knows beautiful things," Kara said and I flushed, she wasn't lying.

"Ooh try this," she said, handing me a dress that matched a ball gown, it was so pretty and it was loose, 'I could wear it again for another ceremony'  the thought came to me and I froze. I wasn't supposed to be enjoying dress picking or thinking about wearing clothes like this again.

"Let's go with that one," I said and Kara frowned.

"We haven't even gone through all of them," she said and I shrugged my shoulders.

"It doesn't matter, whatever she picks will look marvelous on her," the Lady said and I smiled, maybe I should just pick something interesting since that day was going to be the last of this royal life I pretended to enjoy.

"Let me behold my eyes on something else" I requested. If there was a need to accept this dress as the last gift from Damien, I needed a cloth that was at least loose for escape.

I found it. I sighted a long playful sundress made with soft silk, a vibrant red with florals at the tip, a dress that can make a swirl when I wear it.

"I'll pick this," I said.

"That is rather too casual, My Queen, might we go with your previous choice?" The lady said. I knew my reasons for picking it so I wouldn't let her convince me otherwise.

"That is all I would like to have" I insisted and she nodded. She went further in bringing our jewels I could pick from, same as heels and other bodily beautification to accentuate my dress tomorrow.

We went through this process with Kara for about an hour before concluding. It turned out that I would be wearing two dresses. The maid also talked about making my hair very early in the morning of the coronation.

I just listened and nodded to all they said. I would be giving them the shock of their life tomorrow.

After they left, I lay on the bed with Kara. "It's finally time," I muttered.

"I can imagine our lives in the human world already," Kara said.

"Except, you might need to hide your wolf," I reminded her. If Kara followed me, I hope her life wouldn't turn out as mine did. She would be the only werewolf among her peers which might bring hate or rejection, just like me being a hybrid in the supernatural.

"I hope I am good at hiding. Hopefully, no one provokes me enough to bring out my wolf" We both laughed.

"I enjoyed it while it lasted," I muttered. She turned to me.

"Huh?"

"Damien and all these. I enjoyed it while it lasted. " I said again.

"Would you send him letters?"

"I could not, he would find out my location. Damien coming to the human world is the last thing I want to happen."

"He would give up easily, considering he is a vampire that can barely take sunlight."

My mind wavered to that day in the garden. How the sun burned him for a few minutes when we were outside. If he tried looking for me, he would lose his soul.

"Mother wouldn't forget me, would she?" I asked, the face of my mum coming to my memories again. I was eager to see the expression on her face if she saw me. I wanted to know what life would have been like if she had been with us. As a human who birthed me, I wanted to see what life would be with my human mother.
